I'm doing a king size dbl peddle flower garden quilt currently. This quilt is awesome. I love the pattern. Tells me that hexagon quilts don't have to be "just" a grandmother flower garden. This is inspirational. Thank you so much for fantastic ideas.
Beautiful work. Just so glad to hear your surgery is near and your new temperature quilt I can't wait to see that one too. You are settling really well I. Your new home. So many hexagons. So glad to hear you again . In good spirits. Thank you so much for giving us a update. Really miss your work and it was great to see the progress on the rug for your friend. Keeping you in my prayers for a speedy recovery. I had a knee done so I know how it is nice to have surgery over with. I just can't tell you how happy I was to see a update. Thank you so much.
Thank you Denise. I will let everyone know how the surgery went in early Feb. By that time I should have finished the patchwork for the diamond quilt and started sewing hexagons together for the temperature quilt.
Hello from San Diego, CA!!!! Julie….. I’m loving your quilt!! It’s way to beautiful to be a rug!!!!! I just finished my 2nd Grandmothers Flower Garden Quilt. I’m on my way to starting this quilt. What an inspiration you are to us hexie lovers!!!! Your work is awesome!! Keep up the great work!!!!♥️
Hi Virginia. I am glad I can be of some inspiration to you and good luck with your own hexagon journey. I must clarify that in Australia and the UK a "throw rug" is not a rug for the floor but a quilt or blanket that is smaller than usual and us just used to cover your lap and legs if you are sitting in a chair or on a couch. It is not designed to be big enough to cover your whole body. Thanks. Julie
Thanks Kate. So far there has been no delays with this hip and if the blood test comes back the same or lower than last time it should all be ok. The odds are against the surgeon getting covid on the day of my surgery again.
Your quilt is stunning. I like the way you are organising your temperature hexies on the board. Great idea. I hope all your tests go to plan and you get your surgery as scheduled. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks Jane. I will have the quilt finished next week and I will start actually quilting it late Feb. The op should be pretty smooth going if the last one was anything to go by. I will do another update early Feb.
love the idea of the temp quilt going to be so pretty. I did a cross stitch tree in 2020 or 2021, where the leaves were the temperature were the leaves. Happy crafting Patty
The quilt is gorgeous, Julie. I have 16 100 hexigons punched to do LaPassion. Thank you so much. Hopefully you get the hip done, and are feeling better soon.
I love the la passion design but may never get my one quilted as it is too bug to hang anywhere and I already have a quilt for my bed which is too heavy to use.
as it is just a patchwork and not a finished quilt it wouldn't sell for much and it would have to be to someone who could collect it as there is no way I would want to pack it up for posting.

The temp quilt will be roughly 2 feet wide by 1 foot high.....that is my guess but even if it is bigger it qont end up being useable as a quilt....it will probably get put in a picture frame. Thanks for thegood luck regarding my surgery.
might be interesting to do one every year and then each year could be a "square" or unit of a regular size quilt one day. It could be a "climate change quilt" lol @@juliethornton
The quilt will have backing and batting. For now it is still at the patchwork or 'top' stage. A throw rug is a quilt of blanket you have just the thow over yourself if you are sitting on a couch or chair....smaller than a bed quilt or blanket
The rows are alternate sizes as one row of diamonds just has the white border which are 25 x half inch hexagons for the design didamond and then 24 white hexagons around it and the alternate row is the same but with the added row of pink half inch hexagons. Roughly each diamond is about 10 inches by 5-6 inches. I don't currently have a ruler so am just guessing.

No problem as to being inspirational. I just do designs that I like. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Good luck with your operation Julie. Your quilt is beautiful. Take care, Kathy xxx
Thank you Kathy.

Ohhhh ok Julie!!!! That’s a lot better…. We call those lap quilts!😂❤ You are truly a gifted quilter!
Love that quilt Julie! Good luck with your blood test, and let’s hope the hip op goes ahead this time!

(super late again, haha) omg a temperature quilt sounds so cool, looking forward seeing it done next year!
I am looking forward to making something very small for a change.

Thank you very much Elaine. I also hope the surgery doesn't get delayed.
Good luck with the op Julie. Diamond quilt looking good. 😀

The quilt is coming out so beautifully, I love it
Thank you very much Janice......I am very pleased with it and so is my friend.

Hi Patty, Your cross-stitch sounds amazing. I tend to stick with kits when I cross-stitch.
Beautiful work! All the best to you with your health.
Thank you very much.
Good luck with your hip surgery Julie! You will feel so much better after it’s all done. ❤️
Thanks. I know it will be awesome once it is done as the other one made a world of difference.

@@juliethornton Maybe you should look into selling. Hand-sewn quilts fetch quite a bit of money.

I want to do the La Passion quilt but it looks a bit intimidating! Where did you get the pattern?

Best of luck with the op - hope you feel better when it’s done x
Thank you very much. I am sure I will feel 100% better once it is done.
Just hope all is well and you are on the road to recovery and sending prayers to help you heal.
Thank you. I am home now but it will be a long recevery
Did you say what the dimensions of the temperature quilt would be? That will be a fun project to follow! Good luck on the surgery!

That is a very good idea. I will see how the furst one goes and then see if I want to do one every year.
Beautiful 🥰
Thank you
Does this quilt have backing and batting? Sorry not sure what ' rug' expression means. Fasinating work. I love your channel julie.
