Tecovas have certainly increased boots exposure to the general public. They might not be the ideal boots for everyone but that is one of the great things about the boot industry, there is something out there for everyone. Ideally lots of boot companies will increase the amount of widths they offer
You are so correct, I went from a 12D to a 13 B , best fit ever ! Thought about getting a pair of tecovas boots in a 12.5D keep up the good work mr.Craig!
I have purchased two pairs of Tecovas boots. I bought a pair for myself (Prescott bison) online and another pair for my wife (sky blue Josie) in the Nashville, TN store. First of all, they are very good quality for the money. 2nd, they are very comfortable (I'm a size 10 D) right out of the box. 3rd, they have good customer service. They answered all my emails when I was buying mine and the employees in the Nashville store were very helpful and knew the product line. I am not a Tecovas fan boy by any means, but their boot designs and quality have brought them to the top of my list. I am planning to buy either a pair of smooth ostrich or lizard skin boots later this year. I have narrowed it down to 4 models and 2 of them are Tecovas. BTW, I messed up and didn't buy the Tecovas lizard in the limited edition relic color. I was on the fence seeing them online. They looked amazing in the store. I'm bummed that I didn't buy them when they still had my size.
I wish not only Tecovas, but other boot companies as well, would expand on the width sizes. Even more people would be wearing boots if they only knew how comfortable they can be to wear especially in the correct size and width. The widths can really change how a boot feels especially when a person has to compensate a true fit with a size and width that they can try to make do with. International shipping would also gain them many more customers. I wish that they would make the boot sizes so that there doesn’t have to be men’s and women’s boots. I just wish a person could see a boot they like and not have to worry about whether or not they make a small enough size to fit a women’s foot. Heck I know some guys with small sized feet and they have to purchase women’s boots because the men’s sizes start at a size too big for them. It is a battle for both women and men. Great suggestions Jeremiah!👍
I would buy Tecovas in a heartbeat if they made b widths. They make quality boots from what I have seen but there is no way I can comfortably fit into one which is a shame.
Well said ! As a fellow B width , l get tired of the sales people trying to put me in a D width with a insert . Come on boot companies , make more widths like you did way back then !!
My true size is 15B so the only way I can get into a Tecovas boot is to go with a 14D or 15d with inserts. Depends on the fit of the current boot as not all boots are sized the same from boot to boot. Once I find the right fit I am good to go. That all being said, if they made B width boots I would have a better fit and buying experience. Your video is spot on!
As a person who is a D width I’d love companies to make a B width. The investment in the last will easily be paid off in years if not months of the announcement of B widths. Also, I strongly agree with education in how boots should feel and how to clean them. Granted I will definitely take used boots that someone didn’t wear a lot because of the miseducation. But if Tecovas educated people on the difference of leather vs rubber soles, they could get some Ariats fan.
I own 4 pair. My most recent is ‘The Stockton’ which I did a video review on three months ago. I need to do a follow up video. I would like to purchase their new cowboy hat. Looks great
I'm currently looking at boots and tecovas are so close to what I want. If the stopped using woven composite material in their heel counter and switched to leather slab I'd jump on their product. Thick leather heel slab is what shapes a heel counter to you foot. Yes, I know this vid is a year old but I'm gonna comment anyway since looking at tecovas is still relevant.
Leather heel counters are the best! If you're looking for a little cushion insole with leather heel counters try Fenoglio, Chisos, Anderson Bean, maybe Horse Power Top Hand too
I love my Tecovas boots...and jacket, travel bag, shirts, belts....their customer service is fantastic and the products all reek of high quality. Which is why it is not a budget brand. I wish they would have more a presence on the PRCA circuit.
I would love to see Tecovas in a B width! Its always a little discouraging to want a boot that isnt truly your size. I cant size down due to my toes so im stuck with the wrong size lol
Im a die hard Dan Post boot man, and I think their quality and originality is second to none, although recently I bought a couple of pairs of ariat boots, and even though I'm impressed by their comfort, im still trying to figure them out, especially when I can wear a pair of Dan post boots for a day and you can see the wrinkles in the leather of them breaking in, but I can wear my ariat boots all day and they still look like new
I'm a Dan Post guy too. I did see one pair of Tecovas on their website that I wanted to get but although on their site, it was discontinued. Contacted them and it was basically "oh well". I'll stick with Dan Post thank you.
Hey JC! I have 7 pairs of Tecovas and the matching belts to go with them. I primarily wear the Cartwright and Earl but also enjoy the calf they use. Break in with the boots was kinda rough for be but I think that is because I had so many new pairs all at once. They all fit like gloves now. I will definitely buy more in the future if I ever wear out these but I don't see that happening. I may be passing down some to the kids except for the pair I will be buried in 🤣
I just got a pair of Cartwrights myself. I was wondering how long your soles last? I plan on mostly wearing them in my office with tile floors and carpet, and when I’m out with my wife on the weekends. Plan on wearing them every day, but not hard wear. I have my rubber sole Ariats for getting muddy and dirty.
Tecovas is one of the 1st brands I was exposed to in advertising but yet have not bought. Actually in watching your reviews, and Nick Lone Star boot reviews then some comments back and forth with Nick I got a pair of Rujos for my first pair. I really liked them still want to try Tecovas but since have gotten myself a pair of square toe Tony Lama's and a vintage pair of Tony Lama bull hide round toes from Goodwill auctions that I had re soled. Being a 9D sizing is not a problem unless they sell out of my size. Love how you showed a pic of President Ronald Regan in his boots!
Although I think Tecovas has the upper hand in marketing and sales, I think they would sky rocket if they offered more sizing options and shipping. Those two things alone would make so many customers want to try them. Although I disagree, I have heard that they have the ability to compete with Lucchese's customer base. If they were to implement this, I do think they would be a serious contender as a boot company. I think their mindset of going from tech/marketing to customer service would definitely help them grow and make a bigger impact in the boot industry.
I just got my order of the Nash in Relic Lizard. It's a tough, clean, comfortable boot. You should get a pair of the relic editions to review! I think you'll dig em.
I am from Australia and I love the look and construction of Tecova boots, but I can’t try them unless they are second hand. We need Tecovas to ship worldwide, it’s not just Americans that want these boots
Rujo boots are fairly new, and many tecovas fans say Rujo is equal to or better than tecovas. It'd be awesome if you reviewed them. Im a Chisos guy, but just bought Rujo's caiman since chisos are far from affordable.
I guess I should thank Tecovas for getting me into boots but didn’t take long to realize they are basically the IKEA of boots. Spent a ton of time exchanging messed up boots.
Nothing wrong with offering up constructive criticism. If you like (or love) something you should constantly strive for improvement and refinement. But in this day and age, many simply dismiss this as "hate". It's sad. Oh, and I'm right there with you on the width. A lot of boots that are a D are too loose on me. If Tecovas offered up a B or C width I'd likely try them. Keep up the great content! 👍
How cool would it be if a future "Meet the Boot Maker" interview would have an executive of a large scale boot company? I'd be so interested to hear their perspectives. Also, I suspect the challenge with offering more widths is not the investment in lasts, but that it's easier to sell inventory and have a simpler assembly/storage when only offering the most common widths. I'd still love to see more widths. It lets more people enjoy these brands and Western boots in general.
I really wanted to like Tecovas… but their sizing just doesn’t work for me. Either slightly big or a bit small. B or C width would help me out. I’ll keep the ones I’ve got but they just are not as comfortable as other boots I own and I won’t buy more of something that isn’t a great fit.
I have a narrow width foot but company only concentrate on average d widths and the average overweight American has fat feat so wide width has become the second most common width . It’s not just the boot industry Allen Edmonds is about the last company around who produces shoes in all widths and this used to be common place . Most people don’t even know how to have their feet properly sized to know their true shoe size.
I own the bison stockton, they are very comfortable, they need to make steel toe. I have to wear Double H and Thorogood for work since they offer steel toe
I'm a gal from Brooklyn NY. I wear Ariat and Lucchese. I have slim feet. For some odd reason, I cannot find a par of Tecovas to fit. I have purchased about 4 pairs, they all went right back.
Simple marketing - customer loyalty isn’t achieved through price. It’s achieved by providing a consistently high level of service on a well produced and desired product with after sales support and a customer focused engagement mechanism. Porsche have drive days, Harley have (or had?) the Harley Owners Group, Jeep have owners days and 4WD training days. Tecovas need to *engage* with customers else they will always be seen as an entry brand. Helping customers choose the right size in the first instance will result in fewer returns and potentially lost sakes.
just got into instagram and of course the algorithm caught up to my Texas, wester, cowboy boots search and Tecovas ads pop up every 10 posts. I was wondering if they were something worth trying. hopefully they do take your advise and maybe a wide/adjustable shaft for ladies:)
To build on the education of their consumers point. They should educate people on what boot is right for them. I see a lot of people buying the leather sole boots that are made for more casual wear, and using them for farm work, which is wearing them out in 6 months or less. They need to be specific in which of their boots are made for work, and which aren’t.
They need to stick to quality especially if they go the route of Nacona and get into other widths. Red Wing is able to do a lot of widths, although not in all their boots, but maybe a select group of boots can get the special treatment. Or at least made to order. I think the game is theirs to lose. They have Lucchese running trying to stay relevant but they still manage to put out quality boots. Tecovas has an opportunity to make themselves as big if not bigger than the legacy brands.
I wish they would get better Quality Control. I hear people that absolutely love their boots and have had them for a while, and people who’s boots fell apart within a few months or weeks.
They need nailed leather stacked heels which they are not. They need something unique. They make good average boots. Lucchese and Anderson bean has some of the coolest skins out there. That is why I own a lot of them but only one pair of Tecovas

Hey Jeremiah, I have some vintage made in US Justin elephant boots that are in your size of 12 B. I also have a brand new pair of Dan post shark skin boots that are size 11 1/2 D. Depending on the brand, I wear a 9D- 10D, so they are both way too big for me. I’ve been trying to sell the shark boots for years now. So if you are interested in them or could help me out in any way I would be very appreciative!! I can send you pics of them if you would like. The shark skins still have the dye on the leather outsole and you can still clearly read genuine shark. I’ve ordered and returned 3 pairs of Tecovas, hoping for a fit. Their D boots are just too wide for me
