I have a question that's always puzzled me. So when you have a herniated disc and you remove the bulging part where is the rest of the disc? And how does it stay intact when ever half of it has already herniated out and been removed?

Just found your channel, I love you my brother. I’m going for my 5th spinal surgery, 3 ACDFs, and this is the second Lumbar fusion. Hopefully this XLIF procedure is better than going through back muscle like the last one. I wish you were here in Virginia Beach. I have a son who is a neuroscientist ( not a surgeon) so I appreciate your dedication to school. Continue your great work, you are an inspiration.

Dr. Webb - How’s it hanging? Okay pun intended- I just purchased one of those teeter hangup inversion tables; in part due to the lauded spinal benefits it purportedly provides. What’s your take on it? Would you recommend a daily inversion regimen for people healthy enough and able to do so? If yes, would it be for spinal health, or something else (e.g. cardiovascular)? Having watched your other videos I know you’re a regular gym goer; so you’re probably familiar with the “gravity boots” people use to hang upside down which evidently impart a similar effect as inversion tables. Are these actually good for the spine….or just a gimmicky myth?

Hi Doctor Webb. I love your surgery videos, especially your cervical. I am a lawyer, I am 58 years old, and I intend to apply for medicine. Does the dictir think I'm old for this? I am strong and I have good health, only the cervical bothers because I have osteophuto in C3-c4. I live in Brazil. Thank you, happiness for you and your family. Jesus blesses.

Thank you Dr. Webb. I have surgery next Wednesday.. 4th spine surgery in 3 years. They're extending my already fused L4L5 to go down to L4L5S1. Hopefully I get to keep the rods that they pull out! Is that an option? Thanks!

Hi i have degenerative disk disease. L5 L4 n i forget the other one but also the SI joint is so painful n the other spine issues in the lower back have stenosis n a bulging disk n its all so painful. So my dr . Gave me a shot in my lower spine n it did nothing n my disks r really warn down so is there a surgery that i can get that can put like fake disks in that will support my spine ? Im 44 yrs old n was told ill eventually be in a wheel chair so i dont want pain pills, that just masks the pain while the problem is getting worse.. what would u have a patient do in this situation if u was my doctor that can fix my back? Is surgery my only option n should i get it now rather than waiting? Cause theres no cure to what i have n it just will get worse n worse over time... also i have what ppl call banana back/watermelon belly from the curve of the back in the same area

My friend, I have had multiple spine surgeries since I was 20, I am 49 now. Find yourself a good spine surgeon, and don't wait until it gets worse. You may get relief and some freedom between surgeries. I wish you the very best of luck. GB Limerick Eire!

hi I'm 45 n I'm wondering if after the surgery do u feel better or r u relying still on the pain pills as much as b4 the surgery? I was told surgery is the only way to correct my spine but I don't want my spine fused together, it sounds like they fuse the bones together meaning afterwards u lose ur ability to bend that area?

Top myth number 1: Orthopedic surgeons are just as good as Neurosurgeons in spine surgery.
Truth: If you need spine surgery, the only one you should seek first and foremost IS a neurosurgeon, which is the true spine surgery specialist.

You should go to the experts in conservative care first. Most of the time, you don’t need surgery. If you do, you will be referred to a specialist and told why you need for the specialist to evaluate them.
