Stocks, but apart from that I actually keep everything, as I've found that a lot of the preinstalled productivity apps like Notes and Reminders are just a cut above anything I've ever experienced on Android, and it makes collaborating with friends who have iPhones easier. Anything I don't really use I keep in the app library. I admit to being a bit of a digital hoarder, but I do have the storage to support that lifestyle... On my Apple Watch I removed Cycle Tracking because I don't have a uterus. For some reason it isn't on the Watch app store though, so for some reason if I decided to reinstall it, I couldn't. I also tried removing Stocks, but for some reason it's just... not uninstallable on Apple Watch????
I think if you’re able to delete an app, it doesn’t count as bloatware. And you can delete all of these. Lots of Android phones come with useless apps that you can’t delete because they’re installed on the system itself, but Apple lets you delete everything but the very basics (Messages, Phone, etc.). Therefore imo none of these are bloatware
@@lucash1955 if it’s still there you’re not deleting it, you’re hiding it. Apple’s built-in apps get deleted, they free space, you even have to download them again from the App Store.
@@lucash1955Once you delete an app from Apple (except apps like Messages and Phone), it's entirely gone from the app library. Unlike on Android where you may only be able to disable a carrier app but it'll still stay.
Shortcuts is great! It's really useful and allows for some very interesting ideas. The only problem I have with it is that it's so hard to use being used to actual programming languages. Variables are a mess, and there's no while loop. Still good tho.
Compass is a really, really useful application to have. Its not really bloat if its not taking up any space, or using up any processing time in the background. Ive had a few situations where ive had to navigate with nothing but the compass on my iPhone. Bloatware is really only a massive issue on Windows nowadays. Tons of background processing tasks, crap installed that you never asked for, and advertisements literally built into the start menu for things like Netflix.
I feel like you could refine that list a lot more… for example does home actually need to be an independent app when most of the features are already available in iOS.. like to me some of the apps don’t really need to be apps Apple could’ve integrated it more into iOS itself.
Hey, I just wanna say that That I just have stumbled across your channel a half hour ago, And I’m binge watching all your videos, I like your sense of humour and your editing is on point 👌🏽😊
You should try a Samsung, there are millions of bloatware apps that you can't even delete. Like you can't even delete some random low quality mobile game.
Every phone, including iPhones, are packed with bloatware. Some just more than others. If you think Apple's native apps that are useless to many or even the majority of people should be considered essential because you say so or "they don't use much resources, etc... you just like bloatware.
Me personally, I use Spotify and Apple Music but I just feel like Apple Music is just much cleaner so I will use Apple Music on any device that is an iPhone for me I feel like you have never seen the clean animations in a song on iOS 17 with the lyrics it’s so satisfying
Compass is used all the time when Islamic people want to find the direction of where we pray plus many of the things you mentioned as bloatware were not because they were useful to so many other people
In my humble opinion, bloatware is software that isn't native to the OS but still installed. Things like Facebook or Disney+ being installed on Windows, e.g. All apps discussed in the video are made by Apple for Apple.
what pre-installed apps can't you live without? are they any that you instantly delete?

Music. I'm not streaming and at 99% of the time I'm not at home I will listen to music so, yeah.
music carries me since i don't have streaming services, i just [REDACTED] my music from youtube into my itunes library and sync it to my iphone
Glad I'm not the only one.@@qpol

what about carrier bloatware? i can delete it sure. but it´s all still there and counts as bloat, so does apple´s

love the style of ur videos, very refreshing in the surrounding tech scene of generic video essays, feels like a fusion of video genres. keep it up!!

As an apple hater, shortcuts really is great.
I don’t even know coding and my brain melts when I so much as glimpse at the ShortCuts app -_-
The apps pre-installed in iPhone don't feel intrusive and for the most part are useful. By the way, great video and great channel! Keep it up!!
What does "feeling intrusive" have to do with bloatware? It's just garbage that takes up resources & space.
The use of animal crossing music in this video 🤌
when rotten apple uploads, you know today’s gonna be a good day.

Nah, every computer & every phone has bloatware. If you can't get rid of it and it's not actually essential, it's bloat.
I just discovered your chanel an i love it, please don't suddenly dissapear
2:40 for Who is partially blind is very useful
I love your character persona and personality there! You deserve more subs
Personally the measure app is incredibly useful anytime I need to use a level and cannot find one. Underrated.
Mac OS has this problem too, but you cant delete them . . . ..

instagram is the biggest bloatware both for your phone and your brain
Never even thought of bloatware in the context of iOS. When it came to phones I always drew the line at carrier bloat which Apple never allowed
Nah, bloatware is still bloatware.
Can't believe the iPhone still has a compass app lol
Why wouldn’t it?

The iPhone is in fact not the only phone with no bloatware. Google does not allow any bloatware installed on their devices. Even from carriers.
Every large phone maker has bloatware. Apple, Google, Samsung, everyone.
3:12 BRO this is the most targeted I've ever felt from a youtube video before 😭

SO MUCH BLOATWARE

i really love rotten apple's vids.
Can we talk about the top right and bottom right corners of the Safari window?

The thing that I’m glad about with apple is that you can delete almost all the apps, you can even delete the iTunes Store!
Is it actually completely deleted, or is it just uninstalled down to the installer, waiting for updates again?
Wasn't the iTunes Store discontinued, though?
came from an android and anything you call bloatware as a lifelong iphone user seems like freedom to me

Nah the TV app is crazy useful! It tells you on which streaming service you can watch a show or movie! :0
But it doesn't tell you which sites to pirate on. Bloatware.

generally speaking iphones dont come with "rise of the kingdoms" and or "disney game center"
why does shortcuts say 2017 if it came in ios 13 😭
Shortcuts became a stock app with iOS13, but was acquired by Apple back in 2017. should’ve been more clear about that lol my bad
Music and podcast are fundamental
No.
I don't think an app is if doesn't make them money like compass, calculator, etc.
Bloatware doesn't directly relate to money, it just usually does.
The iTunes app literally doesn’t do anything in most of the world. It absolutely shouldn’t be preinstalled.
