I hunted last year with this same exact rifle and cartridge during the Illinois deer season.
I must say, I was very impressed with the performance of the Barnes 110gr. TAC TX bullets. I reloaded a lot of different bullets and they all shot well, which made choosing that much harder. In the end, I’ve always had excellent performance from Barnes bullets and they did not disappoint me.
This little rifle really packs a punch! Good luck to you on your next deer hunt.

Personally used 125gr SST on deer last season. Double lung shot, ran 30 yards. Works good and is a compact package.
Neat little set-up 😊
I am considering one these for my grandkids.. probably the 350 Legend though! Possibly the 243 Winchester.. but will consider the 300 Black Out
The 1x4x24 is about perfect for deer hunting in the woods!
I have three of them on my deer rifles
1) Bushnell Sport View ( 1.5 x 4 )
2) Bushnell Elite ( 1x 4 )
3) Bushnell Prime ( 1x4x32 )
Which is my favorite of the three.. the Prime!
Bushnell makes a really nice 1/2 moa red dot duplex 3x9x40.. it's a Prime as well!
I have that on my 7mm-08 ❤
I built a 45LC lever action about 2 years ago, that I run a suppressor on. As I'm sure you know, most 45LC is naturally subsonic. I wanted a deer rifle, and hog rifle. So I wanted something that could shoot 320 grain bullets at 1,000 fps while being super quiet, yet hitting a big hog like a sledgehammer. I use 225 grain soft points moving at 1,000 fps for whitetail. It absolutely devastates both of them out to 150 yards easily, but most of my shots are usually around 50 yards. It's one of my favorite hunting rifles.
I bought one of these for my daughter‘s deer gun. At 50 yards with 220 grand open to match all three shots were touching each other. Then I shot my 125SST‘s and they were exactly 2 inches high at 50 yards and 2 inches high at 100.
I haven’t really messed with subs on this one yet.
@@thegundungeon I’m using them for the trash pandas that get on the bird feeder. With a can, a BB gun is loader. It’s fun to
I've taken a few deer with the 125 tnt without issue, but I also had clear unobstructed shots/ no brush.
I got one in a 300. It's hard to open. Got to smack the trigger guard with the rubber mallet to get it to open.
@@Hollywood41642 hmmm if it doesn’t break in smooth soon I’d send it back. That wasn’t ever an issue with this one
Did you see how many yards you were shooting at? Sorry if I missed it

@@thegundungeon thx
Enjoy the video been seriously thinking about that same rifle combination
It’s one of those setups that just makes ya happy when you pick it up lol
Love the range chicken. Not to be confused with the balistic chicken 😆
lol 😂 they do like to come check out what I’m doing when I’m on the range. Don’t know how close they are to being a video lol
Need to try maker's
I would choose whichever is the cheapest. Both will get the job done.
Barnes are definitely not the cheapest lol
It's a 300 blackout. Where's the subsonic ammo test?
@@tomhall4266 one thing at a time my friend lol
I'd go with the SST's myself.
I did lol
I'd pick the 125 sst.
I been shooting the AAC Saber 125s and they are really accurate and $0.65 ea also most people are in agreement that those bullets are sst.
That’s what I went with. Got a good load worked up, video coming soon
Without knowing if its a varmit bullet or big game bullet I'd really like to watch some gel or meat target testing before I try to take a deer with those aac sabers. I've found some 556 and 300 blk short barrel tests but no rifle length 300 tests.
I’m gonna say the 125gr sst’s!
You already knew lol 😂
