- The promise was I would never have to get out my ladder and clean my gutters again--~~~ Well their smooth talking pushy salesman sure had me fooled. Thousand of dollars latter-- I still got to get out my ladder to clear my gutters. I give these guys 5 thumbs down--- DON"T FALL FOR THEIR TV ADS AND SMOOTH Talking SALES MEN~~a real waste of hard earned money
I just bought a house and my mother was saying I need these and I am glad you posted the video thank you
Just canceled my install after I starting researching the reviews. Thank you for confirming my doubts about them!
You made a very smart decision. You would have been taken to the cleaners and still had to clean your gutters. I see a lot of reviews of people who've only had it for a few months and they claim it works great. Only take into consideration the reviews of people who have had it for years.

Thank you...I was going to do sales for them in southern Oregon, until the sales process was explained to me. The manager told me that they give way high prices to the homeowners, then come way down, and sell reasonable, from which the sales rep makes nothing because the company is so damned greedy. But there are always a few customers that are gullible enough to pay the very high prices, and it's from those poor souls that the sales reps make a lot of money from. It's insane and not honest. It should be a set per foot price, period.
AND what about the quality…or lack thereof?
@@Skyking6976 I don't get that far, but there's some pretty bad reviews all over .
They need to be shut down.
Absolutely!!!!! Where is the Consumer Protection Agency?
That's terrible, I've been in the industry way too long. We sell alot of gutters, some with leaf protection. Unfortunately in all my years in the industry, as well as almost 20 years in business our company has yet to find leaf protection that actually will guaranty to "never clean your gutters". I and my sales associates have lost sales refusing to pitch false promises such as we have seen in your video. It's a shame that part of our industry has become what it is, I've researched this product as well as others. Disturbing to find how that they and many others prey on the elderly or others that may have difficulty maintaining their home, it's almost sickening.
You're very honorable and you hit it spot on. Leaffilter sales people lie right to the faces of the customers before they messed them over with their high pricing. They quoted so high and then act like they're getting a good deal by giving discounts when in reality they are profiting significantly even at the discounted rate.
Absolutely. As soon as they found I was in my 70s and getting too old to be on top of ladders any longer, they were on the prowl. More than $7,000 later I have to clean the gutter guards every 30 days instead of cleaning gutters twice a year. They should be shut down by the law.
One of the problems with these is if it rains real hard, the surface tension of the water makes the water skim right over the guards screening, and the result is that the gutters perform as if they are clogged, even if they aren’t!
Also when leaves and other debris deposit themselves on the screening, this problem only gets worse!
I could not agree more. Their product does not work if there are any trees near your house. They clog up on top of the LeafFilter guards and you have a problem that is worse than clogged gutters. The top of the guards need to be cleaned at least once a month. What a fraud.
You right.
High pressure sales = F off
That’s terrible so sorry. My house is surrounded by trees so I had no choice but to do something to try and keep the leaves and other debris out of the gutters. Did not hire a gutter guard company and did not buy expensive prefabricated brand name gutter guards. I simply purchased a roll of 1/4” hardware cloth (galvanized steel mesh) from the hardware store and cut it into 3’x 6” strips. Tuck one side of each strip under the shingles and secure the other side to the outer edge of the gutter with self tapping screws. For my 2500 square foot home total cost $160. Did it myself took about 8 or 9 hours. So far so good. I had a relative spend big money on a company that installed hooded gutter guards and he experienced your same problems. He had to pay another company to remove them. I learned from that.
I see your comment is from 5 months ago…did this work well for you this past fall/winter?
I’ve been wanting to do something with our gutters, but we have a locust tree with leaves that are small, about 1” x 1/4” and I know they’ll slip right into any leaf/gutter guard/filter. Maybe I’ll try your method.
@@sonnybaker8100 worked good as far as I can tell. Even if some small leaves/debris get through the hardware cloth you can still use a leaf blower to blow it out. You can’t do that with gutter guards.
You also have a serious lack of downspouts on your gutters.
His garage leads me to believe he is not fastidious of such matters.
Ours work just OK, seems the corners tend to collect debris and over flow in heavier rain. My roofer hates them, I have my roof cleaned and treated with moss control yearly, roofer says it takes longer to open up the filters than it would be to clean the gutters. Well live and learn.
Sorry you got scammed by that trash company LeafFilter
So sorry you got taken!!! They are crooks.
Those downspouts from the 2nd story gutters need to be directly into the lower gutters. They are useless when it comes to gutter knowledge.
Yes they do.
Do you think it's a good to take the leaflifter out .
Any metal with holes in it to filter debris will always catch debris
Drag them into court!
I got them they suck my gutters are overflowing I only had that problem when they were clogged now it does it all the time they won't do nothing about it
My son bought these for his new home 2 years ago. After a severe hail storm, his roof was damaged and needed to be repaired. The roofer would hav to remove the guards, but that cancels the warranty. He was told that the gutter guard company could remove and then replace them for $1000. Make sure you read all the paperwork before signing anything. What a racket.
they legally cannot cancel warranty for something like that.
@@PandaMan02 doesn't stop them from lying about it
Where are the downspouts? Of course, the water is going to cascade over the gutters, with no down spouts....
The downspouts are probably at the opposite sides of where he’s filming. We’ve been having this issue too (we don’t have leaf guards). It’s because our gutter isn’t pitched properly. Over the years it started to sag.
Don’t ever put these in or any other gutter screens! You still have to clean them by hand or leaf blower! Also when your shingles start to wear out the sediment falls through these gutter screens & gets stuck in the gutters eventually slowing or stopping the flow of water. Like I stated earlier, unfortunately, the only way is to clean your gutters is manually or hire someone to do it!
I just spent 50.00 at Lowes to do 40 feet of gutter. I would never pay one of these scam salespeople to install gutter screens.
Maybe it is true that you don't have to clean your gutter again. You just have to clean the LeafFilters.
How does anyone think any kind of gutter guard is gonna work? Especially with any trees nearby. There’s a sucker born every day.
I think it's hilarious that idiots buy crap from smooth talking salesmen! 😄
Those are gutter covers so nothing can get in your gutter, not even rain
its called mother nature how can ya fight her lmao thanks for the truth smile
I’ve been installing rain gutters for over 30 years. There is no such product that is maintenance free. Every leaf guard needs to be cleaned. These products eliminate the problem of plugged downspouts. But cause problems when they get covered with leaves and debris. They will need to be cleaned periodically, just like gutters without leaf guards.
They are crap. They do keep the gutters clean. Which is what they sell. But what they don’t tell you is that no matter the amount of rain or pitch of your roof. The gutters will no longer accept any water due to there screen. Little more than a drizzle and it’s like not having any gutters at all. It doesn’t come put together. The installer has to slide the stainless screen into the tracks and caulk it in with silicone before the install. Leaf filter is based out of Ohio. Garbage crap
You don't Have to clean your gutters
I don't mean to rub salt into the wound, but a person would have to be very ignorant if they think they'll never have to clean out their gutters. If water can get into the gutters, so can debris.
their add says you will never have to get the ladder out to clean clogged gutters again-- and that is correct, but the debris just sits on top of their screens so basically the gutters are blocked form doing their job and you still have to get the ladders out and clean them~~~ the advertising is tricky--it is like a shoe company saying "dont worry about getting bite by a rattle snake these boots will protect your legs--but the snake can still bite your arm---" it only provides a minimum protection fro the problem, and its super expensive!!~~~
Exactly, when my Father called them about honoring their warranty, they stated that the guarantee was only for leaves causing clogs. When they sent out a subcontractor to look at the issue I was having. Even he stated the micro mesh is terrible and Leaf Filter has since moved on to a more open screen since the class action law suit.
Obvious the design won’t work with the fine mesh screen. They should be arrested.
they should go to jail,, they target the elderly
