If the veto is used, the only players the HoH can put up as a replacement are the players who were drawn in veto.

My idea for a secret PoV would be the Power of Otev - a secret power that can be found in the house that would cancel one Veto use, though it would have a limited number of evictions to be used.

An idea I had for a while was having a veto lottery.
At the deliberation just before the veto meeting, the veto holder must choose one of 4 boxes, each containing different vetoes: silver, gold, diamond and mystery (can be any of the variants discussed in this video). Which veto they choose will revealed at the beginning of the veto meeting. This makes the Saturday to Monday stretch more exciting and suspenseful for live feeders, plus it makes both winning the veto and not being initially nominated (as you could be stuck on the block with the silver pov) more important.
i really like this idea.

New Veto ideas:

Gamble POV: if used, the replacement will be used by random draw.
Democrat Veto: if used, the house votes for the replacement nominee.
1. Having someone randomly nominated is stupid. Don't reduce Big Brother gameplay to such a high degree of luck.
2. If the house was going to vote for the replacement nominee, they would more than likely also vote to evict that nominee. That would remove all of the suspense from the live eviction and make the HOH basically pointless beyond safety. Also, it would make it much harder for the minority to swing the power in the game, which would highly detract from the season.
Sorry, but I'm using my DUAL VETO on BOTH these ideas.

This is very informative and I love it! I just became a big brother fan months ago and I'm not aware of the other veto medallions that existed in all of the bb franchises.

The one thing I’m disappointed is the lack of statistics in this video, and Peridiam likes his statistics. Although he covered season 3 at the season where the veto used the least, the season where the veto was used the most was BBUS7 or AllStars with the veto used 9 out of 11 times (Ironically, the 9 times were all houseguest already nominated) with BBUS 15 coming at a close second with 11/14 times used.
Over in Canada, BBCAN2 used the Veto the most (including the Secret one) 9 out of 12 times while BBCAN6 used the Veto the least with 5 out of 13 time (Note: Season 7, with the main twist of the HoH not playing the Veto until Final 5, is tied with BBCan 1 with the second lowest veto usage at 7 out of 14 times for BBCan1 and 6 out of 12 times in BBCan7

You should’ve mentioned one of the moments where it was shown how powerful the veto can be which was in BB3 and Marcellas was on the block facing eviction and DID NOT use the golden veto on himself thinking he could trust Jason but Jason still evicted him. Telling him “you should’ve used it”, Marcellas then got slapped in the forehead by Julie with her envelope 😂
Marcellas has also been the first and only houseguest to have ever not used the golden veto on himself

Introducing the Mirage Veto: A veto hidden in the house that only the player who finds it knows about, BUT it’s not real (at least the first time). After the use of the fake second veto, the player actually gets to pick who gets the real second veto
Ironically and maybe not the intention, the Veto was more often during the BotB twist (while the twist was in play, the Veto was used 7 out of 8 time in BBUS16 and all 5 times in BBUS16. Season 15, while the MVP twist was in play, resulted in the Veto used all 6 times.
That Veto where the winner had to remove a nominee sounds amazing.

Darkk_est someone mentioned in one the twist videos a suggestion to do a wheel of Veto (where the nature of the Veto can alert due to where it lands on the wheel) twist. Even if the twist flops hard, it would be an experiment worth trying once.
Bronze I could see (ability to Veto to use the Veto but it can neither be used yourself if a nominee plus it doesn’t grant the user safety, meaning get the HoH could revenge nom the veto holder unless planning a backdoor or their intended target remains on the block.
Platinum- Originally, I said, it wouldn’t come into fruition since it would an upgrade to the diamond, but then, and I reason I’m retracting what I originally, I realized than that diamond is higher than platinum. Instead, it could come into play, where a platinum veto will grant the user the option to veto either no, one, or both nominee (like a double veto but more flexible)
They should’ve just named the Coup D’état the platinum veto instead
Darkk_est Honestly I think it would be cool if there was a bronze veto. Instead of taking someone off the chopping block, it could save people from being the replacement nomination. It would change the back door and give a little more power. I would only have a maximum of two people.

Originally, I thought a platinum veto would an upgrade to the diamond but lower than coup de tat (like either the platinum veto can veto no, one and both nominees, name one replacement nominee, but the HoH could either name the other nominee or name a third nom/a platinum could act like diamond POV as well as force the HoH to name a third nominee)
However, when I think of diamond vs platinum when it comes to power in BB and in general, Diamond is usually better than platinum. However, platinum can be higher regard than gold (think music). Thus, a platinum veto would have to be higher than gold but lesser than diamond. Thus, a platinum would something like a flexible double veto (option to veto one or both nominee while HoH names the replacement(s)) or be like the VIP veto.

From revealing it to one houseguest as a "reward", to then revealing it to the ENTIRE HOUSE, to THEN making everyone unanimously decide who gets the veto, and then being absolutely pointless in the end... Ugh

There was something like POV in BBUK called The Game Changer:
The Gamechanger is a competition twist in Big Brother 19 (UK) that gives housemates a chance to save a nominated housemate from eviction.
The competition is an adaptation of the Power of Veto that has been used in Big Brother U.S. and Big Brother Canada.
I like the black hole one is very fun to watch he solve all the clue to find it and its good for people who found it
The only thing you forgot to mention was that in season 5 they had the 6 "something" plan where the people on the block and the hoh got to choose one person for the veto competition NOT in a random draw. So what the people did was put their alliance on the block then choose everyone else in the alliance which would force the target not to play for the veto so they can be backdoor, which kinda broke the game so they change it to the random draw to give people a chance to save themselves which also meant that the 6 "something" plan can't work because its too risky.
Marcellas made the biggest blunder in BB history when he won the golden POV, didn't use it on himself and then got evicted 🤦♂️
Future topics (if doing one more before the finale): top power couples/showmances (and wither Holly and Jackson are among them since they are both still in the house or in light Holly throwing this past HoH and to come full circle with the First HoH video, an more in-depth and statistical analysis on winning versus throwing comps on Big Brother (When specifically to throw and when to win on average/ how many comps (in total and even HoH and POV wins and even secret powers, based on the past winners statistics)

So glad you talked about BBCAN vetos, but i noticed you forgot to say that the BH POV on Season 5 couldnt keep you safe, if you veto someone, the HOH could still pick you as the replacement nominee.

The Secret Veto is probably better at being the Big Brother version of the Hidden Immunity Idol than the Blood Veto. I'd be inclined to think that Blood Veto would work with 3 nominees, but even then I think if you had a secret veto in the game then it would do the job just fine. It's a Hidden Idol adjusted for the way Big Brother works instead of the way Survivor works.
I don’t think the Diamond PoV had anything changed except the point of the season when it used. Alison had the Diamond PoV at the Final Four when they only one alternate choice. When Matt had it, It was the final eight and he had options.
Top 5 House House Meetings
I started watching Big Brother at age 7 or 8, so I was still in elementary school when I got into it. I remembered when we started learning about point of view in our language arts classes and any time the teacher abbreviated Point of View to POV, I had a hard time registering it because I knew POV as Power of Veto for the longest time.
No joke last night I was thinking about the different kinds of vetos
New Veto Idea: The Toxic Veto - whoever wins it cannot be next week’s Head of Household. Also, should you choose to “use” the Toxic Veto, not only can you not be next week’s Head of Household, you have to be put up as a third nominee for next week’s eviction. Hehehehe

i kinda think a cool BB twist would be if they did like a survivor vote maybe as a twist on double eviction night where there’s no hoh or veto and everyone votes for someone to go. it could probably work towards later weeks when they get down to like final 8-6ish
Surprised you didn't go into more detail on the S5&6 Veto Player Choosing Ceremony and how it established the backdoor as a broken strategy and how S7 adapted to the random draw to make backdoors possible still, but not indefensible.

That subject is more about the veto draw than the veto itself. I didn't want to linger too long. I know it's a huge point but I do talk about it in other vids.

I double checked BBCan3 and it ties BBCan 2 with the season in Canada where the Veto was used the most 9/12 times (got thrown off since Britnee’s super power is considered a coup de tat and not a veto).
Honestly, the only major veto changes I would like to see implemented in any sort of long-term form would be 1) the HOH not playing in the competition at all and 2) getting rid of the houseguest's choice chip. The power itself doesn't need to change.
I think a power of veto that isn't over powered but definitely handy would be cool like if the person vetoed from the chopping block also is safe for the next week, that would be cool.
Is there any way to watch past Big Brother Canada seasons in the U.S.?

What do you think about the BBCAN twist this past year where the HOH couldn't play in the veto? I loved it that way one person could not have all the power and you were forced to work w/others who you may not normally work with.
Death doesn't like to be cheated veto-Only in midgame before final 7 at least. The veto works like the silver veto. Must be used. Power isn't told until after use. When used both the user and the vetoed nominee must be nominated again when eligible, but not at the same time unless eligible. If grant uses on mary. Then They must be nominated next week. If either one win HOH then only the NON HOH one would be nominated. Then the other would go up the following week automatically as ineligible to compete for HOH. It's a risk/reward situation. They could still win Veto in their week to keep them both safe. If used on a fellow nominated and you are evicted then the person it was used on would be automatically nominated their first NON HOH week.
Cast a season of pre jurors/first night evictees. Would be a cool idea for a video
I think that you must do a video about the advantages and disadvantages of being the Final HoH.
The Group Veto where 3 people win the power of veto and they either need to work together or not to decide what to do and the whichever the majority decides (to use it or not) happens. In this version I would have all or at least half the houseguests participate in and then end the twist after like 6 weeks

Big Brother U.S.A. needs a major change in formula and look.
We have had the look of this Big Brother House since s6. Reused challenges. I know some like OTEV, the slippery lanes and the B.B. wall have become Staples each season but we need some brand new, never seen before challenges.
Our Big Brother is stale, for sure.
I think the blood veto could work. IF there were 3 noms and not 2. Like when it was announced there is that type of veto in play that week so HoH has to nom 3 people total. But only 2 will get votes that will count against them. The rest of the houseguest just have to guess which of the 3 will not get votes and vote elsewhere.

I have an idea for an extremely over powered veto
when you play it you can take off both noms, pick both replacement noms, and get two eviction votes to cast

@Peridiam What if you kept the blood idol but for the week it is in play, there is no HOH or nominees and instead everyone can vote for everyone for 1 week. Then the Blood Idol becomes like an individual immunity that could choose to use it on someone else
I’m not opposed to having the Diamond POV used. However, like with the Coup de tat, I think the major gripe, and probably the biggest one, is that it is used at the eviction right before the vote and not at the veto meeting after the main veto is used. (Note: Had Christie used her Panic power or if someone would have selected Upgrade power app (put two and two together) and used it last season, the. The DPoV would have been used at the Veto meeting and replace and not be in addition to the golden POV. So, I’m okay with those situation happening.

I'm glad that the veto did get moved to final 4 because if not the HOH of the final 5 would have no safety net whatsoever if it wasn't. Scenario in BB3 if Danielle didn't win HOH in final 4. Jason would have absolutely no way to prevent his eviction as he couldn't play in the HOH.
I want a big brother Veto where there are all the vetoes and everyone plays for it and only the person who has won that veto challenge will get it and go to a veto room were they get there veto and no one knows what they got

Depends on which versions of them are you competing, especially since they did a bit of role reversal from their original season
(Actually, Neda got way too cocky with power while Ika played strategically).
Neda strengths come from being in power both directly and indirectly with through Jon while Ika’s strength was mainly getting herself and Demetres out and through a lot of situations, especially with the block (which can have an admirable strength in its own right)

I thought it was interesting because since you don’t have the opportunity to secure the Noms yourself it makes HoH even more risky. Although maybe they could like do 4 random players so the player count is still 6, they could even throw the HoH into the random draw selection
