'I was running for my life': fire guts multiple units in Milwaukee building

- Multiple homes were reduced to rubble in an apartment building fire Thursday night near 84th and Mill.
"I was running for my life, my children were running for their lives, my grandchildren were running for their lives," recalled resident, Cherise Parker.
Parker told TMJ4 she was woken up to the sound of neighbors banging on her window yelling 'fire.'
"So we just got what we can, shoes, keys, purse- just running out the door," Parker said.
She told TMJ4 that once she ran to the back of her building, she saw the flames take over multiple units.
"[The fire] just moved, it just moved, it stopped at the front of this unit... and it just burned. It was devastating because there were people coming home from the fourth and seeing their unit on fire."

It's too bad that people are so irresponsible that they would set off fireworks where others reside. I am so grateful I do not live in an apartment setting with the way things are now. I do not want to see people or interact with anyone I truly want nothing to do with anyway.
My neighbors have been popping fireworks for about a month before the holiday and are doing so now as I type...This reckless behavior is all over the city and any firework injuries should not be made a priority if 911 is called. It's dangerous and a huge disturbance especially for dogs.
Thank god for digital photos. Because a lot of people not gonna end up alive in this town.😢

Why do your kids have lighters why are you not watching them with the fireworks! They just ruined plenty families because ppl don’t know how to be parents!!! Put the drugs and drinks down and be parents!!!!!!!
