I used to wake up early just to listen to this song on MTV. After that, I would go to work delivering newspapers for $15 a week, and then attend my public school in the afternoon. My father had passed away, so we didn't have much money. Now, after 14 years since this music came out, I have a stable job. I want to thank Greenday for giving me strength with this song during those difficult years. I'm from Peru, South America.

Well on that song he speaks about somebody making like a analysis of himself about his symptoms (depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, pain, etc) and he realizes that him is his worst enemy at the end of the track. Great to see that the same phrase can have so different meaning in 2 songs of this album.

I will always feel grateful to this song as all my love to Green Day started thanks to this. One day I heard "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and I loved it but didn't know who's the author. Then, two years after that I heard this masterpiece on the radio and got to know it's Green Day! Then, I started looking for their albums. Seriously, time freaking flies. I was barely in high school when this album came out and I barely had picked up the guitar. This some was the first song I covered and uploaded on RUclips on this channel. Still an incredible song.
And i was in middle school, 12 years old. I was really getting into rock music in 2009, thanks to green day and......ugh, simple plan. And then i progressed to listen to metal, and so on and so on. Time surely does fly.
