- It’s a question we’ve been trying to answer for months. Did a Milwaukee County sheriff’s lieutenant witness an attack on a corrections sergeant and just walk away? The sheriff’s office wouldn’t tell us. It took several open records requests and months of waiting to confirm what happened.
Surveillance video that was leaked to TMJ4’s Lighthouse team by insiders at the sheriff’s office shows the scary attack in downtown Milwaukee.

@BoondockGore you came here for a comment comparing a LEO and a corrections officer? Silly.

Forgets his firearm as well as negligent discharge. The epitome of incompetence.
Then sees two people obviously fighting and decides to walk away because he thought they were just homeless. Like being inconvenienced is a bigger deal to him than a homeless person potentially killing another homeless person.

@NPCHSN 5:46 long video and your confusing the Sargeant that got stabbed with the Lt. that didn't do anything to help. Does it hurt?
Those are pathetic excuses. First to lazy to get involved( forgot my gun, like a carpenter forgetting his hammer) and probably firing that gun in anger because of the flack he got from other policeman and unable to keep his cool, and then pathetic excuse number two.

@VillageofBayside "The mission of the Bayside Police Department is to serve all persons within our community. Our service shall be rooted in professionalism, respect, courtesy, integrity, dignity, and accountability. The members of the Bayside Police Department are men and women of character and compassion. We value ethical behavior, competency, and a strong work ethic among our members."
...Good luck living up to that mission statement while hiring cops like this guy. Have you no scruples?
Yeah, it seems like this guy has it out for his fellow cops. He leaves his police issue fire arm at home when he was in need of it for his shift, he failed to intervene in what turned out to be a stabbing of his own coworker and the he was found discharging his weapon in proximity of his own coworkers. Those police officers might want to watch their own behinds. Someone might catch a bullet and be left for dead. This guy would be like, "Did I do that?"
Government has no duty to protect the public. What else ya got?
You watched the video, right? Where those trustees and the chief are supposed to have scruples all you'll find is cowardice. Lots and lots of cowardice.
He’s a coward the other cops should boycott him
They are too. 🤷🏼♂️
"Sorry, couldn't hear his call for help" might be their excuse when Franke needs help.
If a police officer is fired or put on suspension it should be entered into a national database that all departments can access when doing background checks on new hires. This seems to be an ongoing issue all over our country.
This actually already exists… It’s up to each department to actually use this service… They usually don’t because it’s a detriment into what they’re trying to do… And that is to hire someone… and even when they use it, they read it. They see it. They still take the chance and they hire somebody who has a checkered past.
Departments know when they're hiring someone with 35 substantiated complaints on their records. Many of them have actual court losses that would show up on a basic background check. It doesn't slow them down.
Pres Biden ordered that to be put in place. Police unions pushed back hard.
Their reasoning is “we like to make our own judgment for an officer”.
Bayside has one of the WORST reputations in WISCONSIN!

If your a bad unsafe employee I guess you should hope to be a cop.

The Uvalde theory of "serve and protect." You dont really have to do anything if somebody is being scary!
To serve and protect… Means to serve and protect the state… That is their obligation. “They have no duty or obligation to protect any citizen”… Supreme Court has ruled on this.
That Deputy is a disgrace & taking him out of the jail & putting him on the streets to ignore citizens in distress is all you need to know about Bayside.

Wow how the heck is he still on the force. Serve and protect he doesn’t have that.
Guys, scotus found there's no duty to act. Including police, even in situations like this. So, this guy didn't actually break any laws/rules. Cowardly cops are a fact we need to deal with, directly. Not an issue the law is equipped to address.

He prioritized off duty “officer safety”.
People aren't aware of how Corrupt and willing the cops of this city are of harming and violating your rights. praise be the journalist that stuck it through, sought this info out and put it out to the public!💪🏽
Milwaukee police and county deputy Sherrifs when off duty witness crimes against people all the time but never come aid assist or even speak to intervene. I aware of this first hand more than once no matter the race, they are virtually cowards without being armed and in uniform. But the are always asking for the community to assist them when they are over taken while in uniform. There are numerous incidents where correction officers have assisted and saved various law enforcement officers while the correction officer is off duty in the public without any weapons whatsoever, including assisting general citizens. This is a fact.
Most citizens rarely intervene, including myself. You were given a colorful flag (not of your country), took your silver coins to betray your own citizens and all the children it produces. What are you belly aching about?
Oh I could go on, but the rulers of this country, rulers with more power and hubris than any king of the Middle A__ would surely delete that. When your rulers tell you who and what you should get mad at I'm sure you will. Semper the long past era of Knights, intelligent people, heroes, and the Holy Eucharist for which am unworthy of.
4:37 it's unacceptable behavior by police chiefs to ignore reporters and not answer their questions. You work for the people pal,you must answer us!
They do not have to discuss anything.
Well, scotus did rule that cops are under no legal obligation to stop a crime in progress.
All I want to know is this. WHY has his state certification NOT BEEN REVOKED!!!!
Because he broke no law or statute… Supreme Court has ruled police have no obligation or duty to protect anyone… There’s your answer… Nobody likes it… But we can’t force people to die and fight for us unless it’s the draft.
The officer who was stabbed was black. That's why he didn't help and why Bayside feels fantastic about their hire.
If Lt, wasn't on duty he shouldn't have to get involved in anything he doesn't see as a life endangering scenario. I don't blame him for walking away from two grown men fighting in a street, specially unarmed.
Bayside must be proud
The government has no duty to protect the public.
Yes, it does. That’s why we have it
Most pigs are like that scared to intervene if they might get hurt
It's an OFFICER SAFETY ISSUE, I'm sure. LOL
I have literally seen video with audio of the people involved where a police lieutenant shot an undercover officer whom the lieutenant personally knew and was at the time working with on the sting. The suspect that they were after had already been removed and cuffed by other officers. The lieutenant just had to play a part in 'arresting' the undercover for show so as to not break the cover. Lieutenant was absolutely still terrified of the situation and you could hear it in his voice. Lieutenant walked up, gun drawn and pointed at the undercover sitting in the driver's seat of the car, and then shot the undercover because the lieutenant didn't realize he was squeezing the trigger in his panic attack.
So I agree with your analysis.
@@davidtherwhanger6795you’ve literally seen video…as opposed to figuratively seeing video?

Cowards have no place in law enforcement. His fellow officers should leave him to his own if under attack. The man is a menace to everyone. Doesn’t accept any responsibility for his own actions. Imagine, convict in court…”this is your way of forcing me into jail, got me to steal some shit and then arrested me, its persecution”
you just advocated for an agency to ignore a cop if they are in need of help… yeah so much for fixing the “gang” mentality that some of you accuse cops of having 🤦🏻
@@Brian-nn1tf I suggested that a cop who would walk away from a crime is not deserving of law enforcement assistance if he finds himself the victim. I’d also worry if I were him about officers abandoning me as retribution for me not standing by one.
The US needs to federalize police complaints, then so many problems would just stop.
No way… 10th amendment matters… Let states do what they want to do as long as it is constitutional…..Don’t forget the constitution… Let the people vote in what they want in their own state
You're trying to make this something it's not. This is not investigative journalism, its a non-story.
Clearly the Bayside PD is scraping the bottom of the barrel if they’re hiring a former LT who was busted down to deputy, given a 60-day unpaid suspension, ignored a fellow co0 almost being stabbed to death, AND sent a stray bullet through the PDs occupied locker room.
I wonder if the discharged duty pistol was a sig P320. There are several reports of them firing without touching the trigger.

So the cop that got stabbed didn't have his weapon on him either? WTF?
The Sergeant is an unarmed Correction Officer (CO) assigned to the jail (they’re unarmed because guns in the jail aren’t a good mix). There are a
about 160 unarmed COs in the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office. They go through a Jail Officer Certification required by the State of Wisconsin, but they are not considered sworn law enforcement officers (like the armed deputies assigned to patrol duty).

Why are stories like this one becoming more prevalent? Why are people becoming cops when they have no intentions of protecting the community?
You need to get this idea out of your head… It must’ve come from TV or movies… But police have never been “obligated” to protect the community… Their job is to serve and protect the state… It’s a big difference in language Supreme Court has ruled police officers have no obligation to protect anyone and this is why you have your second amendment… your duty is to protect yourself… Why would you believe anyone should put their life on the line for you… You got this notion from watching TV… Because this was never taught any school ever… Most people can’t even say where they got this notion from… It’s obvious
