Another awesome vid mate. Loving these and seeing your interpretation of different artists, huge inspiration as I think we share very similar tastes and love hearing how you re-create all my fave artists haha. Keep them coming you deserve way more views for such great info.

Found your content through your bonobo video and was literally thinking that youd be able to do Jon Hopkins really well, lol.
    Great video!

I'm new to music production but was inspired to create music because of artists like Brian Eno, The Chemical Brothers, Fred Again... but especially Jon Hopkins. This video has taught me so many things that I've been doing wrong and ways to make everything sound better, and a different approach to creating music. Its so helpful that you take the time to explain everything and isolate every track so we can hear exactly what you've changed. So thank you a lot. This is the first video I've seen of yours but I'm definitely going to check more out!

Impressive array of styles covered on your channel Tom - this one, in particular, is super high quality! Showing how you would approach building one of these 8-16 bar ideas out to complete piece would be interesting.

Thank you for the support! I agree a video building up from scratch would be beneficial. It would be a fair bit harder to film/edit but I could give it a go at some point. Thanks for the advice :)

Hey Tom, thanks vor another great tutorial! I wondered before why you are doing your drums with audio snippets instead of a quick sampler or some drum rack, any clues on that?

Thank you mate! Tbh it's just how I've always done it, I like to see the transients in the arrange window rather than hidden away in a single MIDI track. It's the same at the end of the day and putting in a drum rack probably gives more flexibility but it's just a personal preference type thing. How do you do it?

Smashed it mate! Apols if you've answered in a previous vid but where do you get your drum samples from?

Great to hear! I tend to use a variation of deep house vengeance drum samples and then various foley sounds that I find about. What do you use?
