I think its a great idea to include Skip Talbot...it would have been even better if he had Pecos Hank in it... Only the Chaser, Weather, and RUclips communities would know who they are, and it would make it just that must cooler
A movie like this should really have more cameo's. Imagine seeing Hank just casually walk thru the background of a scene at a gas station or something...
Hank, I'm an old fart weather nut. You have brought so much pure joy into my life that I just wanted to post a heartfelt "thank you" to you. You deserve the best, and I'm so happy for you that your work made it into a movie! Stay safe and keep bringing us into the eye of the storm. Happy Trails!
You know why they used your footage, Hank? Because you're smart, calm, you hold a steady shot, and you're not whopping and hollering and swearing. I'm so proud of you and happy for you. Congratulations!!!
I know people think this movie is goofy and kinda stupid, but honestly I enjoyed it. There were some "uh, okay then" moments, but all in all it was entertaining. My brain kept yelling at me it's stupid you can't be enjoying this but I honestly did. What I like the most about this movie was the storm sequences, the lighting and atmosphere were really well done. If I were in that situation I honestly would be terrified. Plus the fact that this is mostly compositing is incredible. It made the movie feel "accessible" that it wasn't made on some huge multi-million dollar budget.
that was one of my main critiques of the film(that and the goofy mesonet props, plus that random roof mounted home weather station on a professional chaser vehicle). It was hard to tell what mood it was going for. Some times it tried to be more serious, other times it was very wild and full of action like twister. For example, the pool scene(you'll get what I mean when you see it). Here's my thoughts. It feels kinda cliche in parts, but I think the writing was well meaning. As for the action scenes, don't take it too seriously, just enjoy the ride.
1 thing I was nitpicking at was the van going in "reverse" but the reverse lights weren't on, very easy to make them come on without actually being in reverse. thought that was an easy mistake
I am not surprised your videos made it into a Hollywood production. The quality of your work is very dramatic and technically very solid. It is already cinematic-ready. Look forward to seeing it here in Australia.
Inasmuch as I'm glad you're having fun with the Hollywood connection, I'm already satisfied with Hank's actual videos. Way more real and exciting than any Hollywood fiction.
I’ve already watched Supercell twice! It hits different emotional points from Twister but it’s such a breath of fresh air to hear a weather movie talk actual meteorology and recapitulate the chasing experience. The music was top notch and your footage was pristine. That March 16 storm passing through DFW also happened to be the same that some of my friends had to shelter in place for at a furry convention! Funny how those came together by coincidence.
I sure hope it's better than Twister because that was a really bad movie and it didn't come close to living up to all the hype. The story was goofy, the special effects weren't that good, and the acting was terrible. Helen Hunt was totally mis-cast into that part (and she just doesn't fit into any serious roll) and then Bill Paxton almost single handily ruined the whole movie.
@Achronym And now I feel old...one of my favorite movies as a child. As and Adult have to suspend some disbelief, but I think I have more fun picking it apart especially since I've started watching meteorologists and them explaining what's going on on the radar and such. As a kid it was awesome and thrilling (and can't remember which park in Florida had it but the ride terrified me as a child and was very underwhelming as an adult). I watch it every storm season and I live near the edge of Tornado Ally. We had more as a kid though since Tornado Ally has shifted a bit East and leaving us out of the fun more often. Fun being relative, they can stay in open fields thank you very much.
"Nuttier than squirrel shit" is a great colloquialism! Your footage was already famous, Hank, but now it's Hollywood famous, too! Happy for you, sir. Your hard work is recognized by the big screen and all the little screens alike!
Alec Baldwin made me not want to watch this movie but Pecos Hank being involved with the movie definitely makes me want to watch it! Very excited for you Hank!!!
Hi Hank. Right now I'm sitting on my porch in the Texas Hill Country watching a thunderstorm roll in. Storms round here have been beautiful this year. Hope you're having a good year
This looks incredible. As someone who's worked on a passion project for over 4 years, I totally get and respect the level of work that goes into something like this. Thank you for treating the audience like intelligent people by not cheaping out on details. Knowing Hank's footage is in this makes this so much better. And Skip Talbot is in it? That's awesome! I'm not a chaser - I live in CA, and you can't chase earthquakes - but I do have an interest in chasing and weather, so I'm at least familiar with the easter eggs mentioned. I know you're going to not like me saying I loved "Twister" (I was 15 when it came out - always loved storms. this movie kicked it into high gear), but I'm mentioning this because of one thing I noticed in Rabbit's truck; the protective goggles hanging behind him. The director thought to include that small detail of safety equipment that hardly anyone would notice. It's details like this that make make a difference. Sure, not everyone will notice it, but a lot of people will, and those people will have respect for the creator, because the creator had respect for them. "Where's the road, Rabbit?" is something I've been saying ever since. :)
Just rented it here on RUclips and I'm enjoying myself. It's an obvious low-budget movie with some rough feathering and one obvious cut in the middle of a serious scene but watching this video before made my enjoyment of the movie so much greater. The director seems like an awesome guy. It's cool to know the storm scenes are real footage and to see the dedication to honoring storm chasing.
I can appreciate newer storm movies but nothing will ever beat twister. I remember being in like kindergarten seeing it at the drive-in. That movie just keeps giving and giving
This movie is phenomenal! The fact that the time and effort were taken to pick out real and situationally appropriate sky footage throughout this film is deeply appreciated by those of us who have chased and stood in the midst of real supercells. It made this film absolutely believable and immersive. Not only that, but the radar and weather dialog are bang on. One of the character's descriptions of the storm breathing in and out was perfect for how these storms really behave as they cycle. Twister has been my no-contest all-time favourite tornado movie since I saw it in the theatre at age 11 but Supercell may have just displaced it. This film came from a place of love for storms and storm chasers and it shows, especially in the inclusion of Hank's footage and in Skip's cameo.
Nice! I just watched supercell a week or so ago and I was amazed at how photogenic some of the shots were, figures that some of it was your handiwork! Good show, Hank!
Back in 2019,my house was very close to an ef4 tornado and it demolished most parts of my county,i was very traumatized by it and watching your videos made me have less panic attacks when wind was blowing hard.thanks hank
Right on, Pecos Hank and Skip Talbot. Looking forward to seeing the film. Thank you for years of important storm footage and analysis. You've made meteorology palatable and comprehensive. "Its not THAT the wind is blowin', its WHAT the wind is blowin'."
I saw the movie a couple weeks ago. Was really cool to watch it knowing your footage played such a big role, and seeing your name (at least a couple times!) in the credits. Your footage in a feature film. Your footage in the Arcade Fire (my ❤️ band) video for “The Lightning I,II” out a year ago…been quite the 12 months! Happy for all kinds of extra eyes getting to see your work. Congrats!!!
I actually just caught this for the first time last night on Amazon rental. Has to be the best chasing related movie I've seen. Really captured it pretty well. That night scene where they just sat in the lightning on the back of the supercell, can't tell you how many times have had that exact same experience and it felt real in the movie. Of course I recognized your footage throughout. I kept thinking, may I bet Hank made out like a biscuit hound from this movie!
Grats mate and grats on a million subs. "Hardcore easter eggs"? Dude, that is old school *authenticity*. Not only is your footage in a movie, it's a movie by a chaser for other chasers. That's top shelf stuff. You absolutely rock.
I think its a great idea to include Skip Talbot...it would have been even better if he had Pecos Hank in it... Only the Chaser, Weather, and RUclips communities would know who they are, and it would make it just that must cooler

Hank, I’ve been with you here for a long time. Thank you for the education you provide to so many; often times an education sticks because of who the professor is, as well as what sort of context and beauty, the lessons are taught with. In this realm,, you are a modern Socrates.

Of course I'll find this movie and watch, riveted, as I do every thunderstorm and every tornado video. Much respect and gratitude for all you do.
Well done Pecos, your storm footage is always superb, they are extremely lucky to be able to feature it in their movie, I can’t wait to see the film,I know I will enjoy it no matter what anyone else says about it.

I had not heard about the release of this movie at all! One to add to the must-watch list. Congratulations on your involvement in this, I hope it is fun to see.

Twister is my all time favorite movie. When into the storm came out I was happy but let down. This movie gives me the same feeling as watching twister does. I'm hyped!
Yeeeessss!!! The excitement is unreal when i see a new upload from Pecos Hank! Thanks for entertaining us and educating us all these years Hank. Love ya
Man! I am so happy for Hank to have his work recognized as the incredible resource it is for both truth and fiction....hope he got paid well for it, too! Totally deserved, utterly awesome, and...nope, not gonna go watch. Much prefer watchink the pure and relatively peaceful footage here with Hank. Congratulations, Hank, many more happy returns of fortune to you!!
This is amazing! I’m not a weather expert or tornado chaser but I can imagine how much someone who is would appreciate the time that was spent to include real footage and knowledge into the movie.
I just watched Supercell and I love it. It is good to know you actually took some of the footage from a real chaser and one of the greats Pecos Hank. And, You made it from a real chaser's point of view. It reminds me of some of the stuff that Tim Samaras filmed. R.I.P. Tim.
Hank, you put so much effort, heart and soul into everything you do! Totally awesome and well-deserved that some of your videographic works become part of a movie! I haven't been to a movie in several years. It's beyond time to see one. Think it might be a movie called Supercell.😊❤
CONGRATULATIONS HANK!!! I am very happy for you. It honestly brings me joy to see how far you have come, and to see you successful. You work hard, you have immense passion, and a love for your field. You deserve this. Seriously, I am happy for you. Congratulations!!
That's very cool, Hank. Congrats. I hope you get to do some more sciencey storm stuff this summer and it'd be great to see you playing a major role in a more educational programme on the storms and weather of central and southern America.
I always recommend your channel for the most amazing storm footage I've ever seen, and it's awesome to see your work featured like this! Amazing stuff!
I’ve yet to see tornado footage better than Hank’s. I look forward to it every year like a kid at Christmas 😁 It’s only right that your work would be selected for a movie called “Supercell” 🌪️ Congrats Hank 🥳🎉
Randomly stumbled upon this movie the other week and was curious if they had worked with any chasers on the details in it. Cool to see your footage was actually part of it.
Absolute biggest congrats to you! You have done so well over these last few years! Your footage is the best, and I am glad that it is recognized and used in a movie like this! Well done! .
Hitting the big time!! watched the movie last week and must say congrats to you. Your footage included in the film was an excellent breath of fresh air vs cgi.
i saw the movie. I was underwhelmed big time. i wanted more tornadoes and sitting on the edge of your seat with a really interesting storyline. I would love to see you make a movie Hank I enjoy all your videos.
I actually watched the film a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it a lot. I went in expecting it to be a cheesy mess, and while it certainly did have some moments, I honestly enjoyed the whole feel of the film. Pretty cool to know that your work was also in the film!
Congrats Hank on getting your footage in the movie! I think I speak for everyone when I say you only deserved this!
Real tornado footage is obviously better than fake cgi footage
They are very real indeed from Hank's extensive image library he has personally shot over the years.
I think its a great idea to include Skip Talbot...it would have been even better if he had Pecos Hank in it...

There wasn't enough money to do any good stuff for that movie it seems.
Or he could get sucked up by the tornado and fly by the camera with his balls in his hand yelling "EAT MY TITS IT'S A TORNADUHHHHH"
Maybe we’ll see something like that in the new Twisters movie since it’ll have a much bigger budget
Or have him in the background rescuing a turtle from the road

he was in it he just looked different
Definitely!
I’m kinda glad he didn’t tbh. The movie was hilariously terrible.

Twister is my all time favorite movie. When into the storm came out I was happy but let down. This movie gives me the same feeling as watching twister does. I'm hyped!
Congrats on getting your footage in the movie Hank, that's pretty awesome! Hoping it comes out in down under Australia.

Thank you. I would have 100% seen the movie, but the mere mention of Baldwin changes everything.
I still can't find closer to healing the song 😭😭😭 Movie looks sick btw 💯
This is so cool! I didn't even know this movie was a thing, but now I kinda wanna go see it
I love seeing a new Pecos Hank notification pop up on my screen! Keep up the good work, and Happy Trails!!!
Make sure Baldwin doesn't "accidentally" throw someone in a tornado 😂😮
Congrats on getting your footage in the film, you really do have some of the best footage out there
Best storm chaser on RUclips
This is amazing! I’m not a weather expert or tornado chaser but I can imagine how much someone who is would appreciate the time that was spent to include real footage and knowledge into the movie.
1:46 ALEC BALDWIN?! Don’t let him shoot anything, even footage.
Glad I’m not the only one who thought that.
This is not about Alec Baldwin, this is about Pecos Hank and his contribution to that movie.
@@PM-vv3uc obviously, but it seemed like Alex Baldwin wasn’t working.
Congratulations Hank and everyone else involved. Job well done
so excited for you Hank! i've been subscribed for years! your storm chasing videos are superb! you get amazing shots, and i love your editing.
Your passion and contribution to the "tornado scene" and the tornado science is irreplaceable and I'm really thankful for what you do.
Well done!
.
Good luck on your tornado chase hope u have gotten some good shots looking forward to seeing the results
Hitting the big time!! watched the movie last week and must say congrats to you. Your footage included in the film was an excellent breath of fresh air vs cgi.
You’ve shown me the beauty that Mother Nature can make and I thank you for that:) keep up the great work
This is so fantastic!!!!! Also-THANK YOU for being so kind to animals
i saw the movie. I was underwhelmed big time. i wanted more tornadoes and sitting on the edge of your seat with a really interesting storyline. I would love to see you make a movie Hank I enjoy all your videos.
Best channel !! Long live Pecos Hank 🎉 thanks for posting
Can’t wait to see that wedge tornado in the movie
This is awesome! really happy to see your part in this movie!
I actually watched the film a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it a lot. I went in expecting it to be a cheesy mess, and while it certainly did have some moments, I honestly enjoyed the whole feel of the film. Pretty cool to know that your work was also in the film!
Well done Hank! Always love your videos and to see them on the big screen must be a great moment for yourself!!!
I just saw this on Amazon not 30 minutes ago and you posted this. I’m now gonna watch it what a coincidence
