Get a DEXA Scan - diet and exercise are not always enough. Been there with BAD osteoporosis and a spine fracture - destroyed my life for 3 years. I try to avoid taking drugs, but Evenity was a miracle - regained 16% BMD in a year.
JB Weld seems to fix lots of stuff Doc.....can't imagine being in your predicament.....ok now what'll I do? Enjoy all your videos ..... Dr Webb especially your bone crushing chiropractic "how'd that feel" show reel. Continued great success to you
You don't want to strip out someone's bone...lol I'd have nightmares about that, too. Screwing a fastener in and not having it bite into anything solid. BTW, now that you've been working out, is your A1C down?
I would think that a surgeons worst nightmare would be losing a patient or paralyzing a patient, and maybe bad bone /screw slipping is a somewhat close second. As I have said before, I think you are great and I love your videos. I would love to talk to you or contact you about an idea I have about some hardware ideas, I'm a retired machinist/millwright.
Just out of curiosity, When you increased the screws diameter did you also end up throwing in bone cement? I feel like I rarely ever see cement used in spine surgery. I am not sure if that is just physician preference/ no indication to use cement. But we use cement alllllll the time when putting in total knees on elderly patient, or patients with terrible bone quality. Any thoughts on this?
Hello. I live in San Antonio and I have a rare condition with a winged scapula not the thoracic nerve but the other nerve with the s and moving my scapula further and further to the left on my left side. It’s gotten worse and worse over the last 6 months. I’ve seen four doctors each one being just as surprised as the last. Physical therapy won’t work because the nerve damage is to far but so quickly is what’s making everyone go huh just thought you might have an idea.
I would like to know what caused the low density in this particular patients spine, and which part of the spine was affected (Cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacral).
Then you tell the patient that he is screwed.
I would hate to be diagnosed with a chronic case of shitty bones
As someone who is not a surgeon, I can attest to this statement.
A surgeon's house tour? maybe

How is the patient doing? If you’re allowed to share.
P.s. As a pre-med interested in ortho, your videos are literal gold.

Does anyone know the difference between how a herniated disc and a bulging disc is repaired in surgery?
Do you start all your patients on bisphosphonates or get a bone density study?

When I had spine surgery 35 years ago, they used a cement like substance for it
Seems so stressful been a surgeon
Can we see L5 s1 surgery? Thanks

What is the difference between instability and spondylolisthesis? Thank you!

I love this channel. Btw, I see you cannot stop washing your hands. Heehee.
Same concepts in dental implantology
Sorry to hear you and your patient had a bad outcome
No pre drill?
Tyler Perry, is that you?
