DAMMIT!!! I've been good about saving money and not impulse buying things for a while now, but your video made me immediately look for and buy one of these off eBay! Even found one with a 22 serial number! I find that 37 serial numbers are also one of their bests! This is a lens I've been wanting to get for years now! I'm more into having the aperture around f8, but I love the crazy weird bokeh this lens has and I can't wait to do artsy fartsy shit with it! I'm a huge fanboy of Vivitar lenses and they look great on Fujifilm cameras!
Haha love i! It's awesome to hear that you finally got your hands on a lens you've been wanting! The Vivitar lenses really do have a unique character, and I can't wait to see the artsy shots you'll create with it!
What mount is that Vivitar? I'm trying to find an adapter for my Canon EOS M. Also thank you so much cuz this is the type of lens I've been looking for a long time!
@@NatesFilmTutorials Had a go today with an adapter with glass - got on and able to get focus but image quality is pretty bad, looks like super pro mist. I also tried one without glass but then couldn't focus at all. I might have to look for somewhere to take it apart and mod it properly for it to work...any suggestions would be welcome. (in UK)
That’s unfortunate! You could look for a lens that has a different mount, like m42. I believe the minolta md mount, has a shallower flange distance than the ef provides, hence the focusing issues you have.
I own a vivitar 19mm and i should probably do a good cleanup on it because its great but It blooms more that ithink It should. But great little wide angle lens anyways
@NatesFilmTutorials my favorite is the OM 50 1.2. I like the 55mm 1.2 as well, it has way crazy bokeh. I shoot projects all the time with the 24, 50, and 85. It's an awesome look. A little slower to work with than Native lenses, but when you want that aesthetic, it's totally worth it.
@NatesFilmTutorials if you like photography, I would pick up one of their still cameras at the same time. The bundle deals are the best. OM-2s and OM 10s are pretty cheap and awesome cameras. If you're looking for a bang for the buck combo though, spend a little more for a OM 3 or OM 4 and normally you can get them with the 50 1.4. Which is not an undesirable lens. It's not S tier like the 50 1.2 but still really good.
Scary ah audio love the scene n effect it does to the audience, very powerful. i also lookin for a good wide lens for like vlogin showin ur face. My can is a canon eos r50. giv a hint
@@NatesFilmTutorials yessir rf 16m realiable n cheap good for face cam n some scenes and the sigma 16 will be an investment hopefully a gift i could get. Thanks

Nice! Thanks for the info on the serial numbers. Mine is 22000005!
Good choice!

Mine is Minolta MD, but they do come in different mounts, I’d look into the m42 if you can find one
@NatesFilmTutorials thank you so so much, I really do appreciate it 🙏
Absolutely!
Does the f2.8 have the same characteristics?
It’s a little less intense, so it’s nice to “dial in the look”
Any idea of a good MD to EF adapter? Going to try and get this working on bm6k pro.
Huh I’m not sure, I’ll have to do some searching

Nice! I’ll need to look into that one!
Pretty sure Vivitars are built like the Olympus lenses of the same era. Olympus OM primes have the craziest character.
So cool! I don’t believe I own any Olympus lenses. Do you have a favorite vintage lens?

Awesome! Thanks for sharing, I will be looking into these!

I’d look at the canon 16mm f/2.8 geni.us/8SBh or if you can wait a bit the sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 looks like an amazing choice. geni.us/q4pcbc
