- Testing out my new Mayflash F300 Arcade Fightstick with the Xbox One and PC (sorry I don’t have a PS4) When it comes down to fighting games this stick doesn’t disappoints only when you play some MAME games like side scrolling shooters and platform games but other than that’ it’s an awesome peace of kit for fighting games.

Saeid Rafiei How much does it go for? And is it really reccomended for someone like me who's never used it? Because I'm trying to get better at Tekken so I can fully get to use Kazuya movements so that they can be more fluid if you know what I mean, because his moves contain a lot of diagonals which with a controller is quite challenging. Would you suggest me buying an arcade stick?

Fionn Mellon I was supposed to buy one too but I've been told that it's pointless since it is extremely hard to master it but it's really tempting... I'm still considering buying one though even if it would take a few months to learn
Nick Narcoz it's obviously going to be extremely hard for some people because they are coming from playing on pad there whole life, it's more pointless to not try, if you get one it's obviously going to take a month for it to actually settle in and readjust your whole muscle memory for a new stick

I ordered mine and it should be here in a couple of days I'm very interested in other Mame related retro games such as Frogger, time pilot, and vertical shoot em ups they are my bread and butter games from the 80s I used to enjoy!
If you’re a 80's gamer then go for the X-Arcade stick, in my opinion it's the best arcade stick for arcade games

I have the f300 it's really great. I just hate that it needs to be hooked up to a controller everytime. But all and all an amazing stick!

Did you notice if you could use a headset plugged into the Xbox controller while the controller was plugged into the fight stick?
Zero Has No Limits on the ps4 i plugged my headset into the controller and i couldnt speak in Party anymore and Heard all the gamesound through the headset i hope someone can help

Since this won't be that good with other certain types of games, what alternative do you suggest for those games?
For retro gaming the X -Arcade is best, if you ask way? that's because this stick is true to the Arcades also it claims Zero input lag but that all depends on what emulator you running.
Thank you. I checked their site and the affordable X-Arcade (without shipping cost) is at $120 and won't start shipping till February 2019. Also there was no word for console compatibility. I decided I rather not wait or pay probably twice that with shipping.
I just ordered a Mayflash Universal Arcade Flight Stick F500 which comes with an octagonal gate too. Hopefully it's good. I seriously dislike my Hori Fighting Stick Mini 4.
The problem with X-Arcade that you will need adapters in order to play it on consoles and they don't come cheap. The F500 stick is nice for its price.

+DELL395 Thanks! There is a USB controller Icon at the front edge of the arcade stick ( 1:17 ) is were you plug in the console controller.The restrictor gate is swappable but cant fined a circler gate anywhere for this Stick :/

I have never owned a fight pad but always have loved fighting games but hated using a standard controller so this video made me feel alot better ordering this. If i may ask what is the main difference with the swana buttons and is it worth it to get them and is it easy to install? Thanks!
Yes its easy to install Sanwa parts without having to do any mod to the case or wiring. I haven't install any Sanwa parts to the Mayflash as I haven't had any issues with the stick when it come to fighting games

the original works great for games of that nature. It's half the price as well. The black one from the first clip is what I'm talking about.

+Strife Maximilian No It has a dedicated Xbox 360 built in the Arcade stick when playing PC games so no need to plug in the XB1 controller
when using it for SFV on the PC did you have to use a 3rd party software to map the buttons, or did it just work?

yes, the buttons are way better and less faulty than the regular Mayflash, and i believe you can switch the square gate with an octagonal gate easier. As for the hori mini, I am not sure.
how did the joystick feel? Cluncky or did it work smoothly on inputs like Hadouken with the D, DF, F. How are dashes and FADC on it?

i dont understand the "square restrictor gate" thing , what does that do ? Im planning to buy one of this to play MAME games , specially shut-em-ups / beat em ups and (Raiden , Gradius , 1942-all the 19xx games - metal slugs games (1 to 6) Mortal Kombat Games (1 to 4 ) . Will i have some real problems playing those games ? Thanks in advance
The restrictor plate is a piece of plastic that restricts how far the joystick can move in any given direction. Joysticks with a square restrictor plate are the standard for Japanese arcade machines.
I'm assuming you've spent most of your life on American arcade machines, in which case it's likely you grew up using sticks with a circle restrictor plate. The big difference between the two is that a square restrictor plate has a larger "throw distance" on the diagonals, meaning the distance you need to move the stick before hitting the restrictor plate is longer. However, unlike a circle restrictor plate, you always know when you've hit the diagonal since it comes to a point.
The truth is that his con is his own opinion. He's probably used to playing with a circle restrictor plate, as you likely are, and a square restrictor plate takes some adapting. As I mentioned, square restrictor plates are the standard for Japanese arcade machines, including shoot-em-ups and beat-em-ups, and they get along just fine. After you've used the stick for a while, you won't even be hitting the restrictor plate most of the time.
His actual con, I think, should have been the stick's "engage distance" (the distance the stick has to be moved before you hear that 'click' sound, indicating you've made an input). This stick seems to have a far engage distance, similar to a Sanwa JLF (the Japanese standard stick for fighting games). I'm not super sure since I mostly use this to play Street Fighter and Guilty Gear, but I know when I played Thumper and Melody's Escape, both being rhythm games that require quick inputs, I felt like the amount of time it took me to move the stick before I'd get an input was a little too long.
It's likely the engage distance is what he was actually trying to indicate when he mentioned the square restrictor plate, since I think most Japanese SHMUPs use a Seimitsu LS-32 or similar (which has a medium engage distance), and American joysticks pretty much across the board have a medium-short engage distance.
Like I said, however, I'm not fully certain. I'm hopefully getting the part I need in today to switch out the stock stick for a Seimitsu LS-32, and I'll know the engage distance for sure once that happens.
Dustin Grames How did your stick mod go? I plan on tearing out the stick and buttons when I get mine.
TITANSPIRIT It went fine for the buttons. Seimitsu buttons are ever so slightly bigger so that took a little more effort (like, literally just required more 'oomph' to get in the hole), but that was fine. The stick, and this is probably worth noting if this is your first time...you'll want a metal plate for the stick you get that's of similar flat panel design to what's already in there. The other thing is that a lot of sticks you can buy will only come with a 5-pin connector, which doesn't work for this unless the new stick is the one receiving the male plugins. This stick only has a female connection for a 5-pin plugin, and I know my Seimitsu LS-32 only had a female connection as well, so I head to get a separate part (it was only like 65 cents or something) that was a female-female connector. It's worked fine for me since I got that.

I tried using this in King of Fighters 13. I can do the fireball motion on a consistent basis, however I noticed that when I try to some combos that involved doing the fireball motion, it skips the down-forward input. It's probably just me, but it is frustating nonetheless

Did anyone order one of these and have a stick that never clicked and had next to no tension in the stick? I ordered one from Amazon last week and returned it. Pacman was almost non responsive,the stick felt dead or almost dead. I opened up the case and saw that the ring and restrictor were both on the bottom of the stick but didn't want to fool with them since I chose to return it more than possibly tamper too much with an open case that Amazon might object to me doing. I guess what I'm asking is when you all order this stick was or great right out of the box?
No having to adjust the stick inside the case? Mine felt so loose it felt like it was broken but it wasn't,it did have movement with pacman but I couldn't control which direction to control PacMan. I'd appreciate you guys letting me know how this stick has been for you with pacman type games and how the stick is overall. Mine must have been really defective. Amazon has two left but I'm abit iffy on ordering this same stick again from them,maybe theyre all refurbished junk? Any other retailer like Amazon allow instant returns if youre not satisfied with the stick?

For the price, I do recommend it. if you need something strictly for MAME than American style stick and buttons are the way to go.

Zechs for 360 it has to be a licensed wired controller. third party controllers won't work. xbox one is the same. Just plug the usb into the controller then into the bottom of the fight stick
