Gentlemen, I stumbled across your web site. I was very impressed. I flew AirCore back in the early 90's. As a tool and Die maker it was very popular with my coworkers and myself. I remember the old "ladder frame" and the Square design. Keep up the great work. Jim in Wisconsin
Nice of FliteTest to rewive Aircore. Was planing to start the Rc flying hobby this summer and was planing on buying AirCore after i have moved away form the first trainer. thanks for the rewive!
Hey guys. Thanks for the review. I wasn't sure about this setup. Still nor sold on it. The principles sound, just not happy with the way the servos.link up. But again I really appreciate you taking the time to do this. It really helps. Oh and just for the record park zone got a sell on the ka8 from me because of your review. So big thumbs up and keep up the reviews. They do help.
Ever since I received my first Tower Hobby magazine, I have been interested in the AirCore line, because of the power core. So far, RC-wise, I'm into wheels and thought this would be a good intro to the world of flight. Holding me back on the AirCore was wondering about connecting the power core to all the servos. I figured it would be a cussin' job, as Grampers would've said. Your video on the magnet connectors changed my mind. Thx Joshs' for the demo.
This channel has helped me love RC flying even more, and it's helped out quite a bit which looking at possible kits me and my dad can build together, or for me when i have the time XD
Probably already been said, but it's a shame the power module doesn't allow for some 'down thrust' adjustment! I'm sure it'd be a great little trainer with the right thrust line for the model. FWIW - I cut my flying teeth courtesy of my dad on indoor free flight models! Many cheers on the videos guys and awesome work getting new people into the hobby!!! Very best regards, Craig P from OZ
I know this video is a few years old and that the aircore's are discontinued, but I haven't flown mine yet as I'm still learning on realflight! Do you think, if possible, you could get your hands on a flyzone aircore spitfire or FW 190?
So I ordered an Aircore setup after debating between the ParkZone AS3X P-51 Mustang and Aircore. I wanted AS3X, but decided on Aircore because of the 2S battery and brushless motor. Plus, I ordered 2 airframes, a P-51 and a A6M Zero. Package is not here yet, so we'll shall see.
Eh I prefer my planes to not be tossed around by wind. It might be fun with a warbird but not with a heavily aerobatic plane. Try flying the edge 540QQ 280 in wind
I am pretty new to the rc hobby and I bought this plane. The only other plane that I have had is the champ. I also bought the Real Flight 7 simulator. I Flew this plane for about 10 hours on the simulator before I flew for real. It flies great! I would not recommend it for beginners without at least flying it on the simulator like I did. I have had 2 crashes so far but was able to hot glue my plane back together pretty easily. I have a Spectrum DX6i with the Any Link converter. If anyone has questions please let me know and I will answer them to the best of my ability.
I live in the uk is there any way of buying this plane from the internet? I tried the website but when I put in my post code It didn't come up with any thing
I noticed that when flying fpv Ive yet to see an attitude indicator on screen, is there a reason for this because i think that would help alot especially when your camera is mounted inside the cockpit. Plus its added realism..
You guys should start reviewing more middle of the road planes. As opposed to Hobbyking or one of the bigger brands, review a smaller brand like Airfield or ArtTech. With a bigger brand you're more or less guaranteed a good flying performance. Not everyone want to go out and drop $300-$400 on a plane so why not show some of the great planes from lesser brands? Just a thought
By the way I once bought this Nine Eagles 4Ch P-51 Thunderbolt I think and it flew so stable and was just perfect to fly, it was my first 4ch and I was surprised how easy it is to do stunts and all that, I seriously did 3D with it without the fear of breaking it since it was so easy and also it was a cheap plane! Best RC bought ever for me.
+pparker768 +HEATRACER24 1 year ago Tip stalling is when the plane stalls (which is when the plane slows down to where there is not enough air moving over the wing) and a wingtip drops down. If you fly r/c, take your plane up about 3 mistakes high, level it out into the wind, drop the throttle to 0 and pull full back on the stick(up elevator) and it will either drop the nose or drop a wingtip.
Nice vid, no snow YEAH!!! And plz bring out a album on iTunes with all the flitetest Theme songs. I love them. Oh, it would be Nice if you could make the multirotor biginner series with David and chad
Question: just bought a plane and the clevis that came with the kit won't fit the push rods, and the push rods won't fit the servo arm's. What tool will I need to open the holes on the servo arm's and clevis so the push rod can be attached. Also is it normal for them not to fit?
rc army I used a scissor tip to dig hole out of servo arm's until one snapped. So I thought best ask for best method. As for the push rod it won't fit the clevis which in turn fits the control horn. Your ment to screw it on for the correct distance but again the hole is to small and deep to dig it out. If it's not normal I will ask for shop to replace with a compatible set.
Peter Ray Thanks, I don't want to spend on a drill just for slight touch ups only. I might try your method if I find a screw small enough and it holds in pliers. 2mm push rod into 1mm clevis hole.
micro deans is pretty universal guys....i use micro deans for all my small planes and land vehicles....and the regular ultra deans for everything else...

go to there website flitetest.com there is a link that says podcast I cant remember which one sorry but I am sure they talk about it in one off them and they all say they did not like it that much.
I always liked the old Aircore, fold em up, plastic style airplanes. I used to do the powerpod but in the end it was lighter just to mount the servos straight to the fuselage and then remove them when they wore out, course that was in combat with SPAD Daggars n Darts n such, but foldy up airplanes made from cheap (free campaign and gas station signage) yea, just my style. I like the look of the Mustang. A little dis-appointed you didn't put that 'trainer' in a jig and see where the CG was. It's almost as if they didn't underprop it enough and had way too much power for the airfoil. You overpower an oldtimer and that thing will loop around like that too, if you don't have it trimmed for a power on spiral. spadtothebone.net
I really cant understand why some makers sell planes tail heavy from factory, specially trainers.. i have seen this so many times..planes so tail heavy that they are hard to fly for veterans ... let alone new pilots..
And whada they do? They STOP MAKIN' 'EM!! Power cores are worth their weight in gold for us regular folks who happen to enjoy these rigs...got airframes out the kazootie, but no power cores...
hey guys could you do me a massive favor and do a motorised cable cam build with pan/tilt for a go pro, i know its not an aircraft but its RC, its with motors, servos, receivers and things, people please like this comment so they see and maybe have a go, it would help me alot, cheers guys :)!

I was w8ing so long for next movie ^^ GJ
Btw did you think about stream on internet while flying ?

"With about half an hour of jiggling." I LOL'ed.

you should try the cox series (skyranger, skycruser, and extra300)
This channel has helped me love RC flying even more, and it's helped out quite a bit which looking at possible kits me and my dad can build together, or for me when i have the time XD
why dont you just get a flitetest kit ;)
Well, i'm trying to save up money right now XD no money, no kit!
very true mate well i hope you get flying soon
FliteTest how much is all that? the miss america, the power core, battery and charger and the cheapo transmitter you showed earlier in the vid?
Little Josh has come a long way. I remember not to long ago when he was scared to do the buddy box.
Probably already been said, but it's a shame the power module doesn't allow for some 'down thrust' adjustment! I'm sure it'd be a great little trainer with the right thrust line for the model.

videos from flite test never show in my sub feed and i dont know why. im missing loads :( im selecting uploads only. any ideas?
I know this video is a few years old and that the aircore's are discontinued, but I haven't flown mine yet as I'm still learning on realflight! Do you think, if possible, you could get your hands on a flyzone aircore spitfire or FW 190?
US Aircore 40 was my first plane. I still have 5 different US Aircore kits unbuilt. Classics!
Enjoyed the video. I just got the Miss America P-51 and the Principle.
See every gamer has a person that does a review on a new game well i rely on FliteTest to review these new products
I kept waiting for something on the Tx. That Tactic controller is a fantastic deal! $150 for 6 channels and 20 model memory. Plus Rx's are $20.
great video Joshes.. :D
Great review, Guys!!! My Principle crashed a few weeks ago, so I can't try the quarter thing. But the P-51 is AWESOME!!!
Is the "miss America" in your opinion a reasonable plane for indoor flying, high school gym, for an average flyer? How does it fly at slower speeds?
Nice ep guys as always :) Looking forward to the Vige- *COFF* umm, FT Edf Jet thing I don't know the name of.. ;)
Question: Why didn't you guys put the servos in the power pod when conceiving the swapable series?
Thank you so much for demoing this plane. I was thinking of getting the trainer. But not now. Love the idea though.
EFlite has a number of brushless, lipo umx planes with as3x. The as3x makes a huge difference in micro planes.
gtdrummerdude I've been flying both types by now. In the small planes, AS3X does help a lot. But it can also be fun flying a raw small plane. :)
Eh I prefer my planes to not be tossed around by wind. It might be fun with a warbird but not with a heavily aerobatic plane. Try flying the edge 540QQ 280 in wind

As always a brilliant episode guys and the Mustang I have to have one of those =D
Kind regards

Josh & Josh ; Nice Review & Flying & give Credit to Alex for the Quarter ! Thanks for the Video !
you should test that can reduce drag
with rough surface on planes like sand paper or like golf ball effect like on mithbuster?
I live in the uk is there any way of buying this plane from the internet?
I tried the website but when I put in my post code It didn't come up with any thing
My nephew has an Estes Proto X SLT. Will that transmitter work with this set up?
I noticed that when flying fpv Ive yet to see an attitude indicator on screen, is there a reason for this because i think that would help alot especially when your camera is mounted inside the cockpit. Plus its added realism..
great review. I was wondering about these planes. Thanks for an honest review.
Does David leave in March this year. What are his plans after Flite test?
sweet dudes you never fail to impress
you should do a review on the mini champ RTF
What's the name of those servos? I have an old heli max reciver and transmitter but I can't find the servos to go with it.
You guys should start reviewing more middle of the road planes. As opposed to Hobbyking or one of the bigger brands, review a smaller brand like Airfield or ArtTech. thank you i have been asking for this for awhile now
Awesome video guys! Shame about the nearby traffic noise :-(
It lands with grace.
Great Idea! When I first saw these planes on RealFlight7, I had no idea what "Aircore" meant... Now, this might sell me one
The Thunderbolt is P-47, not P-51, that's the Mustang.
darkiee69 Yeah sorry I was thinking so much on what number it was, I thought it started with a 5 so I ended up saying ''P-51 I think'' lol.
How much does one of these set you back? And would I be able to use my Spektrum DX5e with it?
Yes it would be great to be able to use my DX5e with it... also, I think the website is down today...
How much would a miss america and a power core be? i already have a tactic transmitter
Hats off to the magnet idea! genius!!
can that be used for a guillows kit?
Tip stall ? What's the difference between this and a stall ?
+pparker768
+HEATRACER24 1 year ago
Tip stalling is when the plane stalls (which is when the plane slows down to where there is not enough air moving over the wing) and a wingtip drops down. I had a swap-able aircore 40 I learned to fly on! (still have it!!)
have yall tryed the Bf-109 swap?
Nice vid, no snow YEAH!!!
And plz bring out a album on iTunes with all the flitetest Theme songs. I love them. Oh, it would be Nice if you could make the multirotor biginner series with David and chad
You would think that the product engineers at Flyzone would have tested and worked out all the problems before releasing the plane, right?
You should try ultra micro p51 mustang from hobby zone
Question: just bought a plane and the clevis that came with the kit won't fit the push rods, and the push rods won't fit the servo arm's. What tool will I need to open the holes on the servo arm's and clevis so the push rod can be attached.
Also is it normal for them not to fit?
for the servo arm just a hand drill or knife will do it and if your pushrods dont fit then you shall need to get different ones
rc army I used a scissor tip to dig hole out of servo arm's until one snapped.
So I thought best ask for best method. As for the push rod it won't fit the clevis which in turn fits the control horn. Your ment to screw it on for the correct distance but again the hole is to small and deep to dig it out. If it's not normal I will ask for shop to replace with a compatible set.
i usually heat up a tiny nail on the stove until it glows red and then melt the hole bigger with it
Peter Ray Thanks, I don't want to spend on a drill just for slight touch ups only. I might try your method if I find a screw small enough and it holds in pliers.
2mm push rod into 1mm clevis hole.
micro deans is pretty universal guys....i use micro deans for all my small planes and land vehicles....and the regular ultra deans for everything else...
Micro dean connectors are very popular with rc cars.
I have flown both and the Flyzone planes fly better outside, the Parkzone micro's do better inside with no wind.
Are they Spectrum?
Only the Aurora 9X? Not the Aurora 9?
I think the reason it looped when it was in high throttle was because the wings are undercambered.
What is tip stalling?
Tip stalling is when the plane stalls (which is when the plane slows down to where there is not enough air moving over the wing) and a wingtip drops down. can you guys review the storm drone 4 by helipal
Keep it up guys!!!
Isn't the propeller ejection system patented by Nine Eagles? How can they use their design? Well I'm not an expert...
Mark D Oh alright
where are you located at I NEED HELP
make a video of the recording crew trying to fly rc
"we are the josh's" loving it :)
I remember those aircore planes, I always wanted one! Kinda like plastic cardboard
I saw a FT viggen scratch build in the back!
Is there a mig 15 rc plane
Can you use DX6i with those?
I'm assuming yes because in the video it josh said you could use any radio.
Do a review of the phantom vision 2!
they said on there podcast they dont like it that much.
rc army a link to the pod cast?
go to there website flitetest.com there is a link that says podcast I cant remember which one sorry but I am sure they talk about it in one off them and they all say they did not like it that much.
Is there a dg 1001 Review Comic??.)

Why won't they go over the ocean
I checked their site and they had beautifull airframes, ... But not in europe
where can i get one now these days
Diego Ortiz and sim
Also referred to collectively as "The Josh"... ;-)
Josh can fly now!
First! Also thanks guys for reviewing these, have been thinking of getting them for awhile now. As always great work!
I really cant understand why some makers sell planes tail heavy from factory, specially trainers.. i have seen this so many times..planes so tail heavy that they are hard to fly for veterans ... let alone new pilots..
i have the aircore 40- the OG of bein able to pull the soul out of the plane

Bixler had something bad to say about a plane
