I've been a silent viewer of yours for years, but I wanted to comment how much i appreciate your videos!! I've been having a hard time recently as my grandfather is in the hospital. I was having an extra hard night, so I turned on this video and (as with all your videos) I felt so much comfort and coziness. These videos feel like a safe space and I am so grateful ❤️🩹
Running tip: slow down. Walk when you need to. It will get easier, you’ll get to where you can run the whole time, and it will turn into that “Sunday morning clear your mind” kind of run. Also bring water. It really helps!
Hahahah as a fellow Dutchie living in Amsterdam I laughed so hard when you talked about the 'uniform'. Here I am, currently wearing an oversized, second-hand blouse, together with hoop earrings, docs and my hair in a clip. And I have that same bag in burgundy ahaha
Running newbie here who never thought she would be able to enjoy a run and just let me tell you, it's possible to hate it in the beginning and still learn to enjoy it. Would really recommend the zombies, run! 5K app (not the normal one, the 5K one). It's a training program but in the beginning it's mostly walking with just these tiny 15 seconds runs AND you get to listen to these little roleplaying story clips that makes it much more fun. I'm now that annoying person that love to start my day with a run, even though I'm doing it veeeery slowly (that's allowed to!). Gonna stop talking about running now. :)
in my experience, "running to clear my mind" doesn't mean my mind is clear when i'm running, it means when i'm running i'm really fucking emotional-even if that day the feeling is frustration or embarrassment-and then AFTER i feel clear. 😇 maybe that's what you were already thinking, but i didn't realize it immediately so i hope it helps. 🥰
Cats do what cats want to do. Love how you found your book at your local bookstore and how you shopped with your herbs in hand. The whole vibe is awesome.
You talking about your fashion and the leather jacket your mom lent you was wonderful! And i will say its definitely not just the Netherlands that fashion exists XD Im from the US and an Iranian friend of mine a couple years back, she loved high waisted jeans + button shirt combo, and i actually bought her a leather jacket from a thrift when we went shopping together once. We were both art students at the time as well hahaha.
To quote one of the greatest shows of all time, Bojack Horsemen, when the titular characters attempts to run: "It does get easier. You just have to do it everyday. That's the hard part."
Basic is in the eye of the beholder. I think your style is retro and I love it because you are excited and comfortable about your clothing choices. It's the person that makes the clothes not the clothing making the person. Just stumbled across this video and loved it! Keep being you!
And a little tip for running. It helped me a lot to listen to a really good audiobook while running, so i can concentrate on the story and not on my exhausted legs or lungs or whatever. And running really slow when you are still a beginner is totally fine. Often people say, you have to be able to hold a conversation while running, then it is the right speed. Maybe this will help :)
Haven't finished the vid yet but I'm loving your side vlogs so much! They are so cozy and somehow gentle, I've been watching them between my schoolwork and they prevent me from stressing out
Ugh, I related so much to hating running!! I will never do that in my life. I’m also an extra-chill-stay-at-home girly, so yoga and barre, under soft light and whatever clothes you have on, is THE THING. It motivates me to exercise because it’s so calming and I can do it right there, in front of the tv, no going out. I hope you find your own way of staying active, that goes with your self-care; this was just my suggestion from my own experience. All the love to you, keep the cozy vlogs coming, they are now essential to my routine :))) ❤
leonie i've been watching your videos for over two years now, and you're my favorite youtuber ever. i love your cozy, slow content!! your personality and your book taste make your videos so fun and calming to watch, and because of you i've started dutch lessons on duolingo :) your occasional chats about society and its flaws are so interesting, and you're so well spoken! love you
Leonie, Just like anything running takes a progressive approach to build up to the point of being that “goal runner”. Years ago I followed the “Couch to 5k” program which has several apps that give you alternating timings of jogging/walking to build up the ability to run for more sustained times. I have also found that thinking of running as a “quest” type situation helps the mental hurdle of going out for the run. Love both your channels ❤
Love a LOTR marathon! I'm actually going to New Zealand soon to visit Hobbiton! I re-read Wuthering Heights recently, and honestly just about every person is toxic and terrible, but I loved it 😄
In my part of Canada, the trend is what we call Granny Pants for some reason, lol. They're these pants that seem like a combination of vinyl and cotton with an endlessly stretchy waistband. They come in really basic pastel colours like toothpaste green and lavender, and are super high-waisted. They're made for comfort and ease more than anything, that's why you primarily see grandmas wearing them once they reach 60+. But, right now they're becoming super popular among university students and young professionals, usually with a monochrome button-up blouse tucked into them.
I really enjoy your vlogs! 💜 And you are so right about being "basic". Have you SEEN men? Men are incredibly basic in their fashion 😂Let girls be basic too!
@@piettromartins122so true. Unless it's high fashion or a full on suit. We don't get the frills and patterns and poofy sleeves (not everyone wants that ofcourse) but with men's clothing there's just less options
@@piettromartins122 agree, in fact I started to lean towards more "femenine" clothing lately, or find ways to combine different outfits together. I'm a heterosexual man. When its done right, it looks and feels amazing. That being said though, I think fashion its just a way to express yourself. Some days I like to wear something very "masculine 80s punk scene" like Henry Rollins under Black Flag. Like basic, minimal predictable but very masculine man. Other times I feel like experimenting with different things, despite the "genre" tendency that the outfit might generate. It results in interesting combinations that suits me very well, and I get compliments from women and men alike. At the end of the day, It's a matter of express that feeling you have that day through the cloths you wear. Just don't fear to go for it!
living vicariously by vids like this as fall isn't really a thing in the city i live in and it's summer pretty much 11 months of the year but i do get up to the cozy activities like listening to cozy audiobooks and drawing while drinking tons of tea. a fun time!
I love your fall vlogs!! In the past, I always kind of struggled with fall, but last year, i made it my mission to enjoy autumn and here we are now, excited about it. I live in Germany and yes, your outfit would absolutely fit into that stereotype here as well haha, but that might just be because I live literally 1 hour away from the Netherlands
I feel you Leonie. I am always late with autumn decor shopping, even though I love autumn decor. To be fair, this summer stretched out forever with that ridiculously warm September. I saw it was going to be 21°C tomorrow (today) still, so it's still confusing to me. I also always feel like they go from summer decor straight to Christmas decor. I'm still going to try though
i love this channel !!!!... i love the main channel's content a lot as well obviously but this one has some of your older vedios' vibes... that just hits the perfect cozy spot in my heart... thank you for making all these vedios... i love them!!!... ❤❤❤
2 minutes is a great start!! Keep going and adding a bit of time when you run, whether it’s an extra 15 seconds or 2 minutes! I promise it will build and not feel so terrible - consistency is key!! ❤❤ I was in the same place when I started about a year ago and now I’m training for a half marathon 😊
i am so very glad for these vlogs! They are so well edited and your whole vibe, looks and daily life that you show make the transition into autumn much more colorful, warm and cozy
Running is alwaaays awkward and really hard when you are starting out. I went from where you are to a half marathon in about ~10 months, so you can definitely learn to love it though! I recommend finding a ‘couch to 5k’ plan that alternates running/walking. Also for your phone/keys, running belts are a thing! But you could also just take a spare house key and tie it into your laces or something and then hold your phone. Good luck!
Regarding running - make sure you're doing strengthening exercises alongside running. Also two minutes is fine! Just keep going, tell yourself 2.5 minutes next time, then 3. Call it good there. If you can keep up consistency (twice a week at a minimum) you'll improve very quickly. But I beg that you do strengthening exercises or you will injure yourself.
I think your "creative city girl" outfit is very popular here in Sweden too. I went to an artsy high school where all the cool kids looked like that (this was between 2016 and 2019) and now more than just the artsy cool kids wear that kind of style here.
I never understood the whole "basic" thing. If you look at history, I think there's always been a majority that wore the same/similar style. It's cool to look back at the 20s, 30s, 40s fashion (or centuries before) and see that people typically wore the same outfits as everyone else. Nowadays it's somehow seen as a negative thing, as if we all have to have our own curated wardrobe that's completely specific to us.
The first time I ever read The Hobbit and LotR was in the fall maybe 20 years ago now (wow I just dated myself lol), and I was big into Led Zeppelin at the time, so I would be on the train reading those books while listening to Led Zeppelin when I realized that some of the songs were mentioning things in the books! So of course I looked it up and found out that they were big fans of the books and put a lot of references into their songs, and I thought that was the coolest thing!
Leonie you're amazing for going for that run!! People have probably already suggested this, but the Couch to 5k program is excellent for building some cardio stamina. Then you can do your little Sunday morning jogs and then go get brunch or coffee!
I remade made my room during the summer cause I had a bit of time and I thought I was done with the mood and vibes I wanted to create in general until Christmas decorations and vibes would be up but now I feel the urge to make it even more Fall decor 🙈 So thank you for that! Loved the LoTR marathon and hobbit meals too!
Hi, I am new to your channel, and I am so glad that I've found you. Your content is everything I enjoy on the internet :) Thank you for creating these nice cosy vlogs!
I've never watched Gilmore Girls, although I've seen snippets of episodes when it first aired, if I was wandering through a room when it was on. I decided to give it a try and watched the first episode this week. I enjoyed it but my husband decided it wasn't for him about five minutes in. I'm not sure if it aged well and the banter is so fast I'm struggling to catch it all. But I do want to watch another episode. I just have to convince my husband I'm not trying to make his brain melt. LOL
I've been loving your vlog content too, Leonie! This format is just perfect. What a cozy way to start my day. Oh, and that pita bread meal looked delish. Marinated oyster mushrooms are my new obsession and now I need to make some pita bread to go with it I guess. :DD
your propagation station is so cute! i have a string of hearts plant as well and just so you know it is technically a succulent! so when you want to use a snip to make a new plant you can't really propagate it but if you just stick the cut end into dirt it will root! i tried to do the same thing with putting the ends in water and my mom had to correct me haha
I've hated running my whole life and this year t 26 I discovered low heart-rate-running, where you keep your heart-rate around 150bpm and you do have to go very slow, but I found to really enjoy running this way, and slowly getting better :)
I always get such a cozy autumnal feeling whenever i watch your vlogs. The editing is just perfect! ❤ As for the outfit: I‘m from south Germany and while i would say it definitely gives of an artsy vibe, I don‘t think anyone here would consider it as basic. And just in case you ever want to try running again: I don‘t like it much myself but what really helped was when my mom taught me you should start in intervals. So: 2 min running - 2 min walking Next time: 2 min running - 1 min walking Next time: 3 min running - 1 min walking. And so on. Hope this helps and lots of love 🍁🌻
Loved your chat on being "basic" 😄 Where I live (rural Northern Norway), "basic" is: jeans, some kind of simple non-descript sweater (probably wool), a shell jacket and hiking boots. Women and men of all ages wear this. To work, to the grocery store, when going on walks, doing yard work, whatever. It's so ingrained here that although I don't like wearing that particular combination of clothes, wearing *anything else* makes me feel like I'm sticking out from the crowd... 🤣
The kitten!! 😻 also love that you put subtitles when you speak with your friends. I appreciate it! Would love a video of you speaking Dutch but I know how painful that might be to subtitle the whole thing.
try the c25k running program! it's a mix of brisk walking and running, gradually increasing the time of running and decreasing walking the more often you do it. consistency is key there and it makes it much less exhausting :) speaking from a person who hated running and exercise
Of all the books you could have chosen, you pulled Wuthering Heights out of the shelf at the store - this is very funny to me because just yesterday I tried to find that exact copy for a customer and we didn't have it in stock after all, so now I know where it is :D it escaped to the Netherlands!
I'm currently reading the fellowship of the ring so this was such a perfect vlog ❤🍄 For the running: I can highly highly recommend the couch to 5K programme! It starts with 1 min run - 1.5 min walk intervals so it's a very low threshold start. The guidance of the programme really helped me stick to it when I first started running 😁 Don't be intimidated because they do three runs a week, just do the next run whenever you feel like it
Ahh the cats were adorablee, also im from the uk and i would say your outfit is definately not basic, i would see that outfit as a oh shes got her life together type look ahah ❤
Had to laugh, hearing you talk about running clothes, since lots of folks here in the Pacific Northwest, get dressed up for running, with special shoes and special clothing. My thought: Forget running, walking is much better for your knees and for your health. My youngest son runs because he is a firefighter, and he has to stay in excellent shape for his job. But for normal people, walking is wonderful, you actually see what is around you. This is especially true here in Oregon, where it constantly rains, so walking with an umbrella is much better than running in the middle of a rainstorm!
About the sports situation : I was "forced" to get more active due to a tendonitis recently (save those shoulders muscles !), and I started doing some workout/diy aquaform in the local public swimming pool with my friend... I'm surprisingly loving it, would recommand ! Especially if you hate sweat ! Also considering to try ballet-fitness classes soon :) Good luck with the fit journey !
In the last part of the video where you were on your room talking about the books that you are reading your eyes look like the eyes of the characters in Dune.
Loved watching this video❤️ It felt so cozy.🍂 I started rewatching Gilmore Girls and I totally forgot how funny it is and how much I liked it😂 I watched it about 5 years ago, in spring/summer time😂 But now I'm watching it during fall instead and it's really nice to watch it on a rainy day, like today was.🥰
re the running: i'm also not a fan BUT it got much better for me after i realised that i need to run a lottt slower than i thought i had to. before, i also only managed a couple minutes, but once i slowed down a lot, around 30 mins felt completely fine (i.e., as fine as running can ever feel). not sure if that also applies to you, but if you want to give running another shot, that might be the way to go :)
Every video of yours that I watch you mention one of my favourite things 😅 lotr, good omens, Neil Gaiman, Hozier (Francesca). Love the outfits and meal ideas (especially since I'm also vegetarian lmao) great video 🧡
I started doing the none 2 run programme last year. I highly recommend it as it has periods of walking. I can't get into a routine and have yet to do a full proper run but I figure if I get out there and do something that's good enough!
Maybe it’s far from where you live, but in Leiden there are a few shops that sell decorations that you will like. They are in the street where the city hall is which runs parallel to the Oude Rijn. There are also 4 book stores there. My wife loves that place, she spent too much money on decorations when she was living there.
I hate running too, but what I do, and what you can do, is going for a bike ride, it's far more enjoyable. Although you have to do it for a little longer. But that is my advice. I hate exercising too.
This vlogs about autumn make me feel depressed, i live in Portugal and it's literally 30⁰ celcius above every goddam day. It's october but the summer weather stills, i literally went to the beach this saturday. This looks amazing for some people but autumn it's my favourite season and i'm soo tired of the hot weather.
If you want your flowers to stay upright and not splay open, maybe u can use a flower frog. It's actually used for real flowers, but there are many variations. I'm sure you can find something for artificial ones
Autumn makes you shine differently somehow Leonie.
I love the idea of having the hobbit meals while watching LOTR, so perfect for Autumn 🍂

The cats were so adorable and sweet. 🐈⬛🐈⬛ Even one of my cats begs for food at the table.
The vlog was so wonderful.

As for the outfit: I‘m from south Germany and while i would say it definitely gives of an artsy vibe, I don‘t think anyone here would consider it as basic.
And just in case you ever want to try running again: I don‘t like it much myself but what really helped was when my mom taught me you should start in intervals.
So: 2 min running - 2 min walking
Next time: 2 min running - 1 min walking
Next time: 3 min running - 1 min walking. And so on.
Hope this helps and lots of love 🍁🌻
Aww I enjoyed watching this so much. Nothing is better than being festive with friends ❤
I cackled at "I feel like I'm cosplaying someone who runs" and "ugh I can't bring a bag" lmao
Loved your chat on being "basic" 😄
Where I live (rural Northern Norway), "basic" is: jeans, some kind of simple non-descript sweater (probably wool), a shell jacket and hiking boots.
Would love a video of you speaking Dutch but I know how painful that might be to subtitle the whole thing.
try the c25k running program! it's a mix of brisk walking and running, gradually increasing the time of running and decreasing walking the more often you do it. consistency is key there and it makes it much less exhausting :) speaking from a person who hated running and exercise
omg the LOtR marathon with full 8 course meal look life restoring, I'm so happy for you
Of all the books you could have chosen, you pulled Wuthering Heights out of the shelf at the store - this is very funny to me because just yesterday I tried to find that exact copy for a customer and we didn't have it in stock after all, so now I know where it is :D it escaped to the Netherlands!
wait your town is called Leiden? Thats .. thats the German word for suffering xD oh no
the uniqlo bag is also very popular here in canada!
I'm currently reading the fellowship of the ring so this was such a perfect vlog ❤🍄 For the running: I can highly highly recommend the couch to 5K programme! It starts with 1 min run - 1.5 min walk intervals so it's a very low threshold start. The guidance of the programme really helped me stick to it when I first started running 😁 Don't be intimidated because they do three runs a week, just do the next run whenever you feel like it
Love this so much! This looks like an ideal day and great friends ❤️
the vibes are immaculate✨️🍂
Aww the little ghosties are so cute!
I just woke up to this. awwww I truly loveeeee your vlogs. I'm so glad you made this channel.😘🧡🖤🤎
I love how cozy your vlogs are
Only two Dutch runners I know are Femke Bol and Leonie. You have to slowly build up your endurance. No one is great at first. Proud of you.
About the sports situation : I was "forced" to get more active due to a tendonitis recently (save those shoulders muscles !), and I started doing some workout/diy aquaform in the local public swimming pool with my friend... I'm surprisingly loving it, would recommand ! Especially if you hate sweat !
Also considering to try ballet-fitness classes soon :)
Good luck with the fit journey !
This is a such a cozy, calming video :)
thanks :D
I can't watch right now but I'm so happy you post on this channel more! ❤ I love your vibe.
would love to hear more of your thoughts as you go along watching the show
Maybe it’s far from where you live, but in Leiden there are a few shops that sell decorations that you will like. They are in the street where the city hall is which runs parallel to the Oude Rijn. There are also 4 book stores there. My wife loves that place, she spent too much money on decorations when she was living there.
I have been living in the Netherlands for 5 years and I confirm the outfit thing, I am not Dutch and I already look like that. But I love it! 😅
Love ur vlogs as always and it’s so beautiful
WHY DO I LOVE YOUR VLOGS SO MUCH JEEZ
Such a cozy and amazing vlog, give me such a peace! Thanks for sharing Leo ❤
Love the jacket and the fit overall. Here in Rome the uniqlo bag is considered a capital fashion sin tho.
Leonie, you are a truly delightful person and I love your Autumn-y vibes--I needed this before the upcoming week. Thank you!
you and your friends seem like such fun people to hang out with!!
I love your new bed set! It fits your vibe so well 🖤
I love your vlogs
I love this super cosy autumn feel 🥰
100% right about the outfit, it’s absolutly the same in Sweden😂
