    This is so relevant and reflective of my journey. 53 YO and had no clue. Ended up scrapping most of my old wardrobe. Proper fit and colors takes some time to figure out but it’s a fun journey. Thank you Antonio for your part in this! Very helpful!!

    As a Norwegian I like wearing a silver Mjølner :) also it fits well with my earth tones, mainly build around green, oliv, and basic neutral colors. I also made a knotted sliding leather cord for is, so I get it right where I want it

    Antonio, I've followed your vids for years. Best advice since the book "Dress For Sucess" which i followed religiously back in the 80's and embarking on my professional career. I just retired 4 months ago and I'm trying to discover/invent my new identity. Any advice for us retired guys? Cargo shorts and a T shirt is driving me nuts!

    What I realy can recommend when revamping your wardrobe is to make sure to have a list before you go shopping and stick to it. I think all of us have their favorite pieces which you might have 5+ pieces already in your closet. Check what you have and start with the things you lack and get 1-2 of each of these pieces and make sure they are neutral and versatile.

    Thank you for this video Antonio. These are key points when trying to figure one's own style. I've moved from one city to another, one industry to the next, both gained and lost weight and your videos help me adapt to these changes while maintaining consistency in trying to dress well appropriately.

    I work in Orlando and live in Dallas, so I fly back and forth fairly frequently. I generally wear a pair of chinos, good sport coat, a pair of AE dress shoes, and a fedora. The last time I flew home, a young teen guy (probably 16 or 17) totally surprised me on the way to the tram when he told he liked the way I was dressed. That made me smile, and I thanked him. There may be hope for the younger generation to have some sense of style, and yes, people do notice when you have one.

    It’s great if you can find a professional who’ll be honest, but beware commission hunters. I was in Brooks Brothers a few years ago, and the salesman was falling over himself to sell me something that I - and surely he - could see didn’t fit. Either he was devoid of taste, or was desperate for the sale.

    Finding your look is an important thing for anyone.
    One needs to be comfortable in what they wear and own it. It projects who you are to a degree.
    I am a jeans and t shirt kinda guy. Always have been.
    My future now present wife has helped my find my look.
    I used to wear ill fitting cheap Costco pants and oversized white shirts from Nordstrom rack. Along with slip on orthopedic shoes for work. I had an all in one shampoo conditioner body wash concoction for all cleansing purposes. And got a $6 haircut put into place with discount mouse.
    Slowly, she replaced my parachute white shirts with better fitting patterned shirts. Introduced me to well fitted slacks with a fine wool count. And shoes. Slip on still but much more comfortable and stylish.
    Good shampoo, real conditioner and clay for my hair.
    Finding comfortable clothes for me that was functional was a challenge for me.
    Burberry, Boss, Baker…huh, all B’s. Ford. All decent.
    Best slacks for me? Custom by my tailor. And lululemon. Comfortable and indestructible.
    Shirts. Hmmm. Boss slim fit and Neiman Marcus slim fit.
    T-shirts? Now you’re talking. I think I have about 15 Louis Vuitton t shirts. Fairly comfortable. A little warm. Not the best summer T. Hermes’ makes terrible t shirts. Don’t like Gucci.
    Honestly, the best t shirts are from places like Ross. Great selection regardless of price.
    Shoes. This is where I am super super picky. The saying clothes makes the man is a complete lie. Real fashion hounds know that shoes tell the tale of the man. The whole tale.
    Shoe selection and care is top priority for me. Casual. On running shoes. Dressy casual. LV sneakers, Givenchy sneakers and the list goes on.
    Dressy. Believe it or not. LV, Louboutin and TF makes incredibly comfortable shoes.
    TF boots are terrible. To put on and comfort wise.
    Louboutin boots are very comfortable. Once you get them on.
    My fav are Two Boots…boots. Easy to put on and comfortable.
    Socks. The second most important clothing item for a guy. This is where one gets to show their personality in the most subtle way. Btw. Ties are for tools nowadays. A real man should never feel the need to wear a tie. Except for church. Always wear a tie for church.
    Jewelry is extremely difficult to pull off for men. In reality. A man only needs a wedding ring if married. A watch is an accessory nowadays. And wearing one is optional. I’ve stopped wearing ‘luxury’ watches because, to me, are nothing but a signal of insecurity. I only wear my Apple Watch for two things. Texts when I can’t get to my phone. And to track my sleep. That’s it. As for bling bling jewelry. Make sure you can pull it off to wear. My wife and I wear bracelets we have collected in the especially fun places we’ve been to. A Tiffany from Paris. A Tiffany from Tokyo. A tiffany from New York. Huh, lots of Tiffany I just realized.
    I always wear a very thick and heavy gold chain. It’s for personal reasons. And is never hung out for display. The only way you can see it is a whisper that sticks out in the back of my neck. Again. Personal reasons. And not for public display.
    That’s my look. With it. I am extremely happy and content. As is my wife who finally helped guide me to what is best for me. She didn’t style me. She helped me figure out what I liked and what I didn’t.
    Gone are the days of bleach stained sweatpants, coffee mottled t shirts and Birkenstocks with socks when she first met me. But that’s how I looked when she fell in love with me.
    And for those who haven’t read my posts. She is a natural blonde who looks like Megan Fox/ Angelina Jolie. She is a beautiful, brainy blonde babe with boobs and booty.

    Antonio, why do you consider the classic, wide or straight leg fit a bad fit? At 3:53, there is nothing bad about the fit of those trousers. In fact, that is and was the proper trouser fit, and not that skinny stuff that you have been promoting just before.

    • @scottwallace1
      @scottwallace1 2 месяца назад +1

      It’s ultimately opinion, but what isn’t opinion and why modern fits are slimmer is that with fuller fits where there is a lot of extra fabric relative to the size of the part of the body being covered, in the mind of others, they are filling in that ‘extra’ space as being the size of the person, and thus makes that person look much larger. So, that’s why 😉

      Maybe I'm just seeing things but it looked like the legs were rolled up so maybe they were a tad too big on him.

    • @Joey21071
      @Joey21071 2 месяца назад

      @@scottwallace1 I disagree. I looked at a few pictures of suits from the fifties and even though the suit pants were higher waisted and looser in the legs than modern suit pants, the overall look didn't make the person look larger than they were.

    I had to stop the video after the good fit vs bad fit section. The bad fit to me looks more bohemian or whatever that style is. It looks more free spirited so the look works. I also disagree that if you're a business man you want your casual clothes to look a certain way in case you run into someone. Some people who wear suits everyday are into motorcycles and on the weekends, they wear stuff that fit that passion.

    • @Hooligan1646
      @Hooligan1646 2 месяца назад +8

      I think it comes down to intention. An ill fitting suit on accident=bad, looser fitting shirt/pants for that bohemian style=AWESOME. But then again I’m more of the motorcycle on the weekend look all the time😂

      @@Hooligan1646 My style changes with my mood. One day it's this, next day it can be something else. I'm not a fan of the ill fitting suit. By ill fitting I mean wrong size. To me there is a big difference between someone wearing a suit that is loose fitting and one that just doesn't fit.
