Can't heal a blood dk. Weather he lives or dies is his choice.
thats why i came to this video!! I go oom everytime im with a blood dk. I just can't figure them out and they scare me. I think they are going to die constantly and then im just stressing out healing them. Now im getting to the point of hey you want to heal a bunch? Go for it... your on your own buddy because I'm not wasting all my mana.
@@klanise Track his Runic Power and most important cds. With vamp Blood they heal like crazy, With Icebound Fortitude they are scared.
@K Bills dks are normally only at risk of dying on pull when. Externals work wonders for blood. Biggest risk for blood is them getting ticked down by a bunch if small hits. If they don't have dancing rune wepon on pull give them and external so they can survive until they get rp built up after that they are on thier own. People think about blood the wrong way it really isn't a tank it's another healer spec.
@K Bills honestly best suggestion to learn how to heal tanks is either level each of the tanks and play them for figue out mechanics or watch guides/streams from people that play the class. Used to panic with healing blood dks then levels one and realized you almost never need a healer.
@K Bills also keeping your passice healing things in them so they have more time to get to their deaths trike global helps
Thank you so much for making this video. As a tank main, especially Blood DK, it is so frustrating to see my healers wasting half of their mana on me during a pull that I can easily solo even if it take 10 mins, but then they won't use any external when I'm starting a pull from scratch.
As with Brewmaster, where I will need mostly just a basic HoT on my face to be gucci, the healer won't be keeping any uptime on me and only reactive heal which is pain.
This video is good for healers that want to be better healers, and is a gem for tanks which will meet more competent healer that plays according to their class.
This video has so much good common sense info that every player should hear and take to heart. I’m a prot warrior main but have been wanting to learn resto Druid and this video was great information for me.
I love the format of this guide. I will never play half these classes or heal high mythic + but I am fascinated by it. You should do one on how tanks should react to different healers
Yes, I would love a video like that!
As somebody who played multiple differnt tank speccs: you don't
The only thing I will adapt to is the availability of externals
@@ShaggySummers The game isn't hard, none of these guides are really NECESSARY, but the theorycrafting is fun and learning about classes and interactions in this way is fun. Appreciate your comment though bud
@@rikerFFXI I also didn't mean it in a bad way. You have a good one!
Great video, thanks for all the info. Really helpful
love the boss timers. looking clean AF :)
I love healing Blood DKs because I typically just don't - only downside to them is when they stay below 35% for more than one second, I'm convinced they do that on purpose to bait a Power Word: Life out of me only for it to go on a 30s cooldown :|
As a Blood main I can confirm. I love scaring my healers only to hear them sigh or scream when I heal to full from a single Death Strike after they pressed a button.
i let my health dip low on occasion to see if the healer is afk, they usually are.
@@Derksmash if you're not giving your healer a heart attack you're not playing blood dk
this is so good, love sending your content to my healers
This helps quite a bit. I can really tell when a tank is not using CDs properly but didn't know how to track them.
Great video. Very informative. Thanks
Tracking Calcified Spikes for DH as well. Also, check their talents. If we have Fiery Brand up on enemies, we take 40% reduced damage from each mob it's on (it spreads every 2sec). It's a defensive cooldown for us, reducing damage taken as well as increasing damage done, which means more self-healing. We'll always have the occasional Demon Spike gap, but initial pull is for sure our most dangerous moment.
a lot of people underestimate the value of fiery brand, even in shadowlands everyone kept running the fel dev reset legendary while i was running the fiery brand one, was so much smoother gameplay because you didn't have to rely on rng, even when just pulling a pack you can start off with brand + leap and feel extremely safe
For Brewmaster you should have mentioned that although they might take more damage, they also get healed more by your heals due to their passive, which is as baseline as stagger. So taking more damage doesn't necessarily mean harder to heal.
As a side note to any healer reading this, as of patch 10.0.5 they do not need this level of attention anymore. A few kicks generates some orbs which is more or less a full heal on demand. All you need to do as a Brew is to not die until your next full heal, so essentially functions like a slowed down, less spiky DK.
So the best a healer could do is simply track orbs. If I have orbs, I want to be low before I use them, anything else is a waste. So pumping heals into me to keep me at 80-100% just means I'll sit on 5 orbs that will just go to waste as they time out.
Red stagger is also not that bad, it becomes red long before it becomes a problem. 100% stagger is red, but that is just the same as having a dot ticking at 10% of your hp per second, or 7,7% with bob&weave. So unless you look at the actual % and understand what it means, it's not terribly helpful.
I have 12% leach on my prot warrior just by pure luck on drops. it’s enough to sustain most of my own healing. Feels so op. I’ve even been swapping out some mastery/verse for Crit so I can do even more heals. Prot warrior with leech is the most fun I’ve had playing WoW in years. I’m so glad WoW is fun again. I really thought it was over when I quit at the beginning of shadowlands.
like when ever you look in the vault i like to say, Leech is a main stat. lol
According to class discord, crit is the single best m+stat
Amazing video! Hope this reaches a lot of other healers.
Really enjoyed the comedy in this one.
I have always like healing Druid. The talent for 2x rejuvenation is my favorite, and lifebloom having a delayed effect is awesome. I can't do as much burst healing, but if I have enough HoT's on you, hopefully you can tank your way through it.
2000’s pop punk hits ftw xD
Great guide, good analysis :)
Great video and advice.
First time ever I see like this helpful video thank you
Really helpful brah
For Guardian Druid, you also want to track rage of the sleeper, and Survival Instincts. Both are used as defensives aswell and help decide bigger packs or not
RoTS is basically a 10 second Barkskin as far as mitigation goes bit it also increases damage and leech.
atm not too many Bears take DoC but the ones that do can start to give pally a run for their money in terms of providing extra party healing. this however usually comes at a damage loss but that relative trade off is looking to be negated with the coming tuning and the recent addition of Raze + bug fixes that were hindering builds from being as effective as they could be.
Does Tank druid has any ability to heal the grp or at least 1 ally?
I'm not into druid but I feel like sometimes with a Guardian druid they are healing not only themselves.
But I couldnt figure it out yet what since I dont play it myself.
@@MASmeinezeit Guardian Druids have after the wildfire which gives group healing When you spend a certain amount of rage. They also have nature's vigil which gives group healing especially in single target. And lastly, they also have dream of scenarios, which basically turns your regrowth into a word of glory that can be used on anyone. You lose damage from taking it, but you are able to full heal people every 5-8 seconds, sometimes even more often than that.
@@foofie9578 DoC has a 20 second internal CD so you cant use it more than once every 20s seconds but you can track the timer and use 1 at the end of the timer and a second at the start of the second timer.
@@Kittsuera thank you for the clarification, I haven't really played with this talent much since it came out only one or two dungeons.
one thing i can add as a prot warrior is that if your tank is smart, there are certain mechanics that prot warriors can basically take no damage (the big one that comes to mind is crawth's screech). i just spell reflect it every time and it does literally nothing, even at 4 stacks. so during those mechanics, you can plan to top up everyone else while the warrior just laughs it off.
Couple of things: Druids don't really have large health pools anymore. However, they did just get nice absorb shields through Ursoc's Fury, so their damage intake has smoothed out considerably. They also can use several CDs to mitigate damage: Barkskin, Incarnation/Berserk, Rage of the Sleeper, and Survival Instincts. Druids are really in danger of dying to pulls with high amounts of magic damage.
This was really helpful actually, I liked the breakdown of each tank. Now do the same video as a short but your answer is "you dont have to" as a meme and show prot warrs on top of heal charts xD
If I outheal a prot warrior in a key, we are taking way too much party dmg.
This is what we need
the end was so good hahahaha
YES! make enhancement tank. I'm dying for a shammy tank spec
Make it a 4th spec and name it Earth Warden! Let’s goooo
DH also has fiery brand that reduces a mobs dmg to the dh by 30% and its worth tracking fel dev cd as it proccs Meta for 8sec.
Prot warrior here, make sure you track spell block, its 20 seconds of invulnerability to magic damage. Don't stop dots ticking but will stop bolts and attacked. It's wildly OP.
healing brewmasters is always fantastic
Thx, good content. Shaman need 4th spec for earth tank. Also moonkin tank spec after that.
as a very long term Blood dk the tip i have for healers is dont panic while healing a blood dk, death strike is a bit of a funky thing, and the healing from it can basically pump a dk back to full hp from nearly dead almost instantly, with dragonflight honestly i dont think there was a single time i have run into a pull without some sort of gcd active, vampiric blood, icebound and rune weapon recharge fairly rapidly, and with the ease of upkeeping bone shield now and high number tombstone is a nice oh shit button, worst case scenario i dont think i have ever not used purgatory, the save from death is incredibly useful and as a dk i can easily provide the healing needed to come back to life myself. tho the higher the key level the more the healer should expect to see Dk hps jumping all over the place, hence where the dont panic comes into play :D
You should be using tombstone on cd while standing in DnD, not saving it
I like the theme of the video. I'll offer my 2cp on prot paladins; it's all about if they have wings running or not. During wings (Sentinel) they have more max health, take less damage, and have excess holy power to work with. Outside of wings, they're missing the massive buff and their holy power generation is much lower so they encounter the situation where there will be gaps in their SotR mitigation uptime and can take those killer unmitigated hits. As a healer I'd track wings and worry about keeping the tank topped off when it's not running.
I mean a good prot pal will rotate eye of tyr and/or ardent in wings downtime so it’s no problem
Great video! What is the addon that shows your upkeep spell directly on the cursor if ready? Would help me a lot, cause I keep forget that they're ready :D
Depends what class you are playing but just type in "SPELL NAME cursor weakaura" into google and it should be one of the first results.
Like here's one for resto druid which I found by typing in "Lifebloom cursor weakaura". wago.io/cursorcombo
If you need help finding a specific set for a class or spec just msg me on discord and I can see what I can find :)
I don't heal but I was interested to see what you had to say about my main (blood dk), and you hit the nail on the head, we should be unkillable if we have bone shield and runic power
I chose healer cuz it's so technical and so many variables.
I like 2000s’ Pop/Punk hits
Shut up :)
I haven’t allowed the “you talking” addon
On Warrior, we actually have quite a lot of self-healing now, and our magic damage intake isn't quite as bad as stated because in dungeons you have so much rage generation you will effectively have a permanently maxed out Ignore Pain which will reduce any magic damage you take by 50% as long as it's up (up to a cap). Spell Block is up every 20 seconds for a 20% damage reduction even if you don't reflect anything, and yes, spell block is nuts.
What warriors really struggle with at the moment is not magic damage, but bleed damage. Outside of Shield Wall, the only thing we have to deal with bleeds is IP, which is not enough to deal with nasty bleeds. Warriors mostly need healer help with 3rd boss Temple, bird in AA and 2nd boss in RLP, but otherwise you can mostly ignore them.
100% right. It's why I went dark iron dwarf.
id love to see a shaman tank spec, but i think instead of enhancement we get somethin similar to druids and get a 4th spec called Bulwark or something along that lines
I'd play that in a heartbeat. It would be so nice to be able to bring lust, infinite AOE CC and an 11 second kick as a tank. Could be the one that finally makes me main swap from my prot paladin.
Shamans used to have a taunt, despite not having a true tank spec.
The design was supposed to be as an off-tank, someone who could taunt and take some hits, but couldn’t tank a whole fight.
The concept doesn’t really fit into the current game.
I play a brewmaster monk myself but while playing my disci priest brewmaster most of the time feel quite squishy.
They got nice cooldowns but in between it feels like they drop quite quickly. Not sure if it was the class or really just the player.
Respectfully, brew now plays pretty differently to how it has historically.
It’s now incredibly cool-down reliant. It can pretty reliably cycle a defensive for everything now.
It’s self healing is also a LOT higher with the new gift of the ox talent.
Magic stagger was buffed pretty significantly recently (a 30% buff).
Celestial brew got a 25% cdr reduction.
Brew is about as self reliant as prot warrior now, it just doesn’t deal with huge packs as well as prot due to the nature of it’s mitigation, but it’s healing is significantly higher than prot so it’s pretty net neutral until you get to bleeding edge content.
Ive been playing brew as an offspec for keys and I felt like it still is very similar to how its been for the past 2 xpacs. It has changed to not be as self reliant but perhaps its due to the stats I have since I've always gone a little more crit heavy in stats / enchants for brew (which buffs self healing by a lot)
Thank you for all the insight though, I plan to utilize all this in an updated guide in the future
About BMs and magic damage, stagger works just fine against it, at ilvl 410, I stagger ~30% of magic dmg. It got changed recently. Not nearly as good as a DK, but compare that to spell reflect...
It's a shame you can't track gift of the ox from brews, becuse with 2 or so orbs it can make expel harm a full heal
Healing a brew as evoker each reversion you do on him is basically a lay on hands it's insane
Cuz of golden hour

Great Video! What weakaura or addon do you use to show the debuffs/storming on your raid frames?
wago.io/thundering-affix
For the debuffs on frames, that is just default elvui settings
@@Moarcookiezlive ah ok, I like using the stock bars and just wondered if there was something similar for that. Thanks :)
Hi moarcookiez, i really enjoy Ur videos but do u have a disc priest 10.0.5 guide? With the new builds
Very soon (this week) I plan to release some content for disc priest
@@Moarcookiezlive Thank u looking forward!
Do you have any other recommendation for a stagger frame WA? The one linked above is throwing lua errors.
Uh oh. If you search "stagger for healer weakaura" in Google you should get a number of options to try out.
04:05 is that a cat meowing?! This video gets 10 extra points just for that!
Yep, that is Shiro and he is very noisy and orange. :)
I feel like you missed a bunch of important things out on brewmaster. Often people in aware on this, but I've explained it to many healers before in the past and it's greatly helped them.
Celestial fortune - a talent based on our crit chance to replicate healing a second time at 65% efficiency. Effectively your heals will be hitting harder than you think, it shows up as brewmaster healing. So when you're considering a heal to use on brew, think that there is a high chance your heal with do 165% of it's healing.
Brewmaster gain extra % of absorbs via celestial fortune but in reverse. Absorbs are a 100% chance to gain, but instead of increasing at 65% it increases at our crit %. 100k absorb would go to 130k absorb if I have 30% crit as an example.
You want to track Celestial Brew on monk too, it's our best Defensive. Not that that it's reduced with using a few different spells so the CD on it will shift alot. Grab a Weak aura to track how many Ox orbs monks have , if we have 2-3 that's pretty much full HP heal. It's the same if not more value than a stagger weak aura tracker.
Red stagger doesn't mean we're in any kinda danger. It goes green, yellow then red so fast. We can take multiple ones our health into our stagger pool. And only the first 75% of our HP is green and yellow.
Really good video tho, a nice introduction to tanks!
Should I be using Renew as a upkeep spell for Holy Priest?
Holy Priest also has renew- which if talented increases all healing received by 10%. I would also recommend keeping PoM up on tanks.
How to heal a blood death knight
Laughs in Death Strike
Man, enhancement shaman tank would be awesome. That, or just make Survival hunter a tank spec, they never know what to do with it anyway.
Love the pure confusion when you got to blood dk. You are half right. Now in dragonflight you can get your charges even before the pull and good dk wont struggle at all whit upfront damage whit few exceptions depending on the week or dungeon. However as blood dk main my biggest advice to healers is use externals on bigger pulls. Dk heals all the dmg but cant heal 1 shots. Awso during kiting and 5 seconds after that you are limited on healing. Same whit low dmg intake fights. You need to give the dk some love. Biggest dk strength I wuld say is dealing well whit spike damage. Stuff that gona make you pop external or big heal on a tank .. LoH for example now can be saved for some one else. Lastly .. dont sac blood dk as holy pal :)
great video really helped me understand how to deal with certain tanks as i start healing more regular. i'm confused to how you use your party frames as if you were using vudoh, i never managed to setup vudoh and i hate being limited to only mousebuttons so personally i'm using clique to mouseover cast onto the elvui frames but even then i run into the issue that if i cast a spell on someone that is dying that moment my mousecursor is trying to find a valid target and i cant cast any other spells till i right click cancel... it causes many others to die most times, i would appreciate any solutions to that issue of mine and maybe some more clarification on the elvui mouseover topic
I have my profiles available to download in the community discord. If you tried that or don't like them, send me a dm or ping me in the discord and I'd be happy to find a handful of minutes to help you set it up to your liking.

You forgot about the Fel Devastation from the DH Tanks x) Many healer didnt track it and it heals an dh Tank about 75% hp! :P ;)
Fel dev = Meta
You could completely take away everything from fel dev and make it only activate meta for 8 seconds and it would be just as good as it is now
the brewmaster weak aura is out of date do you have a link to an updated version?
Try this one wago.io/LlIfeGUf6
May I ask something pls ?
The party frame ( which I guess it's normal raid frame ) how can I get the spells and duration of the spell on it like the lifebloom ( and his duration on it ) rej regrowth etc etc ??
I believe that is not the default raid/party ui. It is an addon called vuhdo and it is amazing healer addon
I use Elvui, it's a unitframe addon.
Hey you miss like every defensive cd for prot pally from your tracking , Sentinel , Eye of tyr, Ardent Defender , Guardian of the ancient kings, sacrifice if it s active , also watch if your paladin tanks in consacration
frailty is a big part of VDH mitigation which you didnt mention at all
I am a Enhancement Shammy, and I off heal 5 Man Mythics all the time and my DPS is right up there are even the best in some games.
That defensives on party frames says it’s form 9.01 SL, does it still work?
Yep
Brewmaster is really coming on strong here lately.
i heard the cat in the background, please kind sir, pet the cat for me. Thank you for your time.
How do I get that wa or addon that is showing your used skills on top of details?
That is an addon called trufiGCD
As a prot pali, it just depends on how awake I am, watched for tips, acquired the fact that yes, you are the party (unless you have a good healer than you don't really get to carry).
BDK are just the selfish version of prot pali, fight to heal, cds are important (but they don't have 45second wings so get good)
do you know how to disable the message when kicks are coming of CD, like a DBM message in middle of the screen, I think omniCD is doing that
Is it a message your character is saying in chat or just a pop-up of text from an addon? I don't know if I've seen that
@@Moarcookiezlive it's like DBM message in the middle of the screen, I have DBM but didn't had this prio installing omnicd
its a good/bad day for 2000's punk hits
04:05 he got attacked by feral druid irl!
Its always been bs that shaman doesn't have tank make more sense than monks or demon hunter they wear mail and have magic to empower themselves it would be so fun!
Make it a 4th spec and name it Earth Warden! Let’s goooo
A good Blood DK Only needs Healing and Attention in the beginning of the Pack, after 5 secs he can stand for his own.
But there is nothing like the smooth healing/tank combination of a Rdruid and a Brewmaster
@MOARCOOKIEZ.. Sure? 😂😂😂
Who is the most comfortable to heal M+ ? What healer would you recommend to a new player?
Personal preference but for me it's brewmaster monk.
For a healer to start with, pick the one that looks the coolest. If you don't have a preference to class fantasy, I'd say holy priest
Is HPriest Renew not considered an upkeep spell?
Not for Mythic+, it can be used but you wont typically press it because the healing value is to low unless the entire group is full hp and you are trying to press something before upcoming damage.
PoM on your tank as a holy priest is your "upkeep", especially of you have benediction talented. You could keep a renew up if you have renewed faith talented so you get the healing buff on them, but it's not the most efficient thing. I've seen a lot of holy priest leveraging shield as well now that it is actually stronger. But renew and shield aren't incredibly efficient.
PoM though, on CD on the tank to get it bouncing
What party frame addon is that?
Elvui
Best warrior name hellaclappn
Bro how can you just call out my music tastes like that
I was guilty of using dps major cooldowns at bosses only for way too long
Could you imagine earth elemental tank spec? Lol. Would be rad
Make it a 4th spec and name it Earth Warden! Let’s goooo
As a BDK player, this is the best healer advise ive seen. So many healers over heal BDK because they dont track runic power
whats the shaman wa with the shield at cursor?
I'm not at my PC so this isn't the same one but it should be pretty close.

@@Moarcookiezlive ty :P
As a DH tank, I feel like you missed the most important pro... magic damage ha
You are absolutely correct. I got distracted by the 2000s pop punk
As a DH tank myself as well. Something you may missed is that we can build some tankiness trough frailty and painbringer even without demon spikes and meta we can be spamming spirit bomb and healing and becoming more tanky. Even thou great video.
Pop punk makes you more efficient
As a shaman (healer without externals) the easiest tanks for me to heal are: WARRIOR > PALLY > MONK > DH > DRUID > DK. Bears and bloods constantly get one shot and blame the healer.
Prot Warriors have Impending Victory as a great self heal (30% total health) on a 25 second cooldown.
This video is made for generalized concepts. As far as I know impending Victory is a talent and in previous patch cycles warriors have not taken it which is why I said they generally are not good at self healing.
@@Moarcookiezlive Great point! Wasn’t trying to correct, just wanted to get people’s take on the talent
Prot warri feels like the easiest tank to heal for me right now.
how to heal tanks: RANDOM SCREECHING HIT ALL ZE BUTTONS! worked for me :D
lmao at the DH comment
"They are usually listening to 2000s pop punk hits."
I like how we all collectively headcanoned that DH players are edgelords IRL.
What healing addon is that?
I use Elvui UI with mouseover
I played quite a lot M+ this season but I never had a DH tank. Anyone else?
I don't dislike them but it just seems that nobody really plays them.
Holy Paladin: I don’t really use glimmer of light. Mostly holy shock. Bottom line, as main healer myself; a good tank won’t need a lot of healing. Having a proc and holy Paladin in keys is OP. 😂 also, holy Paladin plays very differently from other healers. A good Holy paladín doesn’t just sit back and heal like most healers classes. They are dmg’ing for gaining Holy Power.
Just chiming in on prot paladins.
They lost a bunch of HP generation making their SotR upkeep less automatic, this overall means less sustain currently and outside of toll and Sentinel windows they can't really afford to waste HP on WoGs, you're only able to self heal every 3 cycles and the self heal itself gets better the lower health they are given the proc.
Ive had far better experiences with healers who track both my free WoG and SotR buffs because it makes it quite obvious when they need healing and when you can let them handle it themselves.
Below +18s the above really isn't an issue because they're quite self sufficient but as you get to the higher keys they're noticeably squishy when their buffs are down (usually at the start of the pull).
Consercration is also a huge DR but I'm unsure if you can track that too.
Thank you! I'm trying to keep stuff as generalized as possible so this video can apply for the whole expansion regardless of any major class changes but I don't mind updating this more frequently each patch or each xpac with more specific talking points
Yeah even if prot paladin had the holy power to heal the talents that makes your wog heal the group for a ton is just to many to normally take
When you don't mention Guardian's "Rage of the Sleeper" (very strong 1 minute cd for both offense and defense), "Survival Instincts" (strongest defensive buff of the class) or "After the Wildfire" (loads of party healing) I can't help wondering how many of the other classes had important spells you forgot to mention.
Incarn and barkskin have been the primary cooldowns forever. Yes there are others but that's not what the video was about.
I love how you play 20+ on druid and everything is toped and then 14 tjs on shaman and peole die from elemntal aoe left and right
Yea it happens. :/
@@Moarcookiezlive i share this pain MW monk
As a BDK I love how I can play the whole dungeon without the healer touching me if I play correctly.
Also, we have problems pulling without resources if we have Dancing Rune Weapon on cd. If its up, it instantly generates 5 bone charges and let's us fill runic power super fast. That + Rune Tap for the first 4s of the pull and we are totally fine without help even at 0 resources on pull.
Funny how healers need to know a soul-crushing amount of details; tanks need to know a soul-crushing amount of details. DPS usually just watch Details! and don't give a flying crap about anything else around them.
Unfortunately, you've not healed great brewmasters. We require very little healing if played correctly. Most kleys (16-20) the healer heals me less than themselves. The key is to push to red stagger correctly and clear and use your celestial brew on CD full stacks either for full mitigation or tank busters. I've soloed tyrannical bosses from 2-3M easily
