Reducing the radius while COVID is still around is so stupid. Beyond stupid, really. It was a good Quality of Life for the game. There are pokestops near me that YOU CANNOT reach from public sidewalks and you have to walk on private property to get to. But with the extended range you can reach them. Seriously, there is zero logical reason to REDUCE pokestop range ... at all. It isn't like they are going to get more money by doing it. Hell, the best thing for them to do would be to increase the range anyone can detect nearby raids.
I am filled with a sorrowful pride seeing Brandon and so many other key figures standing up to Niantic for these changes, but also infuriated that it has come to this. Thank you Brandon for always being the wholesome pillar for this community
Thanks, Brandon. This matters because the distance rollout is affecting the U.S. And New Zealand FIRST. Eventually, it WILL affect those of you in other countries unless our rollout causes change. I am in California and I literally have to stand on top of the pokéstop to spin it. So, I am putting the game down this weekend (August 7 & 8) in solidarity. I will play another game, clean my apartment, spend time with friends, etc. I am also not spending any more money as well.
I'm pissed about the pokestop distance. In the US, I was 6 feet from the actual pokestop and wouldn't give it to me. It's just annoying because, where I live pokestops are not on top of each other.
I live in a rural area and the most pokestops I could spin at once was 4 but when they changed the distance I can stand in that same spot and only spin 1 my pokeball count is suffering
we've got your back bud because you've always had ours. What Niantic are doing is a damn disgrace and im glad you and the other pogo influencers are taking a stand. Nothing but respect and love for ya Brandon.

I’ll join in on this. I needed to stop spending so much on the game regardless of the current issues. So this is an opportunity to help the community AND my wallet. Double win in my book
Im glad people are starting to take a stand, especially RUclipsrs with a bigger voice than the rest of us. You're doing the right thing Brandon. Thank you.
Thanks for standing up for us, Brandon! We have loved your content and you have given us a lot in the last 5 years. I also know it for a fact that you'll have awesome content for us even if you go free to play. Lots of love and support to you!
Brandon, i really appreciate that, i’m from Italy so I’m not involved by that change but I really think we have to work globally as an unique community, supporting each other. I’m gonna share this video in two groups of big italian cities where i play, hoping to convince everyone to do the same as you do. Really appreciate that, thanks man ♥️
I'm doing that for every content creator I can find. Even if it's a simple 1 mintue video staring a wall, I WILL watch it to make sure they still get paid. Most of these players main job is being a CC, so they have no plan for when they can't really create PoGo content regularly. We need to make sure the community's voice is heard through them.
Brandon, as a US player that spends 40$ every week, I really really really appreciate that you are taking a stance. I also stopped spending and playing the game. I only catch to keep my streak but I will not spend a single penny until this change is reverted. if the changer is not reverted, I will take the personal choice of quitting the game.
Im thinking of quitting after a while if they dont listen, but i don't think i can, the amount of money i spend on here is crazy and i don't want to quit
Thank you so much for speaking out. I went to the zoo today and I couldn't reach most of the stops there. I know these were the old ranges but it feels so much worse. I'm constantly getting the please try again error when I'm feet away from the signs. I hope we can make a change.
I just started the game this year. It’s really been a blast and I’ve loved the whole journey. I’m 1 million xp away from hitting my lvl 40 mark today and just wanted to thank you for all the help and tips throughout the year Brandon! You have my support and I will not be purchasing anything until things change and our community is heard

This doesn't affect me on a personal level, for where I live have been controlling the pandemic pretty well. However, I am very disappointed to how Niantic has completely ignored the players who are not as lucky as me, and the sheer arrogance of them for not even uttering a single word on the whole situation. Therefore, I will go free-to-play until Niantic eventually addresses the situation
It effects alot of people especially someone who is wheelchair-bound assessability to get to every stop and gym is a huge disadvantage and Safety hazards in my opinion.
With my back and foot being my worst enemy when I walk (cheers pandemic) I can't walk as far as I used to so the extended spin range was a godsend. With them still hurting and they take it away I feel massively effected :(
@@LunarDuo I’m sorry to hear that and it sucks that Niantic doesn’t even say a word on the situation, as if it treats its fanbase as non-existent. However, on the flip side, this situation will give us a better look into what kind of a company Niantic really is if they really decide to keep their mouths shut and continue shunning even ounce of communication to its players. So if things really get this bad, at least we will know that we should not be as invested in this game as we should be, which sucks cuz it is a really good game. However, this game as a software would have never come this far if it wasn’t for its amazing community, therefore it would be really arrogant of Niantic if they decide to ignore the most constituent component of the game
This is huge! Thank you Brandon! Unfortunately this is how far we have to go to potentially get some sort of change. It's time to bring Niantic down from their high tower back to reality.
i started playing a month ago, never spent money on the game, but i hope this makes a difference because i'm excited to be a part of the pogo community
Brandon thank you so much for all your efforts to improve the PoGO situation and to reach out to niantic. Niantic have done poorly recently to have listened to the community. I live in Austria and the reduced range doesn't affect me, but I, who buys coins for hundreds of euros every month, don't invest more money in this game until Niantic listens to us. Thank you for your support Brandon
Thank you! I hope you know that YOUR contribution to the cause is just as valuable. Like Brandon said, his monetary freeze alone won’t change anything. It’s when people like yourself do their part, that the snowball effect is in full force. Best regards from a f2p trainer.
Reduced range is just such bullshit though, so many places are hard to get to and with kids in tow, it was SOOOOOOO nice to be able to hit places without having to get the kids in to cemeteries and shit 😂 It was just goddamn STUPID to change the ONE THING that could’ve been kept for the better!!
Same here, man. I’ve bought a few of the events and such, stuff the kiddos enjoy but this is hella inconsistent and inconsiderate, taking in to account that an extended reach only keeps folks safer during a pandemic and folks who spoof haven’t had to worry about that AT ALL. Sooooo...what gives! 😆
It’s not gonna get better unless we either adapt or they miraculously respond. They should at least respond even if they tell us to piss off, at this point I don’t care
I respect your decision so much Brandon, I know that this game is your life and that you care very much for it. Very good of you to send such a stern message to Niantic!
I’m already f2p and been like this since the game started. It speaks a lot of you to stand up for the community, someone like you has a voice that others will listen. Hopefully niantic listens to the community and learn to live by that style. There’s nothing wrong with making lots of money and having a happy community. It’s easily possible.
I truly feel the sadness from you. Stay strong from here in Colorado, USA!! The reduced distance is definitely a struggle with some stops, but you are 100% right about Niantic needing to SAY SOMETHING!
Thanks Brandon, your decision and support to the players together with that of the other youtubers will surely bring us the change and adjustments we need.
I have an incredibly small voice in the Pogo creator spectrum. And being in the UK the distance change doesn't yet affect me. But I stand with you on not spending money on the game while Niantics ignorance to their player base continues.
It breaks my heart to see you so sad when you are always so happy!! I feel like that too, I started playing in 2016 and never stopped. I'm level 49 but now I'm not going to play today and who knows tomorrow. Niantic is ignoring us and that is just disrespectful to us the players. I know it's just a game but it brought me and many more people joy. No more Niantic, no more!
Huge respect for standing with us. You could have easily kept playing since you werent affected by the changes firsthand, but this is a HUGE thing youre doing for the community and the future of PoGo
Thank you for doing this, as someone who lives in a rural area in the US. This basically kills the game for me, I physically can't reach certain pokestops due to physical barriers. I'm sad
Just wanted to say thank you for choosing the community and having a voice for us is very much appreciated hopefully they will communicate back with us soon cuz I really love this game and I don't want it to die and I will do the same I will not spend any money until they respond to community of Pokemon go players deserve at least a little respect for my antics so they can communicate with everyone if it's right or wrong if it's good or bad at least they communicate and it's not just Niantic that needs to be communicated also the others that are involved with this game need to understand this is a big thing it needs to be taken care of in the end it's all about money for them anyway but as developers they came up with something that is very unique so for it not to die and they can create even more they need to listen to the community
i'm with you! Fellow Singapore player here- i'm uniting with my fellow trainers- i've stopped using coins since the start of the week. Happy to save my money!
@Ryan.H There is a freaking pandemic going on and it has severly affected a lot of places and it's new variants are coming. It's not about being lazy or something but rather there is a global pandemic going on and there is lockdown in many places and niantic is not adressing this while reverting the changes .No one has problem with old changes coming back but rather it's the worst timing for it.

TYSM Brandon Tan for bonding with the community the fact that your in Singapore and it doesn’t affect you yet you still play free sends a big message. I’m really hoping this will bring good change back to the game!
When I first saw some posts on reddit calling for a global boycott of Pokémon Go and in-app purchases made, I immediately thought there would be no way Brandon Tan would join this boycott. Boy was I wrong! So glad to see Brandon band together with the community so strongly!
I returned to play pogo because of the features they added in go fest last year. It made the game enjoyable for me. Dunno if I'll be playing much or at all when these changes arrive here. And I was hyped for the new stuff..
Yeah the game is much better with remote raids and increased incenses. Com days were super fun and go fest being available for all trainers that pay the ticket of course.
The reduced radius is absolutely ridiculous. I'm in the US and I sometimes can't even hit a gym when I'm right on top of it. It tells me I need to be closer to interact. I have less interaction radius then I did before Covid. Thank you for using your voice and your platform to address the issue, even though it doesn't effect you directly. It means a lot to the community.
Thank you, Brandon for standing up for the POGO community! I am with you. Not giving my hard earned dollars to a company who has no regard for their base! United we stand divided we fall!!
It’s tough for content creators like you to make that decision, since this is your way of life. It’s a big move to make, and really powerful. Proud of you.
@Ryan.H this is still their job and they put in hours of work and invest lots of their money in it. Just because you don’t think it’s a “real” job doesn’t mean it isn’t one. And like everyone else who plays the game, they have a right to be upset with a company that pays no attention to its userbase.
We all have a local Pokémon group that can text to each other and we have all chosen to not play today. Btw, I’m a 59 year old man who’s kids said Dad, you’d love this game! So they installed it on my iPhone and 1 year later level 40! I love the game but some things they have done over my 1 1/2 years have even myself scratching my head! Hopefully we can all come together to persuade Niantic to reconsider their decision to change the distance! Thx Brandon for all your advice, I really appreciate your expertise!
It’s just sad to see the way they ended up going with this game. I’m in the United states and the spin distance is ridiculous. I couldn’t even spin the spot at my local speedway INSIDE the speedway…. Hopefully they can change this quick because I don’t want this game to die. It’s been so fun
As someone who lives in the UK where the interaction decrease hasn't happened yet, I honestly agree with you. There are players out there that greatly benefit from the increased range, people with limited mobility or some form of disability, people with children that can't get out much and have a stop/gym just out of range without it just to give some examples. The increased range was meant to be "for the foreseeable future" (Niantic's *own* words, if I'm not mistaken) - not "until we decide to turn it off".
Niantic also makes money with sponsored gifts!!! you can disable seeing them in the settings :) free 2 play also means not using them...wanted to say this just in case :')
@@abhishekkrishna8542 No, these are gifts that are sponsored by different companies. They basically give Niantic money when they but those into the game with their name. Means if you click a on a sponsored balloon that got some free pokeballs, the sponsor is gonna give Niantic money...these are basically advertisements! (I hope I explained that without confusing anyone🥲)
BIG RESPECT Brandon, i was very excited for the upcoming events until the change happened, i have missed raids because of the character drifting and not getting in range, and i find the walk ive done for a year based on stops quite tedious now since i have to be crossing roads or getting away from the easy walkway... also stopped spending the 100+ a month and the interest for this game was gone today.. lets hope things change soon
I've never felt more depressed until I watched that intro. It's tough to not support a game you've been supporting for years, but Niantic has just been singing over our pleas and complaints and requests for an answer. I really hope that Niantic can muster up some form of response, besides releasing new events to cover it up.
I am a US player and I think this is inexcusable on Niantic's part!! The increased playing (and income!) during a tragic pandemic should tell them how important the increased distance is to players. Disabled players can play more, all players can still play in bad weather, players can spin without trespassing or interfering with access to businesses, and players can still maintain safe distances. Central Texas has raised Covid to Threat level 1 and people need to be encouraged to be safe, not to gather in close groups! I never played the other Pokemon games but my children played all of them. My daughter got me into Pokemon Go and it was a tremendous help to my mental health after being laid off in 2020; it gave me a reason to get out every day and at least take a little drive rather than stay home and feel depressed. Niantic sent a response that basically was no response; I really hope their "task force" takes us seriously!
Canada has got your back! You are the most fun and genuine Pokémon Go RUclipsr! Free to play will just make the grind more satisfying. It’s so humbling to see someone at the top of the game, wanting to step back to support and help the world and it’s safety first. You’re the realest!

I have experience that as well. The increase range allow the game to detect I was close to the stop more often.
Same here and the stops aren’t easy to access
I live in a rural area and the most pokestops I could spin at once was 4 but when they changed the distance I can stand in that same spot and only spin 1 my pokeball count is suffering
Yep, I had to get within 10 feet of a stop today before it would let me spin. It reminded me of GPS drift problems while raiding in the past.

The time has finally arrived when we will show Niantic that they should also listen to us. I really feel how you are doing at this moment and I will also follow this advice, I absolutely believe that you are right in this sense. I hope you continue to have a wonderful day, Brandon.
Thank you.

I'm doing that for every content creator I can find. Even if it's a simple 1 mintue video staring a wall, I WILL watch it to make sure they still get paid.
Completely agreed, I'm not affected by the changes either but the way Niantic treats us is unforgivable and no player should support them.
It effects alot of people especially someone who is wheelchair-bound assessability to get to every stop and gym is a huge disadvantage and Safety hazards in my opinion.
@@Tigerxx89 Yes I know, and that was what i said in the comment too
With my back and foot being my worst enemy when I walk (cheers pandemic) I can't walk as far as I used to so the extended spin range was a godsend.
I suggest all of us that are being affected by this horrible pokestop distance change to just take a break from the game until Niantic is forced to make a difference. We are always with you and please do not be stressed if you can't get pogo content out. Again, I personally will watch whatever you upload and please do whatever is best for you.

Best regards from a f2p trainer.
Reduced range is just such bullshit though, so many places are hard to get to and with kids in tow, it was SOOOOOOO nice to be able to hit places without having to get the kids in to cemeteries and shit 😂
It was just goddamn STUPID to change the ONE THING that could’ve been kept for the better!!

Sad to see you disappointed. Hope niantic does the right thing.
@Ryan.H I hope they change it back, because there’s still a pandemic.
Niantic will feel the loss of revenue from Brandon alone!

While the reversion will initially feel counter-intuitive, I do think it will eventually become trivial to everyone. It was like this before the pandemic, and will not become more dangerous than before the pandemic (-Unless you are disobeying pandemic regulations). If the pandemic is resolved in the area, it is very trivial, I am only concerned about areas where it is unresolved.
I am just more concerned about what Niantic has said about it. They said it will make the game even safer, which is false. I honestly just hope they only remove it in areas where the pandemic is resolved.

I appreciate you sticking up for the rest of the community. These changes have been a pain for me personally.
Brandon thank you for speaking for millions of players. I can hear the heartbreak in your voice, you're sincere in your love for the game.

I've never felt more depressed until I watched that intro. It's tough to not support a game you've been supporting for years, but Niantic has just been singing over our pleas and complaints and requests for an answer. I really hope that Niantic can muster up some form of response, besides releasing new events to cover it up.
Releasing all new shinies locked behind paywalls on the new event too! Oh well!
Brandon, Thank you for supporting the community (even though you haven't been affected directly yet)!!!!!!! Let’s hope Niantic finally listens!!
