Dude , I have thanked folks in the past for helpful vids, but really a simple thanks just don't seem enough to express my relief & gratitude..but here go`s THANKYOU SO MUCH!!
Were you able to make the font large enough to be read it might have been helpful, but no way to increase font size in a video? But one problem is that when a system is so messed up that it will not boot into a disc for this method, the only option is to do it in windows itself.
Will this same procedure work on a Mac book Pro running windows 7 on a boot camp partition? My win 7 installation does NOT show up on the recovery menu after i boot from a repair disk.
hi there.when i typed the last command: e:\boot>bootsect /nt60 sys /mbr this message came: the subsystem needed to support the image type is not present. what should i do?
I like your tutorial and everything went fine as i follow it step by step but when i reach the last part it fails. It says "bootsec" is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file :'(
Unfortunately this didnt work for me. I found out my problem was slightly different. I installed a new SSD with windows 7Pro. My old raid 0 HDD already had home premium on them. When I installed 7pro, the bootmgr files were on the old HDD, so windows skipped putting it on the SSD. The only way to fix it was a clean install. lost 3 hours of installing drivers, programs etc. but maybe my lesson will help someone else.
I don't know if this will fix mine? I have a odd one.. the pc got turned off by me ( by mistake ) before it had shut down fully ( win 7 ) Then later I turned it on to get the black screen saying can't find drive? I had a BOOTDISK MBR error, I have tried many types of boot error repair idea's none have solved the fault. I tried the repair mode on the windows 7 dvd menu.. nothing.. I tried the command prompt I found "bootrec.exe/FixMbr" that also did not repair the boot sector error? So I not done yours yet, will it fix the drive error and let me access the files there?
Hello everyone! I have a FASTFIX, which fixes the system too if anyone can't do it. Go for the repair step, open cmd. (command prompt) then type: cd C: then type: bootrec /fixmbr bootrec /fixboot bootrec /scanos bootrec /rebuildbcd Then you done it, restart the pc within NOT THE CD. So, the mbr is not gonna be modified. I hope i helped anyone!
I have Windows 8.1(64 bit) installed, I don't have the CD that I used to install, it but I have another CD with windows 8.1(32 bit), so my question is, does the recovery CD have to be the same one that I used when I installed it?
