Seth really did break the mold for a late night show. Also, Corrections is the best segment/set of running gags in comedy shows.
Jackal-approved comment.
NEEEEEDDDDD... MORRRREEEEE... CORRECTIONS
@@TheDylls omg YES. Need it like a bad tasty drug.
I think Cohan was the one to break it, but Seth continued to evolve it.
Late Night is the only talk show I watch since Conan left. I’ve been really impressed with Seth and his team leaning into the weirdness more and not rely solely on political commentary. Hoping the WGA/SAG unions are paid what they’re worth soon enough so the show can come back.
He’s like the best combo of Conan and Jon Stewart.
Totally agree. Even miss his shows from during the pandemic where it was quiet and just Amber laughing in the background. He really got me through that thing.
Seth is one of the only people I trust for political news

Please tell me you love Conan's podcast. It's glorious!
Corrections is what I miss the most with the writers being on strike. Kick some executive butt and get the fair compensation you deserve, then COME BACK and do more!
Couldn’t agree more, I’ve missed Corrections more than any show. It was such a nice way for him to connect with us, and I appreciated that he put in so much effort to see us and reciprocate the love in the only language we understand- snarky remarks overflowing with sarcasm.
Corrections is amazing. It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to entertainment. We the jackals are so proud to be part of it.
🐾❤
🐺 👍 (ok it's a wolf, no jackal icon)
Seth called out "my people" to the jackals in the audience and it made me so happy! What a treat to have Mike, who's a friend of Seth and a fan of the show, interview our Seth. I had been waiting for someone to publicly praise his interviews. He's the only one who has a warm and real conversation and you can always see the guests end up delighted.
Seth, I miss your show so much. Thank you for supporting the writers who are on strike.❤❤❤❤from Canada 🇨🇦
Simply for an INTERESTING Way of obtaing N E W S....😅
Thanks for helping with my Seth fix here, I've really been missing him. He kept me sane during the pandemic and during the 4 yrs. of you know what.
Corrections, interviews, day drinking, the jokes he can’t tell, and pretty much EVERYTHING Seth does is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.
I miss Seth so much :(
One of the proudest moments of my life was Seth referencing one of my Corrections comments. Goosebumps just thinking about it again.
Omg, what was the comment? 😁
@@viktoriagrath2375 It was in an animal flubs episode and had to do with the "difference" between meat cows and dairy cows. Good times!
As a Jackal, I am *SO* disappointed to not have been able to go see John Oliver's performance together with Seth Meyers in NYC. By the time I found out about the show, most tickets were sold out. It would've been a dream to see the two of them on stage in NY.
Whaaaat??? What show did they do together? Was it filmed?
@@marikokelchen John Oliver is on tour doing standup shows. I think he just started this past weekend. John performed at the Beacon Theatre NYC August 17, 18, and 19th, *with* Seth Meyers! I nearly went by myself on Thursday because there were only single seats left by the time I found out about the shows. Then John Oliver continues his tour on his own in Philly, Boston, Seattle… I can’t make it to Boston because I’ll be bringing my son to college then. It would be awesome if one of the shows was filmed. Just saw a NYT article that said it was 50 minutes of each if them plus a Q&A after.
Thank you! I didn't know that. Wish your son a lot of fun (and education) in college
@lynnhettrick7588 it was awesome. The Q and A was very long. They didn't each do 50-- Seth was more around 40 ish and they had an opening at.
@@heather54101 any highlights from the q&a? I bet it was an amazing show!
I went from Craig Ferguson to Seth. Best way to see how late night is done right
amen
Truly
To the Jackals who would like to know, he starts talking about Corrections on 34:05
Thank you for your service 🐾
@@humanpersonne are you a "humanperson", like "def. not a jackal"? :D
54:32 OMG, famous Jackal in the house...Trevor! "Monday, Tuesday, these are days; Wednesday, Thursday, also days..."
Shoutout Seth for mentioning that teachers are incredibly comfortable in required social discussions. I improvise a lot of dialogue alongside 100+ high school seniors (tough crowd & even worse scene partners) for 182 days a year.
Thank you for your service to your students! 🙏🏻🎉
1) I'm disappointed that no Jackals "whoo'd" at 36:44 ; and 2) Seth's posed question: "If I just watch Corrections, but I haven't commented, am I a Jackal too?" 36:53 I don't know when we'll get another Corrections. So any thoughts, Jackals? I think if you watch more than 2-3 Corrections, you can be a Jackal, even if you don't comment. Anyone who is playing along with this game between Seth and his Jackals, is a Jackal. Cuz the troll who just writes, "This sux," isn't a Jackal even if he did write a comment.
Perhaps those who watch only are Jackolytes, supporting the show and the Jackals with their views.
I don't reply because I assume someone has written in before me....which always happens, so consider myself a jackel in attitude. I DO want a mug, and more chances to write in to the PO Box!
I think that if you’re someone who watches the show regularly, including Corrections, and have at least thought some of the things that he discusses during Corrections, you can be a Jackal. Though really, one could argue that by asking if someone could be a Jackal despite not having commented on Seth’s RUclips videos qualifies them to be a Jackal, as they clearly are a fan who wants to be part of the community. I’ve been watching Seth since SNL and as soon as he took over Late Night (and yes, I have the Jackal mug), and I think the Jackal community is meant to be open and welcoming to all who enjoy some back and forth teasing, nitpicking pronunciations and semantics, and terrible puns 🐾
Props to Aubrey for weirding out Werner Herzog. Makes me like her even more.
I'm so in love with Seth. He has to be the hottest guy that ever came out of New Hampshire. But he's also so authentic and charming. The conversational tone he has with his guests, going off-book, day drinking, corrections and Jokes Seth Can't Tell all put him above the rest yet he remains grounded.
@@christinestack7818 😂
"[COVID] was a fun time" -Seth Meyers
Been following corrections from the start proud to be a Jackal .. miss late night soooo much and corrections even more . Praying the strike gets resolved soon 🙏🙏
I clicked for Seth. I miss his show soooo much. But I stand with the writers.
In my head cannon, Seth has been at impressions camp during the entirety of the writers’ strike. This interview helps prop that up, Seth’s impressions have only improved. Give those camp counselors a raise before they strike too!
Haha he made that same joke last night during the 30 min closer look segment.
@@mamanessa and I commented that I knew I was right! It’s so awesome when jackal head cannon comes true! 😂
For anyone wondering, like me, when this was recorded: it was April 17, 2023.
Mike & Seth onstage together 🎉❤ This is going to be a re-watch for a long time to come!
my all-time favourite moment from parks & rec is werner herzog saying he's moving to orlando to live closer to disney world so it was great hearing about that scene and his aubrey plaza-induced trauma
Day drinking with Rihanna is my favourite 😊
38:30 "Cicada Cicada"!! 38:42 Werner Herzog ... lol!
I have to say that honestly Seth Myers is exactly the right kind of natural humor that just puts me away with every word he says. He’s a natural.
I miss Late Night so much 🥺
it's always funny that the voice and speech of Dr. Evil was completely based on Lorne Michaels for some reason. Not sure how much of the overall character is, but much it seems.
Can’t wait for Seth to come back! When will the strike end?
I miss Seth and my jackals so much
Along with Craig Ferguson, Seth is a great interviewer
Agreed…all are conversations, no blue cards
My husband and I are rewatching Corrections in order because we miss him so much. 😿 Watching provides us with much needed laughs, but it’s bittersweet. We even rewatched Lobby Baby for the THIRD time. I can’t wait to share this with my husband. Thank you, Seth, for everything. You absolutely saved me from drifting into madness during the pandemic.
my all-time favourite moment from parks & rec is werner herzog saying he's moving to orlando to live closer to disney world so it was great hearing about that scene and his aubrey plaza-induced trauma
I miss this show so much
Get READY, it probably will a L O N G. 1....
closer look + john oliver + the pandemic = me actually watching those shows and appreciating them for at least making all the morbid news something I can laugh at. Trevor Noah and Jimmy Kimmel too.
Not just Corrections as POTUS, but also Jokes the President Can't Tell, please! (with Amber and Jenny)
God, I miss Seth Meyers and the others, Steven Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel, I want to hear their commentary on current events SO BAD. Please fix the writer's strike. I know industry heads are doing Trump's bidding because the three late night hosts were bringing it every night and burning MAGA down, and it made Trump cry and poo his diaper, but come on guys, do something positive for your fellow man, pay the people what they're due, and end this strike!
What a Godsend! I miss Seth so much, this was a lot of fun.
Omg, Seth, your wife sounds like me!!😂😂
I absolutely adore these two comedy geniuses!
That was fantastic
Gonna take 18 months for the person filming this to switch to the video clip when prompted....
Corrections is the meta. Proud Jackal here, I'm a pain in the ass.
I'm glad he loves Corrections, because of how much I do. I'm also impressed he reads all rhe comments, but a little sad he hasn't talked about the comment I left about Cicada/Cicada-there's a recently discovered tragic cicada fungus that causes the bug to first produce LSD, then their butts fall off.
Long-form Stage Dramas ??
This was a lot of fun. Thanks :)
The writers strike is putting a cramp in my style
Sorely miss the show. Writers deserve their due, hope the strike settled soon.
Werner Herzog played himself in The Loch Ness Incident. Excellent mockumentary.
😭I miss Seth soooooo much!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
1:14:20 "The Great"! We started watching that this summer. One of the shows I watch with my spouse.
so nice to watch this conversation. I miss seeing Seth every evening.
Oh my goodness...I'm getting old...I knew all those names. Miss you guys, still solidarity with the strikers...living wage and benefits aren't too much too much to ask for...not when the top brass is not sacrificing a dime. Positive vibes from New Hampshire, remember to be kind to each other and yourself during these trying times.
“Events conspired to make it I think an impossible time to live through being chill.”
Again, I laughed so hard😂
I hear "Nathan Lane, Christine Baranski, and Harvey Fierstein" I know exactly which upcoming project we're talking about
Delightful talk. Thanks!
17 years with head in the mud, and my heart in my throat, and my wings that were yearning to flyyyyyyyyy
I miss the show and I miss CORRECTIONS. Thanks for standing up for the artists!!!
Pay the writers you money twats!
I'm rewatching this interview and watching the last part for the first time. Not because of the content,.. I just got busy like a year ago. Great interview, Mike. Thank you for mentioning The show' "The Great". It is ground breaking.
What I love about Seth Meyers is how he treats people, but most impressive is how his friends love him. They love him because he loves back. He is genuinely concerned about people and our country, his intelligence, quick wit, freaking common sense approach to this world helps me feel better. Like okay, not everyone is insane. During the more insane times over the last 5 years or so, I turn to the Kings, the leaders of comedy and common sense and yes, humor. You distill the daily News into a something I can process with hope. humor is hope. You and these select few have quelled my fears and restored my sanity -Seth, Steven, Conan, Jimmy k, Jimmy o, and prior to that John Stewart and I must mention John Oliver as well.
How long ago did they do this interview?
I was wondering that too, given that Seth was a very vocal supporter of the WGA & then the SAG-AFTRA strike, figured it had to be from a while ago.
There is nothing in the description (they really should add a disclaimer up front).
However, it was filmed April 17, 2023 at The Wallis (Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts).
Good question. Kinda seems like before the strike??
@@lynnhettrick7588 If it wasn't clear, yes it's from before (4/17/23).
WGA strike began 5/2/23.
SAG-AFTRA strike began 7/14/23.
@@Kitty8791 Thank you! I didn't see your comment for some reason when I commented. (Probably because I paused it to have dinner then came back to it later but it hadn't refreshed.)
Seth is by far the best late night host. Hope the strike ends soon.
My most beloved impression of Seths is definitely not Mike Lindell. I love when he does Lindsay Graham and his memaw and Trump with Melania ignoring Trump.
I'm already laughing 10 minutes in. Right after the comments about the floor not being interesting, we had full, lingering view of the floor and the back of heads during the Closer Look video up on the wall.
Welcome Back Seth & writers 🎉🎊
Jengiman Franklin, with the entire character, but all just Martin Short's words...... But with Steve Martin
Seth is so excited for Corrections it's like he just did a line of coat.
"Don't shoot the floor. We don't want to SEE the floor!"
Shame the cameraman wasn't paying attention.
Oh. Now I see that there is No Cameraman nor director...
Truth in Satire has always been a thing we depend on.
Thank god he isn't being interviewed by Andy Samberg like he was in another interview. This interviewer doesn't imagine he's as funny as his guest.
Such a political stooge on the show during pandemic - probably still is. I don't watch anymore.
I was really enjoying this until you mentioned frisbee.
Andy is that you?
❤❤❤❤❤❤ I need Seth back, please. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
This was just what I needed! Love Seth! So great to visit with him.
This moderator though... oy. Super cringe.
Don’t mind it but I am laughing that he, as a rich New Yorker, thinks $250 is the most extravagantly a waiter has ever been tipped
I have missed you so much, Seth!
Seth is brilliant.💙
I was hoping for Corrections
So nice to spend an evening with Seth and his friend. I’ve missed him…so much…and Corrections, for sure 😢
53:26 from a "jackal" (as you apparently refer to us!)
Did you twice or thrice say "'uh-GWEER-uh,' The Wrath of God?" You fool. 'Tis "uh-GEARR-Ā" The Wrath of God. Now Herzog's BB-riddled skeleton will haunt you for ages
(I can't wait until you guys come back on Monday. I need to mainline some Corrections 😅)
The desk piece is real
Should I be concerned that the collective impression for Lorne Michaels by people who know him sounds like Dr. Evil from Austin Powers?
Have they been trying to hint at his "enabler" status all along?
Failure to give letterman credit is inexcusable
Gotta miss Seth and all the other political comedians during the strike. My only complaint is this… Seth and Mike are such pros, it really bummed me out that somebody hired idiots for a video/camera crew. Constantly getting the wrong clip and showing the back of their heads watching the clip we can’t see are rookie mistakes.
animal flubs
Fun watch. I can't stay up to watch Seth but definitely watch it later. Freaking hilarious.
I know Zagnut, thanks to Beetlejuice [I wrote it - didn't say it - only once].
yayaya!!! Sethththth….!!! 💕
I adore Seth And his entire family love his brother mom love her and Dad he is awesome!! I’d love to see a reality show with this family lol!!! I can’t stand that all late night shows are off !!! Miss them so badly😢
An evening with Mike Schur. 🙄
Yay! 🫶
The,"Balloon", sketch? Monty Python.
I'm starting to wither away without my Seth!
This was hilarious I really enjoyed it !!
Well the Lizzo thing didn’t age well
Idk that day drinking episode is still hilarious, even if her attitude/conduct is tarnished
When did this interview happen?
Seth and Mose omg
Just let seth on….PLEASE….
This was an absolute joy to watch.
Fabulous 😂😊
It’s weirdly similar…
