      Every time before reducing your speed, the first thing you need to see is your internal mirror and make sure that vehicles are not very close behind you. Then check your right mirror and right blind spot (this is important so as to make sure that there are no cyclists/motorists riding on your right side), then indicate right and manoeuvre to the right. While stopping confirm also that you are not stopping on an area that is not allowed to stop, like on an exit from a building is not allowed to stop at.
      While moving away from Stop position, the procedure is you check your internal Mirror, Left mirror and left blind spot. When you confirm that it is safe to move on, you indicate left and move on.

    Hello, thank you for the nice video. At 19:41, you are taking the left lane for going towards Biskopsgarden. Next, you take a left turn at the next junction. The sign doesn't mention the direction of Biskopsgarden. Did you do it because of your previous knowledge of the route or am I missing/misreading a sign?

    • @ClearRoadDriving
      @ClearRoadDriving  7 месяцев назад

      Hej, I turned to the left because that was the route that was followed by the student driver during the exam. All the roads I drive through was the exact same route that the student driver has driven through during his practical exam. As to the sign board, yes it seems be missing the direction sign....I checked the spot on google map and I can see the direction next to Biskopsgarden on the google map picture (you can see the direction when you see the picture from left side and the direction is missing when you see the picture from the right side)....So I assume that the direction sign was broken recently (May be or may be not)...But if there are such confusing stuffs on direction, you can definitely ask the examiner, he can also inform you before hand....If you are curious about the google map view, I pasted the link here and hope it opens for you as well (otherwise, try looking it yourself from different directions on google map): www.google.se/maps/@57.7080419,11.8897829,3a,75y,106.21h,96.7t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1soFBPqoWIWQRzW2kmn4sgMA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu

    27:56 it is very hard to see the board and deciding the lane early is tough. But we might not be able to learn all the roads, what if incase we end-up a situation like this in the exam? Take the wrong lane and switch later on?

    • @ClearRoadDriving
      @ClearRoadDriving  9 месяцев назад +1

      If you plan to go with Hisingen for your practical exam, I strongly advice you to be familiar with this area, you have a very high possibility of crossing this area. Unless the examiner takes you towards Säve, you will have high chance of driving through this traffic light. But, as a general rule, if you end up in a wrong lane and if it is too late or not safe to switch to the correct lane, continue driving on the wrong lane and comeback again. Just be vocal to the examiner that you missed the lane.

    20:10 where do you position/pause the car if there are several oncoming vehicles? Will you cross the green light /stop line and keep the car in the middle of the road in the hope that the oncoming traffic will have a gap?

    • @ClearRoadDriving
      @ClearRoadDriving  9 месяцев назад +1

      If you are the first car in front, yes you can cross the Stop line and wait in the middle of the road without blocking the cars from the opposite direction (that are both going straight and turning to their left). Being in the middle of the road, you can wait for a gap or until the traffic light become RED. So if you don't get a gap while the traffic light is Green, they will for sure stop when the traffic light changes to RED, then you need to quickly make the left turn before the vehicles on the crossing lane start moving. If you are the second car on the traffic light, I would say that you can cross the Stop line depending on where the front car is waiting (you make this judgment yourself if you can turn left quickly without obstructing other road users when you get a gap or when the traffic light changes to RED ). But if you are the third or the fourth car, it is better to wait behind the solid white line.

    15:48 what if there are couple of buses in the bus lane going 68kmph and 50kmph(behind the first bus). Will you take this exit or go for next one?

    • @ClearRoadDriving
      @ClearRoadDriving  9 месяцев назад

      As a general rule, if you can't make the lane change safely, don't do it. Having said that, if you know the road well and plan your exit properly, you can almost always do the lane switch. While exiting, you can indicate and start observing your mirror and blind spot. When Buses see your indicator, they adjust their speed and make a gap for you. you need to make sure that the Buses have understood your intention before switching the lane. One important point here is that just because you indicated doesn't give you the permission to make the lane switch, you also need to make sure that the vehicles on the other lane are in a good distance behind or if they are closer, they are cooperating to let you make the lane switch.

    At 28:39, when you drive through a green light, the pedestrian light ahead will be red correct?

    • @ClearRoadDriving
      @ClearRoadDriving  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, the light for the pedestrians crossing my way will have Red light. But if I want to turn to the right or left, I can have a green pedestrian light on the road I am turning to, in which case I will have to let pass those pedestrians. You can take it like this, when you have green light on traffic light, pedestrians crossing your road will have Red light, where as pedestrians walking parallel to you will have Green light - you will have to deal with those pedestrians only if you turn to the right or to the left after the traffic light.

      @@ClearRoadDriving I have a general question about stop and give way. When you stop to enter a major road, and you are turning right. Do you need to wait for cars coming from right (going in opposite way where you intend to travel), or can we enter the road to go right if road in my direction of travel is clear.

    • @ClearRoadDriving
      @ClearRoadDriving  7 месяцев назад

      No, you don’t need to wait such cars. Since you both are driving on your own lane, you can drive on without waiting them. Ofcourse, you need to be carfull not to step in to their lane while trying to turn. But as long as you are on your lane, there is no danger whatsoever.

    Hi, at 17:10 in the video, if there is a vehicle approaching on the left lane, should i just continue on right lane and don't switch or should I slow down? Thanks

    • @ClearRoadDriving
      @ClearRoadDriving  9 месяцев назад

      Hello, you can start looking the left lane starting from 16:10 (may be even a bit earlier)...If you can start looking the left lane early, you can manage switching to the left lane almost always....You can definitely adjust your speed if there is vehicle on the left lane...But you shouldn't start looking the left lane at 17:10 and make a sudden speed reduction when you see a vehicle on the left lane. It is all about planning ahead and doing your speed adjustment early....And as a final word, if somehow you fail to do a safe lane change to the left lane, yes, you have to stay on the right lane. Please like the videos and subscribe to the channel if you haven't done it yet. Thanks!

    • @lifetogether7175

      So basically we should never wait/stop to get into the left lane in case if there are several vehicles or queuing in that road. Just go right and u turn at next roundabout.
      But like you said, slowing down in advance,what is the lowest speed which I can use in the worst case?

    • @ClearRoadDriving
      @ClearRoadDriving  9 месяцев назад

      @@lifetogether7175 this is really a hypothetical question. If the road is crowded and there is Queuing on the road, then you can not drive fast in any way...so you can change the lane slowly....In front of you there is a roundabout and you have to slow your speed below 30km/h even under normal condition....So you are not really in a high speed.... The point you want to keep by heart here is that even if you want to reduce your speed, it should be planned. You should not drive with 50km/h and suddenly reduce your speed significantly for a lane change. On top of that vehicles on the other lane also watch your indicator, so they don't rush to block your way....In my day to day driving, 99% of drivers adjust their speed so that to make gap for other vehicles that are indicating to switch to their lane.

    • @ClearRoadDriving
      @ClearRoadDriving  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@lifetogether7175 yes, that is correct. But there are situations where you indicate first and check your mirror and blind spot until vehicles on the other lane adjust their speed to let you in to their lane. For example, when entering to motorways on the acceleration lane, you indicate first and check the situation on the main lane while your indicator is running. In this situation also if the road is crowded, you turn on your indicator and wait until someone on the other lane creates a gap for you. Otherwise, you will never get a gap because the lane is crowded. The only way you tell the other road users that you want to switch to their lane is using your indicator.
