Different cultures eat different things. That being said, I see your channel as the more Italian with a twist. Hopefully you continue with this path. Things we all know and can replicate at home.
I'm a homebrewer, cheese, fermented food etc but really love these DYIs also! They may not get the views (YT algorithm?) but they are some of my favorites.
Something really delicious there is the chicken satay with peanut sauce. May be you try and get the most authentic recipe for the peanut sauce and make a video on it. Enjoy your stay in Indonesia.
I like your channel very much and use a variation of your bacon recipe and apple wine recipe all the time. In America, so many foods like cured meat and beverages are thought of as products one typically buys rather than something one can easily make. Culinary tradition seems to have fallen by the wayside because people think it's a large project or a hassle to make a batch of wine, but your videos show how simple it is, and the end result is undoubtedly healthier than what's on the shelf. I live in an area with lots of apple orchards and unpreserved apple cider can be had inexpensively. I use a gallon of cider, a bottle of honey, and some high-alcohol yeast to make an 18% apple mead. I just wash the glass jug I use for fermentation as normal and skip the sterilization. I've not had a single bad batch out of several dozen.
Since you're in sulawesi, as a coffee lover myself i'd like to suggest you to try toraja coffee. If possible try to find specialty coffee shop in there. The arabica is really delicious.
Instead of pushing knife through the plastic surface, you can heat a screwdriver and push through the surface. A small hole is made and then you can enlarge it with ease. Then proceed as you want to.😊
He doesn't understand the need to practice the use of a knife for defense... Some people don't understand the high risk of human society after pandemics. Download every literature you can find on the net about survival while you can. It is of much help. We live risky days.
you can do that, but probably not a good idea with something that is supposed to be used for food and stuff. it's already bad enough he's using plastic, heated plastic is considerably worse for you
Hope you come soon here in Philippines, Belgian/Italian mix here. For my fermenter (alcolic) I use the big pot of proteins for the gym and then use cheap airlock from shopee (they have this online shop also in Indonesia). also I melt the plastic with a soldering Iron and old iron tip then I sand with 120. For the Kimchi same process but with a Lock&Lock Large Capacity Crisper Oversized Plastic. for the carboy, I use plastic water gallon :)
Hi from Bali! You chose a very interesting place. What is local people attitude towards you? I've been living in Indonesia for over a year now miss fall and winter so much.
Love that Sulawesi Coffee bean. Roast dark with lots of chocolate…..at least in the 00’s. Seems to have changed with climate or a change in plots or how they wet process. Good to see you again! From 6000ft on the continental divide at 46 degrees latitude!
damn ... in indonesia??? im indonesian but live in java tho... Indonesia has alot of cultures even me i cant eat those animal but it is what it is its their customs... and the culinary are unique for each region its hard to find alcohol beverages here in java but in manado maybe its easier... btw i use ballon to do some fermentation... you should try: bubur manado, ikan kuah asam, and alot of fish product (as an indonesian i havent tried them yet maybe you can review it) welcome i hope you can enjoy your visit ~!!
I would definitely like to visit that particular food market with you. These items you mentioned have long been censored from our minds, and it is high time we come to normalize what is outside our experiences. The world is knocking at our door and we should let it in.
Cool to see you so close to where I live (Western Australia), maybe we will see you here one day! As for recipes, I would love to see you brew some wine or other alcohol or ake some kind of dessert recipes with native Indonesian fruits - e.g. Rambutan, Longan, Soursop, Starfruit, Durian, Papaya, etc. Keep up the excellent content, and I hope you enjoy Indonesia!
Also I would love to see the local culture via the market - different cultures eat different things, thats a part of life. So if you can help share the cultures you experience via the internet for the rest of us, we can visit with you in spirit through the internet :D
Hello, I just want to let you know I did the green olives in oil and it worked ! They’re delicious, I also did the limoncello and I’m making a lot of wine. I live in Montreal but my family’s origine are friulano.
I need a advice. I made some Pineapple wine and I separated first two bottles after 10 days and other two after 25 days. last two bottles taste like contains acid and taste more bitter. what has happened to last two bottles. not suitable for drink. ? thx

Excellent, well done, a very useful video. I want to tell you, I have just made whiskey (YOUR way) and it is great! THANK YOU. You are in Sulawesi. I know Bali very well, but they are Hindus not Muslims. ALL Balinese food is great and I encourage you to see if you can find / try / cook it. The absolute No.1 is Balinese Slow Roasted Pig!!! Also, on one visit to Bali, I had food prepared in the street by NON-Balinese Indonesians. These were gigantic kebabs . . . absolutely fantastic . . . so if I were in Sulawesi, I would look out for those. Merry Christmas Andrea! No cats or dogs on the menu, please.
Hello Andrea, been watching you since 2020! Please don't post butchered animals like cats and dogs, I got used to watch your channel to see Italian recipes. I don't mind new recipes from other countries that involve similar ingredients like cow meat/chicken/fish. I hope you continue like that, but the choice is yours!
