Libertarians actually know how to shrink the government and the causes of inflation. So when you get con men like Donald Trump who preach one thing, but policies don’t match the philosophy. Libertarians won’t believe it bc they actually care about policy and not the man behind it like MAGA crowd.
Libertarians want protectionism, red flag laws, unlimited foreign aid to Israel, continued persecution against Snowden? MAGA movement is not pro liberty. Under Trump we had a greatest attack on civil liberties during the pandemic brought to you in part by his administration.

The way I see it is Trump inherited the disaffected GOP voters that were pushing Herman Cain to the top of the polls. The TEA movement was Cain's MAGA, but there were many GOP voters who didn't understand the FAIRTAX and were not TEA but were going to support Cain. These voters, fed up with the establishment GOP, pushed Trump over the top in 2016 but were slowly alienated by Trump's political missteps/abrasiveness. More adroit political instincts and a harder line against debt would have allowed him to keep these along with the MAGA base in 2020.

As a libertarian I’ve never been more disappointed in my party for their failure to play the long game. Vivek is an amazing communicator. VP is not the best position for him since it is usually a silent one. He should be in a high exposure position in Trump's administration and then run for President in 2028 or later since he is young.

I wonder if those early 2008/2012 caucus’ and primaries were on the up and up. It was highly unlikely that Ron Paul could have won the Republican nomination, let alone a general election, even if the elections were 100% free and fair. We’re talking about severe policy changes, many of which Americans have become dependent upon. Ron Paul had even fewer allies in Washington than Trump did when first elected. That said, the 2012 Iowa caucus was extremely fishy, with a virtual three way tie. The tabulation of the caucus results seems very easy to tamper with, as there is no public chain of custody of a private party’s caucus results that I’m aware of. You know the uniparty didn’t want to let Dr Paul build any momentum, period. And the New Hampshire primaries had some suspicious anomalies as well.

This is the kind of discussion/debate that we all deserve as adults in the room and this is why as a very libertarian leaning person (I'm a life long registered independent) I really want to see Ramaswamy as a future president and I pray as the next VP.
