Hello, as I said in the video, please use this as a template and add in your essential costs or take out any costs that are non-essential to you. Please remember that everyone’s circumstances are different. Personally my car is essential. I can’t get to my main job without a car as I work shifts, and there is no reliable public transport at unsocial hours. This job pays so well, however, that the benefits of working there outweigh the costs. Again, the gym is something that I personally consider to be essential for my mental and physical health, but if you don’t feel this way then you are not obligated to buy a gym membership. Whether you plan on attending UEA or not, I wish you all the best 😊
@@BethEliseRose All the essentials make the difference I agree. The most important aspect, I guess is to preserve, sustain and even possibly enhance one’s overall mental health and spiritual well being whatever the cost . I have finished my studies long time ago, Mersi . Hope you have good studies at your University. But it was interesting to keep up with the infamous UK’s cost of living crisis situation currently
@@teodorachasse1121 You’re exactly right. I attend the gym around 4 times a week meaning that each session costs me c. 90p only. I personally feel this is worth the benefit the gym has to my health and I am willing to work more to pay for it. All the best 😊
Hi, so our internet and water is included in our rent 😊 this isn’t totally uncommon but not all landlords will include these things so it’s worth checking before signing any contracts
@@kouzikfp2075 hi, so there are a number of sites you can look on including rightmove, uni homes and homes for students. However, if you are already a UEA student then you will have access to a site called home run which is a Uea operated site that lists trusted landlords. This is how I found our house (shown in the video)
Hi there, this is really difficult to answer as everyone’s masters course will be a different price as will other costs such as accommodation. I’d advise that you use my outgoings as a guide, add on 10% to account for inflation, and compare them to how much you’re guaranteed to bring in (probably in the form of a student loan and your scholarship). You’ll then be able to see whether your income will cover your living costs and tuition or whether you will need to earn any extra money through working or looking into additional scholarships.
@@BethEliseRose thank you so much. The admissions department has been helpful as well. It is still 50/50 if I will be able to join the uni. But still happy to watch the vlogs!! Thank you for responding ❤️
Hi, there are lots of job opportunities through the university itself. Students can get jobs working in the shop, bar, one of the food outlets, as a student worker etc. There are also a range of paid internships which students can do 😊 when you get to UEA you will be able to log into career central where you can then see al of the available roles
Hi there, there is family accommodation but I’ve just checked the website and it’s already full for the next academic year. More details are here as well as details about how to find private rentals: www.uea.ac.uk/uea-life/accommodation/family-accommodation/on-campus-accommodation-for-families
Hi there, no I’m afraid the gym isn’t free. There are different membership options, but off-peak is probably the cheapest which was £150 for the year last year. No societies are free, but many start from only £5 for the year. Sports clubs on the other hand will be more - everyone has to buy a sports association membership for roughly £50 and then you have to pay your club membership fees on top of that :)
where do you find accommodation, like yours, beyond the options offered by the University portal? I am an international student. Please kindly let me know more. Thanks
Hi there, I have a whole video dedicated to finding off-campus housing which should answer everything you need to know. The video is a bit old but everything still stands! 😊
Thank you for this! xxx
No problem at all! Thank you for commenting x
I think the gym and car are extras you can cut and save on

Out of interest, where do you put internet costs? Given that you have about 23 for tech and internet is usually around 20 per month.
