Strange -- That website on the windshield goes to this video now... You're welcome! haha
No way man! That is awesome!
Lol that's neat
Omg hahahaha!!! Freakin awesome!
@@AutoAuctionRebuildsyou did a good job making the video I am very excited for the future.
Woooowww that’s freaking awesome!! I just checked!!
I would leave the rad and electric fans, last thing you want to do is go backwards on engine cooling.
The 6AL is a huge improvement over the factory. These 2 improvements are what I do with any of my cars I do any performance upgrades on.
Exactly my thoughts!! That Mishimoto electric fan is just about tops on the market... so why go back to an outdated, analog style setup!!😅😅😅😅
@@briangallagher9426ya I don't get it
You can always tell the power by the fuses. 30 amp = 300 watts etc. That DEI amp is not great, the Polk subs are decent, but the US Acoustics amp is USA MADE by Zed audio. Very cool amp. I was sponsored by US Acoustics and won a world championship with them
I love this car. Its beautiful. Not sure how you only paid $2500. I'd pay double that without thinking twice.
Yes, Randy, you got an absolute steal with this one. Running nice, it could be $8-10k for one in good condition. Maybe more. I'd send you my old hatch shade if I still have it, but IDK if I still do. I'll take a look at my parts stash and see if I have anything you could use.
I have a red one also if you can’t find one. I have owned 18 Mustangs so I have a few parts laying around. I also have stainless tips all the way up to the mufflers.
I would say more than that. I would peg it at $12,500 myself. 😊
@@carlbernard4197 it's crazy to me to think it could be worth more than it cost new. My 87 was $11,400 sticker and I paid about $10,600 for it.
chassis bars are sub frame connectors...the convertible foxes really needed them they twisted alot
You got a bang up deal on that car. I would buy it all day long for that price rat poop and all. These cars back in the day were notorious for getting stolen and stripped for parts.
So looking forward to this one Randy! Love mustangs especially an LX! She looks good! Damn feel so bad for the original owner that’s so sad! And the 2nd owner delivered to you that’s so nice! Awesome news on the Monte Carlo! Sub frame connections
Hopefully he is enjoying watching the videos.
I was around for the heartbeat of America days
Those are two piece balancers and over time the rubber piece between them tend to let the outer ring spin and become unbalanced. I had one completely separate and spin off on me while I was making a street pull. Sure will put a nasty dent in your hood. Those are subframe connectors. Adjustable upper and lower control arms in the rear. It even has Eibach lowering springs. The red ones are the Eibach Sportline lowering springs.
Ooh yikes that is enough to make the sphincter tighten up real quick 😮
Nice score Randy 🚘🔥🔥👍. All you need is some Dj magic mike Drop the bass. That car screams Nostalgia ✨️🤘. Salute Randy 😎
Hello Randy. The 1989 Ford Mustang LX is a good looking car. Let's hope that it runs and drives with no problems.
I like these kind of videos better than going to the auction...
Ok???
Just like watching you fix them up.
I so much enjoy the older cars like your working in now ! I would rather see 3-5 older cars than a cheap European car like a mbenz or BMW ! Love the content that has you working in your real wheelhouse . things that you know well and educate others on these older cars with character than pill shaped cars with all the big 4-500 hp . Please continue on with the real stylish cars that each have a unique body nd history that were obviously well built because they are still around . not like a rusted out Japanese scrap box !
Wow!! What a steal!! Definitely one of the cars on my bucket list.
You and me both!
It is a great car! I enjoyed mine for 306k miles since I got it new. It's pretty similar in specs now too, I just have to install the new engine!
RANDY that was cool thanks for showing us the stang. Really enjoyed the content and channel 👌
Thanks for coming
If you want to keep the lower gauge cluster put in gauges that will also help like maybe an AFR gauge, oil temp and fuel pressure gauge maybe...you got a smoking deal on that wish I could find those
You have some very strange ideas about what is good and or bad. To each their own. But to delete the mishimoto, delete the 6al ignition, I have been a fan for several years and respect everyone’s personal opinion and taste, no matter how wrong they maybe. lol.
Man what an absolute sweet Foxbody. Shame it was sitting right here in NC & I had no clue. Glad to see you getting her back into shape. Between this and the Z24 man you take me back to my High School days. Still have my black 90 GT I drove & girl I dated for multiple years had a black Z24. Man the memories🤣💯. Keep ‘em coming Randy. I know you went more personal with the Fox-but if you ever decide to part ways with it, would love to bring her back to NC.
RANDYYYYYYY.....awesome video man I really miss these videos of you working on cars ... I am an OG SUBCRIBER.. not a fan of the walk around but I still watch and support... but just wanted to say this was a great video keep them coming.. :)
Another fox body saved heck yes
U Wii be able to enjoy this fox body I remember the last one u had i saw the video's it always needed work instead of enjoying it i like the color to it's a keeper the 87 Buick is to this is just me but if u decide to keep to cars i would keep the Buick and mustang all day good video
That car will not be in good hands because after a month randy will just sell it 😂😂😂
That is a great car. Congrats! My senior year in high school (1999-2000) I got myself a 1991 GT. Black on black 5 speed. Had low milage @ 30k. It was cool seeing all those parts again. Many of them I had. Including the hood, and subframe connectors H pipe, and under drive pullies. It really was an addiction back then. I would read every 5.0 mag and Muscle Mustangs issue cover to cover. My plan was to pull the engine and stroke it along with a Vortech Charger kit.
Randy, my wife had a '89 GT convertible. What a fun car to drive. 25 mpg @ 70 mph. The turbine wheels were a pain to clean though. Watching to see how yours turns out.
@bernardcrane750 sheww you ain’t lying about the turbines being a pita to clean. First Christmas I had mine asked my old man for a set of pony’s along with a few other goodies. Woke up to a full set of 5 lug chrome’s, along with all the conversion parts, full exhaust-ect. Still take her out during spring-fall, every time takes me right back to my teenage days.
Randy,
I’m not a big Fan of Fox Mustangs, but that’s a sharp looking car with some pretty cool upgrades. The paint is remarkably nice, so far as I can tell on my iPad. It seems to fly with the new fuel pump and sounds healthy.
Plus, it’s obvious you’re having a blast with it and your joy is infectious.
It sure is a lot of car for $2500! Did the guy agree to sell it for that before or after you showed him your gun? LOL!
Great content, great video and great presentation by one of the best on RUclips!
Peace my friend,
DrRick
So the guy wanted it to go to a good home right so he sold it to randy a guy who is gonna inevitably sell it within a few months 🤣 no offense bro its ur money ur car do what you want with it but he shoulda sold it to someone that was actually gonna keep it and enjoy it not drive it for a few then resell it like i said no offense u buy and sell cars thats what you do
Well he sold it to me so yeah. 👍
Well that’s understandable! I’m sure you’ll get it all fixed! Honestly thought this’d be nicks first car! Keep it up randy!
Prelude seats...very popular in 1990 found in everything but a Honda...mustang seat back twist and ripped
Those pedals look like small fire honda
Unsure if it has been mentioned although those seats are most likely out of a Prelude. Possibly a 5th however maybe 4th gen. I had a 4th they looked similar to those
93 to 96 Lude seats I was hoping nobody beat me to the answer yet lol. They look good in the right car just not the Mustang...
“The Heartbreaker”… okay, that’s a pretty good decal. I approve 😂
Heck Randy, you are probably the hardest worker youtuber ever! Tires me out just watching you! Fantastic content.
Love the Stang....definitely a KEEPER🙌 next video, you should race it against your lady's GT....good content
Yes that would be a seriously interesting race between those two Mustangs 🤔 😊
Man, i miss my Fox body. I have an 2017 GT, but the Fox holds a special place in my heart.
Same here man.
I really enjoy my 16 GT too, but if I had the new engine installed, I'd probably be driving my 87 5.0 LX hatch just as much!
Keep all the gauges - including the tacky tachometer. You can even refer to it as such, "My tacky tack."
You're going to sell it eventually, and those frills are appealing to the kind of person who will buy this.
Now this is what Auto Auction Rebuilds is!!!
Randy's hot rod shop.look forward to see your new projects
Good luck.😊
Good Morning There My Good Little Bro Randy Lee Shear Of Auto Auction Rebuilds
Dude leave those electric fans...that would be crazy to downgrade to mechanical fan...those will last forever and aren't causing parasitic power loss...some things you're talking about doing are downgrades
Awesome video! Really like that you actually did the work on camera. The car seems like a lot of fun! Can't wait for more content on it!!
The foxbody will be a great car for your son....
It’s not for him.
Replacing a failing fuel pump on my Chevy Impala JDM when it went out earlier this year was mechanical torture with lots of grime, but it got my engine running healthy again.
Great work on the Mustang, Randy!💯👍🏾
..haha.
Hey Randy love your videos you got 4 of my favorite cars , on the mustang lx I would leave the gauges in & on the monte Carlo leave the stock rims on them are some sweet cars you have 🖤👍
$2500? I sold my excellent condition '91 5.0 LX 4 years ago for $7K!
They did a cobra brake upgrade, got a hell of a steal on that car. Fuel pressure should be about 38/39 psi under vac and about 43/44 not under vac. Those ignition boxes are always a problem when old, computers also known for 3 of the capcitors leaking and causing MAF and fuel pump issues. All easy fixes just gotta find which are causing problems.
@autoauctionrebuilds 5:25 Those look to be 92-96 Honda Prelude seats.
Man those front LED's must blind everyone hahaha. I hate aftermarket LED's in reflector headlight housings. You should go back to stock or get aftermarket one with projectors (since they don't blind people at all, even if you have led's or xenons). Awesome car
Thx for sharing Randy - You cut through this stuff like hot butter - thx for the tour and explaining the fuel setup - I had a FoxBody GT Navy Blue over the Silver with a geared rear end. Fun stuff - can't wait to hear it with the new exhaust.
I've had my 91 5.0 convertible over 30 years now it still runs strong.
The 5.0 is one tough cookie 🍪 😊
I would change the regulator first. The aftermarket ones tend to go out. Set it at around 32-34lbs.
None of the stuff you were pointing out as fake on the car matters to anyone who wants a Fox body. These cars were day two modified to an owners taste. The mechanical upgrades are what's important, and if done correctly, add to the drivability and value of the car. if I had the money right now, you'd have a buyer right here! ❤ 👍🏼
Randy why not call your show Auto Auctions Buy N Sell !!!
Because it’s my show.
You stole that Mustang.
Things out in Oklahoma seem bargain-like when being so used to the prices on the NorthEast Coast. Mentioning a super-expensive battery, was thinking you'd say over $300. Cheapest car batteries around here start at $150. Any cheaper, & it's just a tractor-type battery. Also, for the car your getting, I'd expect same condition car here in the NE at $13,000 & judging by components upgraded, even higher.
That's a killer deal on a badass car! I actually prefer the LX over the GT.
Such a cool find Randy. I'm gonna have to watch again after work. My guess the seats are from a 93-96 prelude.
Bingo
@@AutoAuctionRebuildsOK I was wrong. I guessed them being out of a Volkswagen Golf GTI 😮
Seats look to be phenomenal condition for the age
Honda prelude seats
That Magnaflow will be awesome! Looking forward to seeing that!
And that is really going to sound awesome 😊😊
factor gauges are hot garbage if you want actual readings use the auto meter after market ones they installed.
Randy, the suspension alone cost way more than you paid for the whole car! wow!
I'd keep the electric fan set and just clean up the wiring but Nick needs to be doing the work because I know that's going to be his car.
That's awesome Randy!
Once you fix that ride height issue, that car is going to be a lot more fun to drive. You'll make $ on that one!
Awesome video Randy, like I I always say “I love your weekend fix it videos” Great Job my brother
I’m excited to see these two project cars come together. Great job Randy as always 👍
I love the red mustang fake cobra after market parts and all. But there you go deleting all the after market stuff. Smh
Yep that’s why it’s my car.
@@AutoAuctionRebuilds it is.
The “performance” chips were not worth the price.
You’d get just as good or better results from bumping timing to 14-16* and running 91 octane.
I would say this is a great deal Randy. Also awesome you got those sponsorships for the Monte Carlo and Grand National! Those seats came from a 90's Prelude. Once you get this Mustang fixed up the way its supposed to be it will be amazing. Love that hood as well with the scoops.
If you were going to keep the car I would want to dry ice the underneath of the car it would look amazing it really is a nice car especially for the money you paid
I like the mustangs but the only thing that kept me from buying one brand new back in '86 is. It happened to be a little misty out and I couldn't even keep that car under control driving it normally so it was a car that couldn't be driven in any kind of bad weather and me being here in New York we get that white stuff. I wasn't about to pay that kind of money for a car that could only use on clear days and even then he had to be careful
My buddy bought a 69 Marc 1 wasn't told that it only runs on race fuel
Ooh that gets a bit pricey 😮😮😮
#AutoAuctionRebuilds I Been waiting for this video 😂😂😂 smh 😂
Don't paly with Electric fans batter then original
That's a nice car but i don't like the ride hight it's too low
Good content Randy. Nice to see you working on a car. Love to watch and maybe learn something.
Sounds like you got a steal of a deal😂😂 pun intended
That Stang is a beauty! And the Grand National! And the SHO!
Great cars coming to the channel and great content to look forward to, Keep it up Randy. 👍
honda prelude seats
Bingo!
I recognized those seats lol It's a mid 90s Honda Prelude seats I owned one
Looks like those are Honda prelude seats.
The LX 5.0 WAS the Mustang to buy in 1989 and yrs around that. I bought one and still have it.
That's horrible what the shop did to him
You had me at foxbody….looking forward to this series.
leave the cooling set up the way it is more cooling the better
Except the car is practically overheating all the time because the cooling system isn’t functioning properly
Auto auction rebuilds they crashed my brothers 2003 Chevy I need a new car to go to college and work
You’ll need to buy one then…
Yes I hope you can give me the Escalade
Umm no. I’m giving that to one of my kids.
I'm going to unsubscribe from the channel
Man what a crybaby. Bye now!
Keep up the good work Randy.Enjoy you and Monkey Wrench Mike.
Those seats are off a 4th gen honda prelude
Forgot the gasket. Famous last words
This is better than the last one you got from copart with all that blow by, and yeah as soon as I seen the cobra elbem. I was like that’s not a cobra but it looks good tho.
Prelude seat I think 91-94 or something like that but sure Honda prelude seat.
Bingo!!
I think this car should be your stepson's project and future car!Excellent choice and certainly a bargain!
The 89 was the last year for the non airbag tilt wheel....90 and up got the airbag and no tilt. What a score for $2500 delivered! Also, I still remember changing a leaking FPR in a parking lot over 20 years ago....it suuuuuucked!
The giggles in your voice says it all!!
I had a triple black lx loved that car i sold it for more then i payed for it
Whoever is watching this video, never give up on your dreams.😇
i would leave electric fans
I have a couple sets of Polk audio speakers in my house. They’re made in Baltimore Maryland USA represent Polk audio, makes some of the best speakers ever.
You can get the cheap ones at Best Buy for about $600 or you can get their top-of-the-line speakers for $20,000. And everything in between. I’ve always been impressed with POLK audio
Mannnnnn you got a steal on the car
These are LEGIT…..THE UGLIEST MUSTANG’S EVER PRODUCED!! I will NEVER understand why anyone liked these, then again I have to remember that this came along right around the same time as hair “metal” (which WAS NEVER EVER METAL AT ALL, Metallica,
Slayer, Testament WERE Metal…Cinderella, Slaughter, Bon Jovi, Ratt, Poison etc WERE/ARE NOT Metal) mullets, and guys wearing makeup.
Had a 89 LX with almost the same amp and sub box setup, except had the EQ and crossovers. Fosgate PUNCH amp wired in MONO with 2 12s, and the 4 channel running the other speakers. Did the 5 lug conversion with parts from a Lincoln, and had the SVO Turbo wheels
Your 5.0, is 1989 which in Canada those years around that time they were titled from Ford as Cobras. I have a 89 GT and my title says Mustang GT Cobra. Call late model restoration for verification of truth.
