- Homemade Hot Pockets! These "taco pockets" are perfect to make for a portable lunch. Bake a batch of hot pockets and freeze or refrigerate to reheat later.

Ingredients:
Dough:
1/4 ounce yeast
1 1/4 cups warm water (100-110ºF)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups bread flour
few drops oil
Filling:
1 teaspoon oil
1 cup diced onion
1 clove garlic, minced
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 pound lean ground beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup salsa
1 cup refried beans
4 ounces cheese, cut into 8 slices

I love this and love your channel! I don't have a mixer can I do it by hand or is there an alternative ready made dough I could use? Im allergic to beef would you sub it with ground turkey or chicken? Lastly how do I reheat so they taste as good as the first batch? Your match outfits is so classy and fabulous!! He's adorable! Looks like an empanada me......well, I guess if you take out the refried beans and salsa. I'm American but I've lived in Chile for almost six years. They have all kinds of delicious empanadas here.....chicken, beef, chopped beef, shrimp and cheese, crab, abalone......the list goes on...

If you use whole wheat flour and get some veggies in there, it could be pretty healthy. Maybe replace the refried beans with fresh beans or another vegetable

I keep my onions in the fridge. Cold onions don't make you cry as much!
Byron Chandler you can also peel them under runnkng water (well you also to dry them out afterwards lol).... and they wont make you cry at all

With this one you could really put anything in the pocket, I bet if you season tofu really well, this could work out just dandy! Or just leave out the meat/substitute all together. :)
Dave Poh You can make vegan pockets you don't need meat or cheese just veggies and sauce and vegan cheese..
