When you consider that Tristana probably didn’t have anything in the way of food to sustain her all those years and that it was probably the possession that kept her alive, hence her grotesque appearance, it makes things even creepier I think.
Reminds me of that comic where a lost astronut is walking towards something and as he continues walking his suit starts digesting his body for nutrients to keep him alive
as a spanish person, i feel so proud of having this movie in our roster, with such a high number of cheap movies this one always has stood out for being so unique and fantastically made. the sequels are pretty bland, especially 3rd and 4th, the second one is quite cool on how it expands the first one though, i'll give that to it
As a British person, I am happy that you are proud of having this movie on the roster. Spanish horror is always so frightening to me because I can't understand what they are saying and the sheer Spanishness of the horror on display, makes me panic and stress eat popcorn to the point where I can no longer keep up with the subtitles.
@@SparkkyBojangles As a French person, I'm happy that you're happy that he's happy to have this movie on the roster. English horror is very dominant over Spanish Horror and it's always nice to see different dialogue behind a creepy movie. Adds to the ambiance and mystiqueness.
As a German person I'm happy that you're happy that he is happy that he is happy about the movie being Spanish. I myself love horror movies from different countries, because they draw on norms and references which are specific to cultures which I'm not as familiar, which adds to the horror, no matter what language is being used. Even if it's a Spanish movie with English dub and french subtitles.
6:19 I don't get scared very easily by movies but this scene genuinely had me terrified, on the edge of my seat when I watched this movie for the first time about a year ago. The movie was already pretty intense but this scene transcended it to terrifying, absolute nightmare fuel.
Rec is such a fcking banger. Honestly that final scene is so scary I hadn't watched it properly till the safety of this video and had covered my eyes till the girl was on screen moving about, so had never noticed that shadow of her lmao! Great video man, keep it up! Oh and congrats on the 100k!!!!!!!!!
Rec is my favourite movie that I will never finish, because I always wuss out before the end. Thank you for covering the ending so I can experience it without needing a Xanax prescription!
Nice to see you make more videos There was a day last week where I just marathon'd every available video of yours while doing chores Underrated content
just subscribed yesterday after watching one of your v/h/s videos then doing a binge watch off all your vids while doing econ. was very happy and surprised when i got the notif you uploaded today. keep up the great work man!
I saw this movie in the tv when I was around 13 years old, and saw it again recently this year now that I'm 20. Im still convinced this is the scariest movie I have personally seen in my entire life
This was one of my favorite flicks back when i was still in school and had more time on my hands to binge watch films. I was on a horror movie bender and a friend suggested i should watch this movie and i was not dissapointed. Let's just say the pacing and tension of the film was one of the best i've seen in horror. The camera work is surprisingly good for a 'found footage' esque indie film, like one of the best in this genre. A lot of the times the camera quality of these types of movies can be poor and they overdo the 'shakiness' effect, but in this movie you don't get annoyed by the 'shakiness' and the get to see everything you need to see clearly. Acting was good too. This movie came out when there was a bit of a golden age of horror in Europe, with a lot of very good films like: Irreversible (2002), High Tension (2003), Them (2006),, Inside (2007), Frontiers (2007), Martyrs (2008)... All French movies, and they were great. Let The Right One In (2008), another good Swedish one. Anyway, they made a sequel to REC, which unfortunately didn't really do it for me. It was inferior in all regards to the first movie and then they tried to hamfist a backstory to tie it all together and it didn't really land in my opinion. The Americans also made a sequel of it but it wasn't good either. It was your typical Americanized mediocre horror movie.
What makes the whole sequence so panic-inducing is the waiting. The moment she attacks the characters is nothing compared to the agonizing amount of time they’re stuck in a small space with her, anticipating an attack at every second. Usually in horror, the monster attacks right after it’s made visible to the audience/readers. I find it a lot more effective when the monster lingers after it’s made its presence known and doesn’t attack immediately. The uncertainty is excruciating to sit through.
I remember when I watched this movie I had no idea what it was about, I really thought it was a documentary at first but the scene when the guy falls between everybody scared the heck out of me, I still remember the feeling, the panic LOL. Great movie.!!
Lets go dude! I haven't seen one of your videos in a few months and it looks like you finally getting the traction you deserve and that we were all expecting brother! happy for you!
Out of all horror movies, this one has the peak scary monster scene (or at least one of the all time best). Normally they disappoint, the anticipation is always too high and the movies under-deliver, but this one really had me squirming when it came out. This is a truly terrifying monster.
So glad you decided to cover this movie Tray. I watched it a couple years ago and thought it was excellent. Made me flinch at so many moments. Amazing video!
i watched this at dawn on tv when iw as a kid and i didnt know it was a movie... turns out now this is my favorite horror movie ever because of the fact it was so real to me at that point
I remember watching this back in the day. It was just some random DVD I picked up as a rental, had no clue what I was in for, but sometimes that's the best way.
great video as always twin, always look forward to ur next upload i said this b4 but I have not found a content creator that I actively wait for their next upload like this in YEARS. love ur vids
yo tray love the new video this was my favorite one terrifying scene you should do the one movie scene from terrifier 2 when they were in an ad and the only non ai girl was helpless and art popped out of the truck.
Found this channel yesterday and your commentary while both recapping and reviewing horror movies is absolutely delightful. I found your view on found footage movies particularly engaging and have to agree on a lot of points you made ("why are they even filming?"). Have you watched "The Borderlands" (aka "The Final Prayer") yet? Would love to see your opinion on that, because I rather enjoyed it. Also, if you haven't watched it yet, you have to give Troll Hunter a try.
I remember one time when I was little and on vacation with my parents and my cousins. I've fallen asleep on the couch in our room just before evening. My cousin who is a little older than me started watching REC on the TV in front of the couch. I kept waking up in that awake/dreaming state straight into the horrifying scenes of the movie. To this day I have severe discomfort with this movie, sorta like I lived through it myself and am having flashbacks to real memories of mine.
I remember back in 2008 watching this movie at home without any expectations, and man that was one of the best horror movie I've ever watch, looking for answers on the Internet of what was that sh*t in that last room.
My favourite spanish horror movie of all time, it's so well done, it really takis it's premise and makes the most out of it. And the ending is just spectacular. Completelyfascinanted and scared the shit out of me at the same time as a child. It was pretty popular in Spain back in the day, but I am always happy to see people from other countries apreciating it
Absolutely LOVE REC, and think REC 2 is fantastic as well! Would love to hear your thoughts on the insane behaviour shown in REC 2 Keep up the awesome content and congrats on 100K!

Y'all did good with this one. Plus the Spanish have been dropping good horror movies of late! Terrified and When Evil Lurks are terrific movies.

How it feels every time he drops a vid!
For real haha

the night vision scene is so well done, reminds me of Outlast
Fun Fact: The movie is one of the inspirations for Outlast :D
When I watching the movie for the first time last night with my mom, Outlast immediately came to mind with that night vision effect!
Outlast is shit for scares. Idk why everyone worships it. 😊
@@Sarah-qx4vz It's not very scary admittedly but it's still a pretty good game
@Sarah-qx4vz People like Outlast mostly because of the good writing and the antagonists in the games are all pretty cool.
