When my NC2 PRHT was written off, I salvaged the 1 lb Raceseng shift knob and will install it on my ND2 RF. For those complaining how hot it will get, the temp in Toronto was 114F in the sun last week. Just put a ball cap over top of the shifter when you park the car on a hot day.
You should get a commission for every Raceseng shift knob you help sell. I bout and installed the same one based on your video. Love it, and thanks for the content!
Hi, you mention that you bought the boot collar as well. I'm curious about that option, but according to the boot collar fitment chart on their website it says that it's not compatible with NDs. Can I ask which one you got and if you actually tried installing it at all?
Great video Chad. You will enjoy this shift knob. Since I had my Racesend customize version, the look and feel and fun have been augmented. So small thing but make a lot of impact on my fun to drive the car. yes a bit expensive but I garanty you will forget about this detail after 5 minutes driving your car! Racesend makes great quality products and on time shipment.
I've tried so many different knobs including some Racesengs, and I always end up going back to oem! FYI I use rubber washers from garden hoses in-between the knob and shift boot to eliminate the gap.
@@TheLemonFactor like you said it's actually a hefty knob for oem, and it resists extreme hot and cold weather. So in perfect weather I might change back and forth.
Good choice.... I think should be somethings in gray and not so evident, (I didn't like strange colors and dimensions)... I installed on my ND red the "TOMMYKAIRA HEBI BEBI SHIFT KNOB" quite expensive but I like it.... Thanks for video
How does the Raceseng compare to the Voodoo that inspired the swap? Thanks for your channel! You’re saving me time and money figuring these things out. And the stripes are really growing on me.
I did not conduct a direct comparison, but the Raceseng looks nicer, feels heavier and is a little taller aiding more so using momentum to help with shifting. However, the Voodoo felt a little bigger, fitting my hand better. Thank you for the watch and support. 👍. Uhoh, if you’re beginning to like the stripes you might not like the next video 😕
I’d have to say the steering wheel is still my favorite! The shift knob is great but I didn’t have a problem with the OEM until I drove another Miata with an upgraded shift knob, whereas I disliked the OEM steering wheel from the very first day.
@@TheLemonFactor I’m certainly not a fan of the ND steering wheel either. Way too thin. Your steering wheel would look even better with the silver inserts swapped out. Just my opinion.
I’m sure it would, but mine is garage kept and I don’t park it outside with the top down. I’ll also keep the pouch the shift knob came in, in the car and slide it over the top if I think I’m in a situation where it might get too hot.
@@TheLemonFactor Same here. Keep the car under cover and it's never been an issue. I do wonder how it would go in super cold environments but that's a problem i'm unlikely to have to deal with.
I have the Raceseng Stratos with perforated leather and since I have no problem to handle the shifter even if I leave my car parked hours under direct sun. I have much more skin burning comfort problem with the fake leather central lid which I will replace next week by alcantra trim.
@@TheLemonFactor I will send you the pictures next week. I should have purchase all Alcantra options when I bought my car. When you asked me the other day if I would have done something differently... here is my expensive biggest mistake!
I've got a wife approved mx5 and man I wish there were aftermarket knobs made for the automatic... I've been searching on and off and I never find anything, though I found options for my 16' Mazda3 Hatch. Oh well 😆
Voodoo “Magnum” pearl. Not hot, not cold; just perfect! R.I.P. Voodoo Bob.

Lol. Wouldn’t that be nice 🤔. I’m glad you liked the video, thanks for the positive comment. I hope you enjoy your new Raceseng shift knob 👍

Did you get an answer for this??

I’m really enjoying the Raceseng Contour shift knob - the added weight really does help in shifting into the gears. The larger width helps too b
👍Stellar. Who knew all these existed? That shifter looks great. 👍👍😎🇺🇸
It’s like a kid in a candy store - it was difficult picking just one 🤤

That’s an interesting idea for filling the gap 👍. How come you’ve gone through so many shift knobs?
@@TheLemonFactor like you said it's actually a hefty knob for oem, and it resists extreme hot and cold weather. So in perfect weather I might change back and forth.
Have u tried likewise?
Thankfully mine is garage kept as I’m sure the metal would get hot in the sun.
Good looking shifter. Do you find it gets hot to the touch at all when you get in after a day in the sun?
I did not, but then again my Miata was garaged. 😁

👍. There’s plenty to select from - something to suit different styles and budgets.
No... Welcome YOU BACK .. I miss your videos sir.. #drivingmatters
👍😁
I just want one like the stock one, but larger and heavier than the ping pong ball one Mazda slaps on there.
I did see some available that do look very similar to the OEM Miata shift knob. 👍
Love my Nardi wooden shift knob, original one is really heavy
Very classy and retro looking 👍

U said the steering wheel mod was your favorite thus far. So how would the new shift ball rate?

I had a Voodoo knob on my NA and that thing got HOT. I'm curious to know if your new one will get hot or not because of that insert.

I’d love to see the center arm rest area in alcantara 😁👍

Looking forward to seeing the pics. Good luck with the install 👍
Love that hoodie where did you get it
Thank you! Flyin Miata 👍. Every month or so they release a new shirt design 😁
No likewise? U should try it man
Thanks for the recommendation 👍

I have found some aftermarket shift knobs for the auto transmission, but not a lot. Hopefully you’ll be able to find something. 🤷♂️
@@TheLemonFactor If you have any links or websites to them could you please share on your reply?
That would be so appreciated!!
Nope Can't use it.. I live down here in Florida.. That will Burn the hell out of my Hand
There are lots of other options that are made of various materials that won’t conduct heat like the metal ones will 👍
