Lord being declawed is another example of how Elsie abandoning him has affected him. The father said that he started scratching the family after he was found alone in the woods. Meaning his behavior is a direct result of his trauma, even if he isn’t consciously aware of it. If it hadn’t been for Elsie, Lord would still have his claws and wouldn’t have to go through the painful process of being declawed, which has left him less able to defend himself. This likely adds to Elsie’s guilt and desire to protect Lord.

These videos of feral compelled me to look into Tony fleecs comics. As a fan of xenofiction. I was so happy to see all story using animals in such a fantastic way. Yesterday I read through all of stray dogs for myself before watching your videos on them. And wow was it worth it. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this team. Thank you for making these videos giving reviews in a well constructed way. I’ve been able to follow along with you in feral even when I didn’t have the books. I’ll be staying tuned to pick up some nice skills of critical thinking and character analysis :)

Wow! Thanks for the kind words! Stray Dogs was the first series I read by this creative team and it blindsided me. I was truly impressed and have kept up with them ever since. It’s comments like yours that make doing this worth it! 👍👍👍👍

Lord Fluffy Britches. Even his name alluded to his happy-go-lucky personality. Is it all his personality had always been, or is he using this to block out a terrible event of betrayal? I've heard about how some neurotypical people use various ways to distract or block out their negative emotions toward an event or feelings to another using elements that bring them back to their comfort zone, whatever it may be. His chipper and unaware nature seems to be his form of that behavior. It's also crushing to see the images of his caregivers seeing him injured in the forest, and him being declawed, providing even deeper context to that end. I ask again: Is he born with this personality, or was it triggered by traumatic events? With the way the story hints to either possibility, I like how they leave it to you to interpret your own conclusions about him. Elsie may be our protagonist, but Lord is the major driving force to the inner conflict of the story: What lengths would you go to forgive and how would the seemingly crushing world change when you do? Will it move you forward, or move those you care about back? Just something to think about as their tale unfolds in a Feral world.

Those are all interesting thoughts. It never definitively says whether his behavior is innate or caused on his trauma, but you can certainly make connections either way.

you have to remember declawing is not the same as a cat getting there nails cut/trimmed, declawing is removing bone's in the paw's, it would be like removing the first knuckle at your finger tips and cat's who have been declawed are often in constant pain and can develop issues later on

As you reviewed the stories, Lord was one of the characters I could not stand. Like I'm thinking how can someone be so dumb in many dangerous situations multiple times. That's why him loosing his tail and experiencing being separated from the other cats, at least allows him to grow up a bit. I'm sure Lord will be more cautious going forward. Side note, I owned a declawed cat, but they were declawed way before we adopted them. It was only recently where I heard that declawing cats can apparently fuck them up badly. I think Lord will wind up getting infected. Like how can he not with how careless he is.

I understand your opinion of Lord; I was the same way. I didn’t like him at all. In fact, I was a big Jonas fan. However, I think Lord has grown on me some and he will certainly grow up over the next few issues.

@@ComicDrops I think in the television adaptation, Jonas will understand more about why Lord feels the way he is as revealed by Patch and Jonas might question Elsie's leadership and backstory as the TV series progresses and Jonas will likely survive in the television adaptation unlike the comics

I know that I’m a bit late, but out of all the characters in the series Next to Elsie, Lord is by far my most personal favorite character out of everyone else. His condition is something that resulted from a very tragic event in his life yet is what makes him more interesting and when looking back at it from previous issues, I came to a realization that most of Lords traits resulting from said condition happen to have major similarities towards ADHD.
They both happen to show the same signs and symptoms very similar to one another with the most major ones especially being Impulsiveness, Hyperactivity, unable to stay still, acting without thinking, forgetfulness, extreme impatience, and majorly the inability to stay focused. I was able to recognize most of the signs in Lord looking back through the comic due to also having ADHD as well and saw this be a completely unexpected yet good representational portrayal of the disorder despite being more or so the cat equivalence of it.
It might have been complete coincidence for it to be added to the series with the creating team being unaware of it but for me I took no offense to it at all for I see it as good representation on lords character making me both like and relate to him more and hope that the team will expand upon this in future issues of the series.

@@ComicDrops Another thing in the television adaptation of Feral is that Gigi will tell Jonas that she's pregnant with her kittens and is about to give birth after Lord runs away while Patch and Scratch look for Lord endlessly unlike Elsie who stays behind to look out for Gigi and Jonas
The only character who will get shot is Jack because Jack had saved Patch from being devoured by a group of rabid foxes and ended up getting scratched in the process and he was so close to succumbing to the infection after bidding farewell to Patch and Scratch when Jack was shot dead
However! Because Lord is standing up for Gigi, I feel like Gigi will accept Lord and will nurture him a lot more than Elsie as Gigi continues to call Elsie out for neglecting her duties to her and the kittens, what Elsie did to Lord and her reckless decision to let rabid cats out of the room starting a bloody massacre in The Cat Lady's house and tensions between Gigi and Elsie will only get worse in Issue 10 of Feral and Lord will stand up for Gigi yet again
As heartbreaking as it sounds when Lord runs away after finding out the truth from Patch, it's only a matter of time before Lord lashes out at Elsie in anger and build resentment towards Elsie because of what Elsie has done in terms of her actions and this presents family drama between brother and sister in Feral

@ I think Patch and Lord are the subject of puns in the comics and the television adaptation of Feral
Also! There's a major difference when it comes to MTV and FX
FX doesn't have a talk show like after each show like MTV does where they talk show with a host like after each TV show and it's kinda like how AMC did it's own talk show with a host after The Walking Dead
Plus! If anything, I think Elsie is the antiheroine of the show while Gigi, Patch and Lord are the stars of the television adaptation of Feral

I could never declaw my cats because to me it is cruel. U are taking something away that can help them defend themselves. It also apparently messes with the cat mentally as well. So if u plan to declaw your cat, maybe just get the rubber things to place on their claws or get them a scratching post. If u did declaw your cat I'm not saying u are a bad person, u probably had no idea like I didnt at first but I just wanted to let others know in the future. I'm glad I didn't get any of my cats declaw as I don't know how they can defend themselves in the wild. But yesh poor lord. I feel so bad for him. All because he did things based on normal instincts, they took away what could have helped him later in life.

I think Feral Issue 10 might reveal Elsie about to lose her temper towards Gigi and of course Lord is gonna stand up for Gigi and the kittens. The only question is which cat will take it too far and have a downfall, would it be Chloe or Elsie and who's decision to devour one of the cats alive to save Gigi's kittens. Plus if anything I think Gigi would have to devour Chloe and it would be ironic because of Chloe's betrayal and for Chloe ending up trapped in the basement
Also! After they escape The Cat Lady's clutches, they end up going to an abandoned pet supply superstore and met some more cats on the way, but there would be more tensions when one of the cats has a vicious guard dog at the superstore and they are gonna figure out what the cats are after and what the cats are hiding that is gonna be revealed in future Feral issues by March and April of 2025.
