- Based on the bike Alessio Chiodi took to the world championship, the 2001 factory Husqvarna 125 was raced by Briton Stephen Sword in the world and British championships until it was bought by amateur racer Sonnie Mee-Harris.
After riding and racing it since then, he used the Covid lockdown to strip it down and get it fully rebuilt with as many factory parts as he could het. And now he's riding it again!
Sonnie tells the story of the bike, how it's so special and gives it its first on-track test ride since it's total rebuild. Авто/Мото
Some of the best looking bikes ever IMO. They paved the way for the wrap around tank shrouds now standard on KTM/KXF/CRF. And that was in 2000. Bold design team.
Great to see Mx passion like this and it’s why we still have older two stroke bikes that look like new, well done that man 👏
Thanks dude there is a couple more to come my son is building a Y2k Chiodi bike and I ve got an Ferracci frame, shock, forks and triple clamp so I am going to build one of those whether it’s a Chiodi version or a steve Lamson version o don’t know yet
sonnie mee-harris this might be if interest to you, I was listening to Steve Lamson being interviewed on the whiskey throttled show last year and he talked about that bike a lot, he actually liked it but had a few problems getting the parts back then, very interesting.
I’m doing a 1999 Cr 250 at the moment and I even though we’re older and slower us older riders have more passion for the sport than ever 😃✊
Gazza yeah the FBF team mechanics was most off the problem they we tarmac guys didn’t understand dirt suspension and didn’t really want to work on shitty bikes they only got him a hike ready a week before the 1st race so he couldn’t test then there was the swing arm issue major issue was Lamson came to Italy and tested Chiodis factory bike and he was like yeah I can win on this then the factory sent the team stock bikes off the production line and crates full of parts for them to bolt on it didn’t work out to well Karl from the Motorex uk team was sending them parts and settings and stuff to try out by 2002 but I think it was too late it could have been so different if husky had of taken it really seriously
Watched the whiskey throttle interview with lammy really good if only he had the same machinery he tested it could have been so different, major issues them swing arms in 01 a whole run with bad welds we spent a day re doing the faulty weld in 01 some lasted some didn’t I still have a cracked one in my workshop
You look like a Giant on the Husqvarna 125 , Mate . Ever think about going to a 250 ? I believe it will suit you better . I know the 125's are a whole lot of fun . Some 250's are about the same size but with much more power . When I was 13 years old I was working and I bought my first CR125 and about mid year I was able to buy a 250 . Loved riding both , the 250 was much more powerful and faster so when I got back on the 125 I could pin the throttle WFO and scream around the track . You bring back a lot of memories . Have fun and thanks for the video , Mate . 😊
Great video love 2 strokes the husky and older ones are lovely looking bikes nice track there
Track is awesome especially now they added the new woods section
love the look of old huskys
Husky has come a long way expeasly the motorcross bikes. Wick On ✊
Love this. I have a chance to grab an old husky 125 and this sure makes me want to do it. I love my four-stroke Italian husky.
What are they asking for the bike?
Getting famous off of comments day 112
KRISPYY!!!!
That DLR silencer always sounded different to everything else in the paddock
Nice 👌 you can tell he's not running the factory suspension in this vid
The rear shock is one of the factory jobs i have two to choose from the forks aren’t though weren’t back from having the new coatings in time but they will be back on soon
Would love to see Zacho race Chiodi bike
Where did you find the plastics specifically the plastics on the gas tank. Im from Canada and the only ad I can find is on ebay. Mine is a cr250 husky same year as yours so might be different not sure
That's the bike he should be riding , he huge on the 125 ! 😂
Where did you get the parts?
is he large or is the bike small?
I think he’s just huge. Makes that thing look like a 80cc
Yes, he's a very tall fella.
Thats what i was thinking hahaha
I am massive to be fair 6’7”
@@MotoHead He's miles too big for a 125 lol.. he should be on a 250 or even 500 with that size rubber neck on him
Is that a giant riding it or is it a 65?
That's what I said , 😂
Dude makes that bike look tiny
He He He ! He must have ate all his vegetables ! 😅
I can’t un-see the straight line from the tip of the rad scoop to the bottom of the rear number plate at 4:13
Mine has black plastics. Blends in much better. I never liked the look of the “line” with the yellow graphics.
Where the hell can i get parts for my 2002 lmao
If anyone has any Husky Cr125 parts please get in contact with me.
I'm just about to start a build on my bike ready for spring/summer
It's very hard to get the parts for these days though that's why I just turn one down that was dirt cheap
Thinking about buying one, listed for 1000$ needs pistons, rings, cylinder.
Should I not do it?
@@firesquad6150 If that's all that's really wrong with it. some parts for the engine are very hard to find. I like owning bikes that it's still easy to buy all parts for.
@@onenessseeker5683 it will be my first time rebuilding a bike. I’m really not worried I will be able to do it. But just thinking of the numbers and if it makes sense. I haven’t given an offer yet but won’t be in for 1000$
@@onenessseeker5683 I wish I could send you the link lol. Do you have Facebook?
@@firesquad6150 I wouldn't really know till I was at the bike in person to check everything out.. Just don't get ripped off. Take things easy. Really think before you act, buy. good luck
