- In case you missed it, Daniel Ricciardo is back at Oracle Red Bull Racing as Third Driver for the 2023 Formula 1 season, and the Behind The Charge cameras have been documenting every step of his return. Join Dan's first day back at the Red Bull Technology Campus in Milton Keynes where he reminisces over some previous memories, on home turf in Australia and Stateside in Miami.

I hate to say this but my god I’d love maybe a Covid test if those are even a thing or a1 week hiatus for whatever for checo to see what Danny can do in that car. Him and max like a similar car so I’d love to see him get a shot similar to George & Hulk in 2020. Even max. Even though if he missed a race that’d hurt the title chances but I’d sacrifice a max race to see DR3 back behind the wheel. And I’m a Max diehard. But I’m really rooting for DR… why not. Maybe Mercedes/Ferrari step up their game and max can prove his superiority over checo with cars in between them every race and maybe just maybe if checo is out of the title fight with 3-4 races to go. Maybe they’ll stick DR in there to test him. No disrespect to checo. He’s fun too. I really just miss and think F1 could use a dose of MAXIEL.
Daniel is the person that got me into F1, he will always be my favourite and i hope to see him back in a great car if it’s right for him 🤞🏻

I hope it’s not from Netflix’s DTS series. Danny was/is one of thee best purely on his driving skill. If we account all around personality for me he is the best.
The fact that they kept his trophies, his helmets, his old cars, his pictures on the wall, and everything else at the RB facility shows that they were always proud of him, loved him & respected him. I never saw anything like that at McLaren. Red Bull is his home.

It’s easy to forget that there are only four drivers on the grid with more wins than Daniel and three of them are multiple world champions. He’s the real deal.
Absolutely. The miserable McLaren years but have been quite tough for him mentally, especially given his history of podiums and wins. Very pleased to see him back at RBR.

The fact that when just about everyone on the Grid said that Danny Ric was washed, it was the most wholesome thing to see that RB stood by him. The fact that they are actively working to rebuild him is incredible.
Failure of an RB junior as popular as Dani harms whole RB academy's image, so if they can help him back up it will be a huge win for Helmut and the whole academy, RB doesnt like losing drivers.

The fact that Danny wasn't sure on how to feel at the beginning and how his mood went changing throughout the video is so relieving knowing that he went through that horrible time at McLaren that didn't do any favours to his mental health.
Daniel is living the dream. Paid by 2 teams and not having the pressure and that many days away from home is the perfect 'in between' year. I sure hope he'll be back on the grid sooner than later.

The way I will always stand by this- I do not care what people says about RB, this team is REAL. genuine, sincere and overall an amazing team. The fact they stayed by Ric’s side and were the first ones to stand up for him, I respect that deeply. He deserves his confidence back and I am sure he’ll find it back with RB to bring back his best self whenever he goes back to racing.
Its really nice seeing Daniel happy, and appreciating the love that Red Bull has shown him.
And you got to love Christian Horner, the way he immediately defended him against McLaren and Zac 😅as soon as he came back.
But man, seeing this vid and all these emotions and history, I can only imagine what Vettel`s return would look like.
Yeah for real, Seb is the driver that got me into F1 in the first place, I've watched 2010-2013 multiple times, first to last race, absolutely amazing stuff, mad respect for Daniel too, he's a driver that is championship material on his day.
Like Seb, and everyone non merdeces, he got unlucky with the regs, and couldn't fight for a championship, but hopefully if the next few years pan out, we could see another fight like 2010 and 2012, if Daniel plays his cards right, he could be in the fight over the next 2-3 years

It's even cooler knowing they have his old race engineer working with him on the sim. I think it goes to show how serious Horner is about getting his mojo back. If he can get back to his Red Bull level it's going to make it really tough on Checo to perform.
It’s tough to say any driver did more for a team without winning a championship than Daniel Ricciardo. I remember going to see him at the 2015 or 2016 race at Austin, and him and Red Bull were the only team I would root for.
Even in his most down times he comes across as such a decent human, they say the true character of a person will be revealed in their worst moments but this guy exudes this positive nature no matter what, I suppose that is why we F1 fans love him so much…..can’t wait to see him back in a car soon!

DR is pure gold. He is an excellent driver to be sure and I want to see him back. But he is a genuine superstar and his PR value to Red Bull is through the roof.

@@Cirerin Never say never. Who knows what the future brings? Sometimes relationships can turn sour on a dime for whatever reason (sometimes more a corporate relations issue than a driver personal one as competitors), and a place needs to be filled again when that happens.
He's not meant to drive the current generation of F1 cars. He's not really able to confidently take any seat if were being honest, fan favorite or not.

Now you say that I am hoping that Danny gets a chance to drive the car once this season in a race just to prove himself to the doubters, this either by replacing Max or Checo.

Daniel is the most charismatic driver to grace F1 in years, his positive mindset makes him a valuable asset for any team but glad he is home with red bull. Would love to see him back out on the tracks soon.

Wish RBR had three cars on the grid with DR3 in one- while the result would have been obvious with a podium lockout, but seeing this guy race and on the podium celebrating is something else. But thanks RBR for not letting the warmest guy on the grid get away from the sport.
Someone on Reddit did the math that, if Max gave his car to Daniel after wrapping up the WDC, Red Bull could get a 1-2-3 in the drivers championship. Kind of crazy.
