    pretty good video but id recommend when the fuel rail is all hooked up and bolted down you PRIME the fuel line BEFORE you put the upper intake back on ...when you see a leak is much easier to fix than take it all back apart again.. ask me how i know ....

      Boy aint that the truth, i have 2 of these cars and i have learned my lesson when it comes to that,lol,or any car for that matter,before you put it all back together if there is something you can test before buttoning all up test it!!!
      I am putting a new engine in my 91 and last Saturday i put the new water pump in,instead of filling it up with coolant to check everything i just put everything back on (A/C bracket, pulley, all bolts etc),sure enough, the new water pump i bought, some idiot put the wrong gasket in the box and me not paying attention just put it on and went about my business,first gallon of coolant, drip drip drip,off comes everything again arggg!! ha ha ha

    Almost had a heart attack when I saw that fall in. Thanks for the vid. My lower intake manifold is leaking coolent into my cylinder and I haven’t been able to find much on the entire process. This gives me a little better idea what I’ll be working with. I have an 89 town car and everything seems to be backwards compared to a mustang and there’s not much info out there.

    Man how many miles does this beauty have?100? looks pristine! i have 2 87 to 93 Mustangs and what makes videos like yours invaluable is for a pattern of how things were originally before they were messed with back in the day,you have no idea how much this helps,ive had my 91 since new and i was 21 back then, of course I'm guilty as hell that i messed up a lot of things on my car only to in the recent years fixing everything and getting it all back where it belongs, its all part of getting older and wiser and wanting to fix things as original as possible.
    I mean like where cables go and things of that nature, proper hardware etc,i would never go to the original alternator,a rock has more usefulness than that thing or the starter, the starters until 92 where worthless, ministarters are some of the best mods out there.
    Just wanted to add and this might help someone,on the fuel rail around where the alternator is there is a bracket,this bracket has 2 little spaces where the fuel rails snap in, this bracket is connected to the head by a single nut on one of the head bolts,if you remove this nut thereby loosening the bracket your fuel rail will move just about anywhere you want it making pulling the injector a breeze,when you are pulling the rail on your video and it shows that resistance that is the rail bolted down on that corner not wanting to move,this also works great if you are removing the engine,a lot of people think you have to have those fancy tools tools to remove your rail,if you remove the nut you can just slide your rail out of the way once you pull it from the intake, works great!!

    Nice video. How did you figured out which fuel injector was the defective one?

    • @mikeshorsepowergarage7577
      @mikeshorsepowergarage7577  2 года назад +6

      By measuring the cylinder temperature. Fuel cools down the cylinders, not enough fuel and the cylinder will run hotter. The cylinder with the bad injector ran about 200 degrees hotter. Thanks for Watching!

    Hey Mike, I have found a Fox Body close to where I live that has been setting at the Owners Mom’s house for more than eight years, and owners Mom told me she had it towed to her house. I have wanted a Fox Body since I was in HS when this car was brand new at the dealership. I wanted to request your opinion on what you would offer. I offered her $400.00 a year ago, she didn’t laugh at the offer, but she might as well have. 125,000 miles. 1992 GT original engine, bad rear-end. 5-speed.

      I would say $1500 if the body is good and up to $2000 if the interior is in great shape. I've seen running fox body's that look like shit go for around $6000.

      The interior is not good, it’s okay at best. The exterior ground effects will have to be replaced. Engine work will have to be performed to get it running. Thank you sir for your reply. I have reached out to others on RUclips, but you are the first to answer. Thank You!

      I estimated around $4,000.00 investment to get it on the highway “safely.” That’s without paint, and maybe just a pressure washer to the seats and carpet.

      I did not give you correct mileage, estimated 221,000 miles.

      @@thomasblume4125 That sounds about right. As long as the engine runs. It's gonna need a tune up, probably brakes, coolant hoses, new fuilds, maybe some suspension bushings? And definitely new shocks.
