      I went with "Million Dollar Collar". Much better at keeping the collar up than this device. Each has its pro's and con's of course. MDC you have to have a tailor stitch them into the shirts you want them in. Costs money but they're guaranteed for life. This device you can fit to any shirt.... Your call gents

    First week of a new job, while we were told to dress business style they told us ties were not necessary, I did not care, 5 days later people in the office have complimented me on how well dresses I always am. Thanks to the videos Antonio. I might be the oldest, not so wise in sales but I'm bettered dressed for success.

    *On the topic of being overdressed. Common sense dictates that if you're unsure, you should always lean towards being overdressed for the occasion. The obvious reason for that is you can always "dress down" upon arrival. Tie not required? you could always take it off. Suit not needed? again take it off* .
    *The point being you can always remove layers to make the outfit more casual. What you cannot do in most circumstances is **_"dress up"_** your attire. If you arrive to an event **_"under-dressed"_** - there is hardly anything you can do at that point* .

      The bottom button of 2+ X 2+ button double breasted coats should always be buttoned when standing up and always unbuttoned when sitting down. The bottom button(s) of 2+ X 2+ button double breasted waistcoats, however, should be buttoned at all times.
      Whenever possible, I would always wear one button single breasted coats so this way when I’m not wearing a waistcoat, there’s never functionality of any functional buttons to go to waste. Also, whenever possible, I would always wear single breasted waistcoats with a recessed bottom button so I always abide by the rule of the bottom button being unbuttoned at all times yet the functionality of all of the functional buttons never goes to waste.

    Its always worth keeping the plastic / card collar guards that come with a shirt....I use them in my wardrobe to stop the collars getting crushed or creased badly, and then remove them when I put the shirt on. I add plastic collar stays to the shirt while it dries too. Get some by making them yourself....using a plastic notebook cover and a template from one of your current supply of metal stays. Use a craft knife to cut around the metal template and trim the excess using some scissors. An A4 cover will give you over 100 - so you'll never run out.

    Hey Antonio. Just throwing a suggestion for a video. So I’ve got a vacation trip to NYC coming up in August and was wondering if you could up with some style tips on how to be a “stylish tourist”. Hear me out, so as a frequent visitor to NYC I love spending an entire day walking around the city and checking out the sites. My annoyance is balancing between dressing casual since a lot of walking is involved and the summer heat in the city can get sticky. That being said I don’t want to be like every other tourist walking around in shorts looking totally clueless.....or God forbid a fanny-pack socks and sandals tourist lolol

I take them out, shake them and hang them in the closet. They are ready to wear. Get the best Italian and English mills fabric and it won't be an issue.

    It is best to utilize a cooper collar/single piece collar shirts when one is not wearing neckwear.
    Slick collar has the right idea to assist ones collar to stand up but right garment for the right function is the core of this channel, assuming fit and fabric are “nailed” already.

      I would say buy a suit for your body type now and get it altered when you reach your target weight. I wouldn't recommend altering it every time you lose weight.

      Slick collar is only necessary when neither a tie nor an ascot are worn. When a tie or an an ascot are worn (never wear both), no slick collar.

    • @dankelly
      @dankelly 5 лет назад

      @@timcorrell9863 that's true. If you're wearing a tie, this is not necessary. I wear a sport jacket and dress shirt to work every day without a tie. It's a necessity in that scenario.

    • @timcorrell9863
      @timcorrell9863 5 лет назад

      If you wear a suit or coat and no tie to anything at any frequency, yes, a slick collar is absolutely necessary when a shirt with a collar that is not button down is worn. Depending on what kind of job I get, I will wear a suit to work everyday, not at all or once a week.
      When I wear a suit, I have always worn a tie. However, I’m considering donning the suit with no tie look in situations where it’s appropriate, where I will buy two slick collars for each shirt.
      Otherwise, I will always wear a tie with a suit. For what it’s worth, a button down collar is a faux pas with a suit, where a non-button down collar is a must.
      A non-button down collar (a must with all double breasted garments and all peak and shawl lapel garments) on the other hand, can be worn with a notch lapel single breasted blazer or sport coat where a button down collar is much more proper.

    I have a style question: Is what defines "business casual" a constant? For example is "business casual" at Goldman Sachs, the same as "business casual" at Google? Is "business casual" in Sacramento, like "business casual" in Chicago? What defines it? Does the bar slide along the "business" and "casual" line? Thanks! Jeffrey
