Love it when the composer covers his own song originally performed by a 10 year old musical genius. The team that wrote the music with Baby Fuzz encouraged Angelina to record this. For whatever reason, her family declined to release it. These same writers, Ronny Janssen and Aksel Carlson, corroborated with Angelina on Shield as is noted in the credits on the live video. Somewhere in the past I read that there is a family vid of Angelina singing an early version of Shield in the car when on the way home from this studio when she was 10.

The original artist, Brandon Lowry (aka Baby FuZz), asked who he should send his song out to for a demo recording. They all pointed him to 10 year old Angelina Jordan. Due to the content of the song being about suicide, Angelina's parents didn't want their 10 year old's demo to be released. Thus, this song was almost lost to the world. That is, until someone with access to it "leaked" it to the world 2 years later. This accompanying fan-made video was equally amazing.

There’s no solid evidence out there that supports that rumor about her mother. It could have just as easily been the fact that her mother and her uncle could see this was hit song potential and didn’t think AJ was ready, at age 10, to launch. Or it could be they didn’t own the rights to the song. There’s any number of reasons it didn’t happen. For whatever reason, and the only people who know aren’t talking, it will forever be the worldwide number 1 hit that should have been, but never was.

I've seen other people getting confused here. While the Stargate duo (Tor Erik Hermansen, Mikkel Storleer Eriksen) is also of Norwegian origin (now living in LA, just as Angelina), they were not involved here, but contacted Angelina only after she was on AGT. Here three other Norwegians were involved, which created the song with Baby FuzZ, and then also worked with Angelina on Shield, namely Aksel Carlson, Frida Amundsen and Ronny Janssen.
Listen to the song again with the perspective that she’s not singing about another person but to herself. Some of the lyrics make more sense that way. Just a thought.

appropriate for her 10 year old daughter to use lyrics pertaining to a drowning-like
suicide. Therefore, only this demo exists.
There’s no solid evidence out there that supports that rumor about her mother. It could have just as easily been the fact that her mother and her uncle could see this was hit song potential and didn’t think AJ was ready, at age 10, to launch. Or it could be they didn’t own the rights to the song. There’s any number of reasons it didn’t happen. For whatever reason, and the only people who know aren’t talking, it will forever be the worldwide number 1 hit that should have been, but never was.

This is what you get when you give 10 year old Angelina a demo tape. Hope Stargate learned their lesson.
I've seen other people getting confused here. While the Stargate duo (Tor Erik Hermansen, Mikkel Storleer Eriksen) is also of Norwegian origin (now living in LA, just as Angelina), they were not involved here, but contacted Angelina only after she was on AGT. Here three other Norwegians were involved, which created the song with Baby FuzZ, and then also worked with Angelina on Shield, namely Aksel Carlson, Frida Amundsen and Ronny Janssen.

We can remember that she won Norway’s got talent with a suicide song of Billie Holiday’s. Maybe it’s lucky for her. I don’t really notice what a song is about, the melody, the voice, more important generally.
