The grooviest. We produced a documentary on Doug Sahm called Sir Doug & The Genuine Texas Cosmic Groove.. It's coming back on Nov 6th in honor of Doug's birthday :)
Happy Cinco de Mayo 2023. This is the perfect music. I have been listening to Doug Sahm since i was 17. I had the Border Wave album. I am 61 now. I am still listening. Unfortunately i never got to see him in person.
Doug Sahm made some very influential music.Shes About a Mover will always be one of my favorite tunes. The unique sound of the Tex-Mex Tornadoes is unparalleled to this day. RIP my friends.
I really love listening to The Texas Tornados Songs. That's my own "National Anthem"............My day is not complete if I haven't heard The Texas Tornados Live at Gruene Hall Texas. How I wish I have the complete list of The Texas Tornados Songs.
32:41. WOW!!! that’s Steve Jordan/Esteban Jordan with the eyepatch who was the Jimi Hendrix of conjunto accordion. Why didn’t they give him a solo it would’ve been so cool
I love this music, but it,s so sad that these guys will never perform live again together. All we have are their memories. These songs also remind me of my Aunt and Uncles who were from Texas, all of them around during these years ,but resting in peace.
Many memories at Gruene Hall and lots of love for Doug Sahm and the Texas Tornadoes. Crazy how there musical style is coming back around in popularity! Gotta love Texas Music!
My wife and I sat beside Augie and his friends at a small restaurant in north San Antonio on June 4, Augie’s 84th birthday. He is such a nice man. He and Flaco were to perform in Rockport, TX the next night.
I feel its a great tribute to both Gruene Hall & The Texas Tornados ! I would like to get a copy , Ilive just down the street from the hall . And was Gary P.s roadi we had many a great night there !
Damn...i didnt see this before cause i was focused on the Austin city limits live performance.....i was there just a few weeks ago...🙏🏻 Thank you Texas Tornados
My wife and I saw Shawn with Augie, Flaco and the band there two years ago. Thoroughly enjoyable. Also enjoyed Mitch Webb and the Swindles as well as Joe King Carrasco. Missed Freddy and Sir Douglas though.
Yep... "buckle polishing"... I remember the girls with their fingers in the back belt loop, and granddaughters standing on granddad's boots to learn the steps
Love these guys and miss their music.I have tried to collect all their albums.Almost there ,just need the spanish version of los texas tornados.Anybody have any copies that are not over priced?
Saw Los Texmaniacs at Gruene Hall couple weekends ago. Just not the same. Sure, watching and listening to Augie and Flaco was terrific, but just not the same. Wasted days and wasted nights. Gruene Hall is still Gruene Hall. Leann Rhimes played there this past Friday and Saturday nights 2/14-15/2020. Couldn't make that. That would have been a great show. For those of you that have never been to Texas, put this one on your bucket list. Bring the whole family and soak in Texas history. There is a LOT to do in this area.
Get RUclips premium. I got it 6 years ago and I've never regretted it. Line up what you want to hear/watch, set "Autoplay" on and forget it. For hours or however long you want. The sound is very stable and the volume is level. I think they'll let you try it for a month for the free. Just don't forget to to cancel it before the 30 days is up if you don't want it. 😬
The band was playing a bar gig in San Antonio, Texas when a lovely lady began dancing in front of the stage. Group leader Doug Sahm said to his bandmates, "She's a body mover, isn't she?," inspiring the song. That title was deemed too risqué for airplay, so they changed it to the nonsensical "She's About A Mover."
Doug Sahm and Freddie Fender gone too soon. The Texas Tornados continue with newer members, and are still great, but there was something special about the original.
Such an outstanding bunch of guys with a real unique sound. THE BEST!
I couldn’t put it any better, fantastic music.
What a RUclips jewel this is!

I wish the set included Louie Ortega - a truly exceptional guitarist and songwriter. He brings so much energy to the band!
The finest PARTY-BAND there ever was!

Juan de Argentina
The best venue to see live music!
Anyone who champions Doug Sahm is alright in my book. I have been requesting Sahm songs from cover bands for years and years. Loved that guy.
Love these guys.Brings back great memories of Tucson.
Absolutely wonderful!
I like to see people enjoying this music the way it should be done, by bumping buckles and moving counter clockwise around the floor!
Yep... "buckle polishing"... I remember the girls with their fingers in the back belt loop, and granddaughters standing on granddad's boots to learn the steps
The greatest of the great!
que dios los bendiga a los vivos y guarde a los que se nos adelantaron FREDDY Y DOUG"gracias por tan buena musica" desde Ocotlán, Jalisco

I'm glad no one's made you take this down ExpatBlues. Excellent!!
Why is this so quiet? The commercials are just booming because I have the volume up so loud to hear the music.

Me deleito escuchando a Texas Tornado, cada uno de sus integrantes es clave, juntos Fenomenal!!!
Gracias Texas
She's About a Mover is an abstract concept.. have heard the song hundreds of time and that's my best take on it..:)
