Same bro, I've always been a huge fan of MK but never got any good at it.. To get good at fighting games, it seems as if you have to play that game and only that for weeks and weeks and even months just to be able to actually land some of your combo strings. Lots of learning and very very steep learning curve. Always end up giving up after a few weeks because I get demoralized by the slow progress. So cool to watch tho !

I recommend a guy on RUclips named Daryus P. He goes over big combos and breaks them down in a concise and repetitive way. Really helped me a lot. What also helped me was looking up combos from other RUclipsrs and writing the steps down on a note card. I convert the numbered system they all use to buttons for my specific console. Then it’s just practice, practice!
I don't know if you're still answering comments but i do have a question. I wanna understand the game, i wanna be good at the game. I love seeing good players do their flashy, big combos and doing diferet combos in diferent scenarios because they understand the game and can acess the situation and see whats best for the moment. Im really shit at the game, cant do a combo for the life of me, only by watching videos and memorising the combo, but i dont wanna memorise, i wanna understand the game and have my own judgment. How can i achieve that, there isn't a video thats managing to help me with that..
definitely still answering comments, im here to teach after all! Two schools of thought on this. There is a lot to learn if you are to get better at the game as a whole. Combos are part of it but not the only thing. I would suggest checking out my playlist "From The Ground Up". Its a little dated, but has a ton of information on how to get better at the game. Secondly, I have a playlist for combo videos if thats what you are after. I Will be posting a video on what do do if you are feeling this way, its totally relatable to my initial experience if I'm being honest. appreciate you giving my channel a chance.

Second off, can I create my own combos or do I have to stick to the combos the game gives me? lastly, Is there a way to fhange the dial in to visual? I hate pressing buttons in advance, I wanna time it. I cant memorize shit so learning combos is out of the question for me. that makes online a pain tho, I dont stand a chance
1. repetition is the best way to remember combos! Your hands get used to it I promise 2. You can only do the combo strings in the move list unforunately 3. Some are visual and a few are dial in, gotta mess around to see whats what but cant change that. hope this helped!

I mean I can defeat the vasics tutorial version of sub zero with a fatal blow away from dying because I cant fucking block in this game. It should be easy like standig block blocks overhead and mid while low block blocks mid and low. but Idk the characters at all, I basically have to guess what kind of attack it is all while already reacting to block the attack withing like .1 seconds wich is faster then human reactiontime. I luckily can get just about out of the way but thats it, if im trying to block it will hit ne because i react to slow

you can equip them in character customization screen, they give you different special moves
