Chuck Berry's Johnny B. Goode is one of the songs that's engraved on the' Golden Record' attached to each of the two Voyager spacecraft that left Earth in 1977. These spacecraft are travelling around 38,000 mph and are now about 14 Billion miles from our home planet, and in interstellar space. Chuck Berry's music will live on in the eternity of space and time. Those of us who ever had the privilege of seeing him perform in person will have that memory for the rest of our lives. R.I.P. Mr. Berry, and thank you for all the great music.
@@richardscally694 Thanks for your note. Chuck was already on another planet, even in the 50's when he first hit the music scene. Now he's out among the stars in the Universe. There will never be another like him. Hail Hail Rock N' Roll! :-)
@@SteveC-p5m I can't help thinking that eons from now in some distant alien civilization an authority figure in their government will figure out how to play Voyager's record. At that moment the teenager's life has forever been changed and Rock & Roll takes the entire planet's youth by storm! A whirlwind of music and revolt!
@sydney5732: Correct! Chuck Berry "King of Rock and Roll"! Elvis Presley "King of Music"! What did Chuck Berry say to a journalist about Elvis Presley: "There will never be anyone greater than Elvis Presley"!
I saw Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis and Bo Diddley all in one incredible show about 16 years ago...they brought the house down...hundreds of people were dancing in the isles and just going crazy. They are all without doubt some of the greatest Rock N' Rollers the world has ever seen. RIP to them all...and thanks for the music.

Technically rock n roll took elements of blues, discarded others, added other ideas and was / its own thing. The antecedence is real but they are not the same.

Thanks for posting this, including some I haven't seen before. As John Lennon said before he and Chuck sang a couple of songs together, 'Hail, hail, Rockn'roll !' For Johnny B Goode, how WHITE all the kids are, so no danger of racial mixing there... except, what about Chuck?
Too bad he wasn't actually playing during most these videos, no until the French video. Oh, well. that's the way it was done. I prefer it when he's performing live, a great guitar player.
His live performances were disappointing. He had no regular band. He would turn up in town and hire the cheapest musicians available and demand payment, from the promoter, upfront and in cash. It’s not really respectful to the fans. Elvis had a permanent band and hired the best musicians, regardless of cost.
