Personally I have no problem with income tax. It means as a nation we can pay for free health care, ambulances and helping those in more need of assistance than ourselves, if we are lucky not to be poor, unemployed or homeless. Income tax equates to kindness in my eyes.

Have a great time in FL! It looks so relaxing. It may be the mulch in the soil that is causing your plants to not grow. Too much mulch applied over the root ball or resting against the trunk can cause problems for trees. Roots often grow up and into the mulch causing stem girdling roots which can kill trees. If you change out the soil under the plants that aren't growing, that may help them to flourish.

Joel there is federal income tax, just not state income tax. I enjoyed your Winter Park day. I was wondering if the Columbia is affiliated with the Columbia in St Augustine, once I saw the interior. It has a similar vibe. Are they a Cuban Restaurant? I love the Columbia. You were lucky to have such a short wait.

Joel I don't know if Indian Laurel Column Ficus plants grow well in Florida but they are all over southern california and we've lined the perimeter of our yard in them for privacy from the neighbors on either side.. They grow fairly rapidly and can create a blanket of privacy. You plant a certain distance apart and they will grow together so you have total privacy. You can cut them very cleanly so they don't sprout all over the place. Ours have grown very (very) tall now - They are a clean very nice looking plant.

Joelle, you will pay Federal income tax but not State income tax in Florida. The State will find other ways to tax you, such as Sales tax, but it’s still nice not to pay State income tax.
They will get you with insurance for sure. If your home here is your main residence, you can apply for Homestead Exemption which keeps your taxes lower.

Florida is also a poliltical cesspool at the moment. Not a friendly state towards women or the LGTBQ+ community. Us Americans are looking for ways out of the US, so it's crazy to me that someone would want to move here from Europe.

There are many fun non-park things to do. Winter is the perfect time to go kayaking in nearby springs to see the manatees that are wintering inland.

Joel, Soil in florida is $#it!!! you need to buy several bags of composted soil with manure. Than you need to plant for sun or shade and u need to keep the plants watered for the first few weeks. Id ask neighbours to water every other week if you dont have a watering system. Also go to an actual nursery where they can give invaluable advise on what plants to chose for what location. and soil is #1
Also when you prune your shrub, go into the centre and cut out the old wood as well as giving it a hair cut. I would suggest you go to Northern florida and Georgia , Savanna to check out places to live. I hear Savanna is gorgeous. I am from Canada, and go to Florida for a couple of weeks but it is not my favourite... to churchy and fake for my liking plus the politics is vile

I used to go to Busch Gardens when I visited my Grandma in Tampa. So many great memories and seeing the Clydesdale horses ❤! Love your vlogs
25 miles is in neighborhoods and school zones. 35 and 45 are to so with more than one lane in each direction eg boulevards, parkways. But yes the posted speed is the speed limit. 65 is highways going through cities and 70 is rural/farmland with on ramps limited. Definitely impressed that Keegan drives so well on the other side of the road. I couldn’t drive at all in UK.

I have to admit that I was watching on tender hooks waiting for Keegan to get down on one knee.
So deflated when I heard about the other couple; but someday I know.

@@TheJoelWoodOkay. You should go to St Augustine on the coast it's about an hour away from Orlando on the east coast of florida. It is the oldest little area in the United States it's very beautiful and historical and has great shops and restaurants you would be very impressed by the architecture. It's very stunning

We also love Celebration and The Columbia is our FAVORITE restaurant. There is also one in St. Augustine and the original in Tampa. Enjoy!!!! If you haven't already tried the "1905 Salad, it's a MUST!!!!!

Speed limits on the highway are usually based on population density. The further you get from the congested city center the higher the speed limit will be. Most states have a max of 70 or 75 in more rural areas. Highway minimum is usually 55.

Florida is really nice and we have been going for decades. You should go to St Augustine on the coast for a half a day. It's really beautiful and very historical with Incredible architecture and is the oldest area in the United States. You would be very impressed there's also some really nice shops and great restaurants. You would feel like you're on a Caribbean Island and it's only about an hour away from Orlando. ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻👍🏻

Because as a Brit living in the US when I get asked oh what's it like living in America, I always say I don't know, but I can tell you what it's like living in South Florida. Joel it looks like the other side of your house is constantly in the shade so you would need shade-loving plants like rain forest species. I’m sure the local nursery will help you. BTW, why no fences between houses? I’d hate that. In Australia we always have dividing fences even if the houses are close together.
Go to park Avenue in winter park FL. It’s about 30 minutes away from Disney. Also Thornton park, mills and Ivanhoe in Orlando is Orlando’s “gayborhood”.
Hey Joel, Have fun in Florida. I recommend a visit to the Kennedy Space Center if you've never been, or maybe save it until you come back with Keegan's family. It's about an hour drive from Orlando. St Augustine is nice too, as someone else here suggested. Speaking of Saints... St Patrick's day is Sunday March 17. Also, just an FYI. Living in an area that you vacation at will no longer feel like a vacation. That is why I will not want to live full time in my vacation condo.

It's really simple, but may take you a while for a plant so robust lol
You just take some scissors and snip off all the flower heads that are already done. If it's a bud, you leave it to bloom.

Are you allowed to have a privacy fence on the property line? That would add privacy instantly. Plants simply take too much time to grow and need too much maintenance.
