    Thank you so much for making this video. Approximately one year ago I had a failure like this on my toothbrush. I assumed it was broken inside because I dropped it on a hard surface. I dropped it in the garbage and ordered a new one. My new one just failed in the exact same manner last night, so I decided to do a little Google research and found this video. Happily 20 minutes later my new toothbrush is working like brand new again and I don’t have to waste $200 replacing it with a new one. Thank you again

    So glad I found your video. The stem to attach the brush was loose exactly like the one you repaired. The hardest part was getting the bottom cover off. Thanks so much for saving me some money. Hey TinC33.
    Thank you so much for this video. I had the brush/problem you fixed at @10:40.
    I bought a set of two brushed in 2019. One had this problem after 2 years. I sent it in and got a replacement. Now the second one had this problem and Philips doesn't offer repair, instead a 20% coupon in their shop.
    Only one screw was loose and no locktide was applied there. I cleaned, applied and reassembled and it works perfectly now.
    I did not only save a lot of money buying a new one, but it showed me how unsustainable Philips is. A perfectly fine brush with one loose screw... that's unbelievable and no solution from their side.
    Thank you so much

    My sonicare had stopped vibrating good. So I watched this video and fixed it. It wasn't corroded inside at all. It still looked new inside. The motor had moved forward on the magnet. I moved it back some intead of taking everything apart I just unscrewed the visible motor screw and put a screwdriver on top of the motor and tapped it downwards until the motor moved from the magnet and then I tightened the screw back up really tight and it works like new again. Great video.

    • @TinC33
      @TinC33  2 года назад

      Thanks but be careful if the spacer between the coil and magnet is too big, it won't wibrate as powerfull as if the magnet is closer to the coil, separate them that much so it won't touching, i think i set about 0,1mm of space between.

    Amazing video. Thank you. It's a little tricky so just watch a couple times, stop and go back, take your time. I managed to fix my diamondclean, same as in video without unsoldering the wires, pushed the magnet down enough to fit and slot a bit of card between magnets and screwed back together, took card spacer out to see the gap and fixed... Thanks again for this video.

    Woah.. I was initially put off when I saw the soldering step, but after Philips wouldn't replace my toothbrush under warranty because I didn't keep the receipt from 16 months ago (does anyone seriously do that?), I went for it. So glad I didn't destroy my $200 toothbrush that still functioned, but I was able to fix it without having to unsolder the wires! The coil slipped and was up against the magnet and loosening the screws/sliding the coil down fixed the loud rattle. I can now brush my teeth without rattling my eardrums. Thank you!

    "I feel like I stole something"- that was a great line. Thank you for taking the time to explain the faults and show the best manner of disassembly (just unsolder the coil). As it turns out, you described scenario 3, which is my case. After watching you dremel the small spot welds, and explain the broken metal, I decided to do the same. If you carefully drill a tiny hole in the end cap (1-1.5MM), compressed air will pop the cap out. You must support the rubber seal at the tip of the brush while you do this. Then, release the two plastic clips inside the base and the mechanism will come out. When finished, a small bad of silicone or other glue will seal the hole when you are finished.

But it works as normal. When in charger only green light is flashing as it should. I took it apart expecting to see contacts oxidised but they are all clean and sound. No water damage at all. Just repaired mine with the loose driver caused by a drop. Easier to remove the cap than it looked. Removed the screw, added Loctite and retightened- it was good and tight so the threads were still fine. Seems great now. I would recommend replacing the bolt and nut if you don't get traction, so you don't have to rely totally on the Loctite. Thanks a lot, saved both the money and the carbon for a replacement.

    Excellent video. I have managed to open my toothbrush up following your excellent video. On mine the metal rod/ shaft that inserts into the replaceable toothbrush head has come detached from the magnetic holder. Unfortunately tightening the screw you show in your video has no effect as whilst that tightens the magnetic holder it does not tighten the metal rod that inserts into it. Have you any thoughts on what I should do. I'm not sure how the metal rod is originally installed - it isnt screwed in or held by the screw and doesnt seem to click in. Do you think it is worth using superglue to glue the metal rod into the magnetic holder?

    Ščetka se na polnilni postaji polni (zelena lučka utripa) in se ob napolnjenem stanju izklopi. Pri poskusu vklopa zobne ščetke pa le-ta odda kratko vibracijo, vklopi pa se ne.
    Je morda vzrok iztrošena baterija?

    • @TinC33
      @TinC33  2 года назад +1

      Na to sem najprej pomislil, skoraj zagotovo zna bit iztrosena baterija, poglejte po ebayu ali pa ebatt ljubljana za nadomestno, dobi se take ki ima že natočkane zaključke da se samo prispajka novo, lahko pa tudi navadno z uporabo nekaj žičke.
      Iz glave ne vem tipa baterije mislim da je liion torej dobre 3v, če na bateriji ne piše preverite po velikosti da se dobi šifro baterije, vsekakor pa ne kupovati cenene baterije ker je baterija ugolj ena razlika med 2 in 10 e ni velika razlika v delovanju pa ogromna.

Nut appeared to have some black material on it. Ground this off. Added loctite to nut and screw. Assembled. Now head does not wobble. Seems secure. We'll see how this holds up. I'm reluctant to take head apart at this point. This toothbrush has a copper wire running up along the outside of this head unlike the previous sonicare models my wife and I have owned. Try to squeeze like on 1;45 on front and back side, and same time try to pull out with tiny screwdriver, while entire brush push on the table on brush axis, that black is a bit harder to open, you will deform housing a bit for sure, but can fix befor insert back in by heat a bit deformed part and align.

    What if the wires disconnected from the main coil but stayed attached to the PCB? There's also wire coming down from the brush head but it isn't connected to anything.

      I'm not sure about what wire we talk, there are new models with somekind of preasure sensor for the head, i don't know those types, but you can see if tbe wire is broke from pcb or somewhere else.

      I had the the same issue the first time, they are more like tabs that push out on two sides. Look for them on the left and right side (top of the brush tube has the buttons and lights. They
      are plastic and just need to be gently pulled towards the center away from the sides of the cylinder. I would unseat them and pull on the plastic circular end with pliers gently and it should slide out.
