I got one of these new for my birthday in green back when they were new. I mostly used it for video since I wasn't really listening to music back then. The video camera was fun to play with. The next model felt really disappointing when it was announced.

With new old stock, you should charge it on the ac for several hours to regen the battery before use using the original ipod 5w charger. I have brought some old ipods back to life before with that method. Also 10w charger is a bad move, you want to charge it slowly, not accelerated.

garetz the iPod’s charge controller will limit how much power is drawn anyways.

@@kalvin126 Its not about how much it charges, its about regenerating the battery, i did this on a 30gb 5th gen and brought it back to life from lasting 5-10mins to lasting 10-12 hours. Of course it will not always work.

@garetz which apple wall charger do you suggest for the first charge of NOS iPod? I will soon open a box of iPod Nano 5th Gen. 16GB. Since battery has never charged I assume battery is weak or dead. Please let me know which wall charger I have to use to regen the battery.

You know, all things considered, the video camera itself isn't that bad. The mic is less than desireable due to the noise, but overall I'd say it looks pretty good compared to other non-video recorder video recorders out there from around the same time.

I always thought it was funny the nano 5 had a camera. The concept of a camera on an iPod just seems so weird.
