I love Deftones. I bought all their Cd's. Discovered Annie. Discovered Giant Drag. Now i bought all their stuff from amazone. And added them to my mp3 player. And my playlist at my computer. And I've been listening for a long time now. And i never get tired of Giant Drag! Circle of life
....such a great video....10's all across the board....10 on music, 10 on lyrics, 10 on video...her best to me. And to someone who asked in the comments, 'what is the hidden meaning in the video?' it's just about, totally assuming....addictions, and how more and more is never enough, including those that try to fill that hole with food. So the 'food' part of addictions made for a cool video. But pretty sure, lyrically, its bullseye is drugs. Everyone has that hole to fill, irregardless of how well they hide it, or try to. My brother passed away pretty young, and we went with his wife to clear out some of their storage units, full of, FULL, of unopened items they bought online or from a store. Things they wanted, but didn't NEED. I guess trying to fill that hole with the Dopamine hit of purchasing something, I guess.
....and one more thing...everyone that hated her brief change to blond, have to disagree, completely. To me, 96 times out of 100, going blond, to me, is a HORRIBLE choice. But Annie drilled that look to me...albeit briefly. When my daughter went to college, and told me she went blond, my heart collapsed....but it turned out to be such a great look for her, so I was definitely shocked. Annie is the same. But big fan of most women sticking with their natural colors...or slight variations of...
....and someone down in the comments remarking on her guitar tone and feedback-y orchestration.....def agreed here too, brother.....song just comes together really nice....builds perfectly....and even the 'syn-bass' (???) fade-out at the end...love it...
