Thank you Antonio. I’ve stepped up my style game after many years of going more casual and rugged. That said, I still like more natural fabrics like cotton, silk, modal, and rayon. Collars & Co polo’s with the dress collar are all ploy/spandex. Have you tried their Maranello cotton/silk blend to know how structured their collars are?
I love the concept of Collars & Co. but not crazy about polyester. Wish they had more 100% cotton options. Great video though Antonio! As always! Thanks
I wear a lululemon long sleeve shirt under my sweaters. Thin and breathable. Antonio, your account is so valuable for those who need or want guidance in learning to dress well. I would love it if you started a series on how to build confidence. The ultimate flex.
Nice video. Just not a fan of using a zip sweater with a shirt and tie. You are better off with a blazer or sport jacket. Like all style, some guys can pull it off effortlessly and others can’t. Just a matter of preference.
I've never been much of a fan of combining a blazer or sports jacket with a tie. Or with a sweater, for that matter. I think it's a must for suits, but only then. Having said that, a cravate and blazer or sports jacket is a good choice. Through my eyes, anyway.
Imo a lot of the advice from this video can apply to adding jackets, especially in regards to contrast in fabric and color. Personally I think two looks can work really well when it comes to sweaters and jackets. One is the more casual, but more visually striking look of a turtleneck sweater with a suit, maybe throw in a draped scarf in the mix. In this case it can be fun to play with contrast a lot, for example one of my university professors was wearing a muted red turtleneck with a gray prince of wales pattern suit, with a beige scarf. He pulled it off great, but I wouldn't recommend it for more formal settings. The look I tend to go more for is a v neck sweater, with a tie underneath and either a sport coat and trousers or either way a more casual suit. I'd recommend heavier wool fabrics as the goal with this look is to make the sweater almost look like a part of the suit, still maintaining a bit of contrast, but overall maintaining a sense of cohesiveness. For example I have this olive green patterned sport coat, dark green velvet pants and an olive green v-neck sweater. I added a tie with earthy tones and an olive green paisley pocket square in a puff fold and the look was great, very elegant, definitely a bit more formal than the previous look. All of the pieces were a bit different from one another in terms of colors and fabrics, but they were close enough to form a cohesive look
Nice. The weather in the part of India where I live does not present very many opportunities to wear sweaters. But I prefer the quarter zip or the V neck the very few times I get to wear one.
Perfect timing as I had my onlune shopping cart filled with sweaters. This video helped me narrow down my choices to the best choices for me. Thank you.
As somebody from Atlanta, I find four layers to be ridiculous. But I could see three, in the absolute worst conditions. Other than that, I'd agree with everything in this video. I have the blue quarter-zip shown at 7:40, (or something close to it from C&C), as well as the the shirt on the left. I find that if I'm layering, I tend to go with a white shirt and a colored sweater, so I don't have to think much about it. The shot at 8:30 is great, because the tie's color and pattern mesh with the sweater's so perfectly.
Finally, someone who appreciates V-neck sweaters over crew neck sweaters. Crew necks doesn't look good with a collared shirt, it looks cramped up and tight. You're better off wearing no collar at all.
Yeah, with a crew neck, it just feels like you're trying too much by trying to wear a collared shirt underneath. The V-neck allows you to do more. Also, you can't really have too big of a crew neck collar or it looks dumb.
LOL. Great beginning, Antonio. Good joke!! I just noticed that watch in your intro. Nice. How about an updated watch video? Just asking... Maybe. Also, how about cravats? Thanks.
Great tips. I love the look of a sweater in the fall and winter, but TBH I hate wearing them. IMO they are too warm, itchy, and confining. Not something I wear if I want to be comfortable.
Still love wearing a cashmere waistcoat for a more (smart-)casual look, don't see anyone else wearing them but get a lot of compliemnts when I wear one. *Has nothing to do with your video necessarily, just something I don't remember you ever brought up.
Hello; I been seeing a lot of your videos awhile - both old and new content, just wanted to know how one can opt into getting your RMRS challenge coin - lot of your content has been resourceful and helpful in many ways and the written context of your challenge coin I have seen really resonate in personal sense to help get through a lot. Thank you.
As a guy who wears quarter zips regularly, my standard practice is to make sure the shirt will look good on it's own. I guarantee there will be an occasion where you need to remove your sweater. Ruminate on that for a minute. 😉
How can you hide the buttons on a button up shirt when layering with a sweater. I struggle with this because I feel it detracts from the overall look… any insight/input is appreciated!
Wow, 1/4 zips, huh? I remember having a zillion of those from BR in the '00s. They must be out of style by now, don't you think? Nonetheless, I think they look terrible on guys over 45 or 50, like cargo shorts or leather jackets. Go with a classic crew or vee neck, or even a cardigan if you can pull it off without looking like you escaped from a nursing home.
Stand up collar over a down collar is not a good look at all. The sleeves on button down shirts are way too loose for the ribbed look of a sweater. A sweater over a thermal/waffle shirt and or a sweater is the way to go. Sport coat/blazer/suit jacket or trucker jacket works with oxford, flannel, corduroy and other fabric button downs.
He's overthinking casual vs. overly casual or something and that's somehow MY mistake? That sweater looks pretty olive to me unless we're really splitting hairs from the crayon box.

The main reason why autumn is my favorite season. These combinations are beautiful.

The quarter zip sweater suggestion was very helpful. I can add one to my collection.

I'm with Senor Vasquez on this one. I also don't like zip ups of any kind.
Good timing. I just bought an olive green quarter zip sweater about a week ago. Thanks.
Could you do a video on layering sweaters and jackets. And in general dressier options for the colder months

A video on style combinations for different seasons/weather would be good.
Great channel.... never disappointing.
Man, long week,. Among other content, trying to get ready for next week, this a great video. Thanks for the content.
Great video, and very timely for me!
Aaaah just in time for the fall season. Love it. Thanks!

It happened again. RUclips suggests Antonio's video. An hour later I find myself in a store buying. And I look better😂

thanks buddy😊
How about shawl collar sweaters? What would you wear underneath?
Great tips. I love the look of a sweater in the fall and winter, but TBH I hate wearing them. IMO they are too warm, itchy, and confining. Not something I wear if I want to be comfortable.
Try light cotton sweaters
Great video, Antonio, as usual.
How do you feel about combining complementary colors side by side in one's outfit?

Any man that’ll tell you he’s wearing pants in his videos, is certainly not wearing pants in his videos.
🤣
I prefer having only one collar. There is something intentional and elegant with the simplicity.
Haaaa. Well played Antonio. How did I miss this. You had no pants on. 🙈
😂
How about a t-shirt under a 1/4 zip sweater?
How can you hide the buttons on a button up shirt when layering with a sweater. I struggle with this because I feel it detracts from the overall look… any insight/input is appreciated!
Polo sweater with a long sleeve button-down with buttoned collar shirt will that work?

Same. By the time I usually see them they have hundreds of comments.

1/4 zips are still in style. Scratch that, they’re timeless.
T-shirts and sweaters definitely screams no style sense. Makes you look like a confused teen whose mother no longer dresses him.
Still immature when the USA talk pants. Also the no pants comment at the beginning make me think he’s full ‘Winnie the Pooh’ for the rest of the video
Quarter zip is such an american thing to wear 😅
Try zip or regular cardigan better
I hate this fashion trend of layering, it even beats the sweater tied around your neck as a cape -trend
You must not be from the east coast, layering is basically a fact of life due to fall weather going from cold to hot in the same afternoon
Im from west coast, of Finland.
Yeah. You wear pants on the videos. ALL THE TIME.

Quarter zip is likely too casual for proper office use.

cashmere is softer than wool but I don't think is any warmer than merino, just costs way more.
