    From Leo: Great tour Marty, I appreciate your work. Some years ago I was needing strings for a short scale bass and I had a question. I contacted and left messages at three string companies. D'Addario was the only one who called back. They answered my question and sent me some samples. I have bought D'Addario strings exclusively since. I have Tech'ed for shops on and off, unless the customer wants something else, they all get d'Addario strings. Never have any complaints.

    • @MashaT22
      @MashaT22 2 года назад +4

      I had a similar experience several months back. I was already used D’addario XT Acoustic Phosphor Bronze strings, but I had some concerns about buying the XS with a different slicker coating and the sound profile being a tad more treble-sided. I sent an email explaining that I’m disabled and without an income, and that I was worried my fingers would slip off the new coating and I’d end up wasting money on a pack of strings that may not work out. But I told them I was eager to try them because people were saying they sound tighter and the new coating eliminates some string noise. I was hoping to get some advice as to whether they felt the XS string were much more slicker than the XT’s. Instead, the company immediately offered to send me a sample XS pack. Then they made a goof and sent a pack of XT’s by accident, and even after I offered to mail them back, they told me to enjoy the XT pack and that the XS pack would follow. The sample pack really helped me decide that I prefer the feel of the XT’s more than the XS on my guitar. It made me feel extremely valued that the company cared enough to make sure I could identify the best strings for my needs and guitar, even as a relative beginner (I’m nearly two years in at this point). I’ve never heard of anyone ever saying another brand sent them an entire sample pack of strings before - and I didn’t even know D’addario would be willing to do so. It’s really awesome of them to genuinely care about helping customers!
