2:35 having one eye doesn't mean you have no depth perception, at least not if you have a big eye like a cyclops. Such a large eye means it has a large focal length, so by rapidly shifting focus it is possible to get a very good idea of depth of field.
What I always wondered is what a cyclops/monoeye's brain is like, since the eye must take up a large portion of the skull's interior space...is it like an octopus brain? Ring shaped so it can go around the giant eye in the skull?
Also as far as I know, snipers only have one scope, for one eye... So usually snipers close one eye while aiming or not? Since I would say that the brain would get confused about one image being normal and one being zoomed in?

@@stuffandthings617From what I've learned from people who use scopes, closing one eye is kind of a crutch, and more practiced people just focus on the scoped eye and mentally of block out the other one.

As someone who has lived with eye one, I have full depth perception! not having it is a myth, only if you have recently been injured, have to use only one eye, or lost one when living with two your whole life, only THEN do you lose depth perception, and only temporarily while you now singular eye adapts.
Wanted to say as I would like more people to be aware of this rather than thinking "one eye, ya done!" haha

They're kinda like Makibishi Spikes, except not as sharp.
You don't need two eyes for depth perception persay. What you need is something to receive visual information that are some distance apart. A large enough single organ/device will also be able to do it. It depends on the exact make up of her eye, whether it focus light onto a single point or multiple.
Manako does lack depth perception, confirmed later. That being said, it's surprisingly common for snipers and hunters to close an eye when aiming and firing.
@@CdogofNod1 Well, you aren't supposed to... but it's not for range perception but rather situational awareness and wide angle target finding.
Range adjustment, especially for sniping, is done before firing, so that you can calibrate for drop off and wind. Minute change in range thereafter is generally irrelevant given the scale of distance you are working with. There are tools for that though, and it's done by the spotter if one is available so that the sniper can stay on the gun.
@justanoman6497 Very well put. I'll admit that when I've gone hunting, I've closed one eye when aiming with a scope (Gave me a headache trying to focus on the crosshairs). It's why I just use irons (I know it doesn't quite make sense. I just don't get headaches using them). In reference to the scene, Manako goes a little more in-depth, mentioning to herself something similar to what you explained. She lists mathematics and then complains after the shot, wondering if the others were just being jerks making her set up so far away.

Born in 2003 here. You bounce the ball while sitting on the ground and try to pick up the Jack's as fast as you can before the ball hits the ground. You also have to catch the ball before it hits the ground again for the points to count. Why do I know this? Cartoons mostly. (Old cartoons)

How to play jacks. From a gen xer. Bounce the ball grab a jack. Bounce again grab 2 jacks. Bounce again grab three jacks. Each time you catch the ball after picking up your jacks and if you can't catch the ball or drop a jack while catching your turn is over. Each bounce you grab one extra jack. After everyone has had a turn the winner is the one who grabbed the most jacks.

because sniper scopes have meter/yard markings a person with one eye (to which you need to close one eye to actually use a scope. though many train to keep both eyes open so they don't limit their field of view) could still be a great sniper. the most important things are 20/10 vision, the ability to hit a target, and the ability to do a shit ton of calculations very quickly (distance, wind direction, wind speed, bullet drop, height, etc)

I've always wondered what the properties of a transformed Shellder on a Slowbro's tail are. Is it a new, separate species of Pokémon in a branching evolution path from Cloyster? Is the change purely cosmetic? Is it no longer an individual Pokémon at all but simply a semi-sentient part of Slowbro, akin to a Girafarig's tail having a small brain that leads it to bite? It was going to be an Individual Pokémon of sorts in Gold & Silver until it waw removed. Was it replaced by Slowking, leaving the matter unresolved? The world may never know.
