My favorite is the week right after Halloween where everything drops to 50% off and they’re closing stores so it’s like a chaos. That the best time to buy.
I have never seen Spirit on sale beyond the 20% off coupon they give out. They just pack everything up for next year. It’s big box retailers like Target and Walmart where the sales are. We’re talking 75-90% off!

Some persons think inves'tin is all about buying stocks; I think going into the stock market without a good experience is a big risk, that's why I'm lucky to have seen someone like mr Brian C Nelson.
I see what they're doing now. Slowly but assuredly the actual true goal is eventually create a habit in every season of the year that you go to them for whatever you need to celebrate the occasion. It took a long time with Halloween, now they're trying to get into Christmas and probably New Years products. Eventually they'll tip toe into Easter and 4th of July. Thus being open year round and just will be called Spirits representing all the seasons of "getting into the spirit" of things.
Hmmm you may be right but I can't imagine there being a big enough need for most holidays. Halloween and Christmas makes sense because of the culture of decorating lawns, decorating houses and businesses, costumes, etc. Lots of product needs. These holidays permeate and they last beyond just the single calendar day in which it is celebrated. Most other holidays don't have that kind of month-long or season-lonh influence. Then again... Retailers made Christmas a 3 month holiday by pushing out the date at which they started selling Christmas products or began playing Christmas music... So... I suppose anything is possible. Although it will definitely take a long time to change our habits around these other holidays.
Wow this is actually a genius business plan. They stay nimble by only signing leases a few months at a time so if a location is bad they just don’t go back. Also its not like clothing where there are seasons and styles so if they have a pumpkin decoration or vampire or michael Meyers costume that doesn’t sell who cares, just throw it back on the shelves next year. These are like the firework stores that make all their money on 4th of july and new years eve
I was hired, years ago, as a store manager for a failure of a spirit location. The physical location was rockaway shore of queens near jfk. And it used to be a strip club and still had bottles of beer and liquor in the bar, and a pole from ceiling to floor. Hurricane destroyed the whole place, ripped the roof off and the ocean filled it up it looked like.
I really appreciate Spirit for reviving Halloween. I felt like Halloween in general was dying a bit in the 1990s. I also like the name because it doesn't sound scary to younger kids.
I have noticed that a lot of locations remain empty after Spirit leaves, only to reopen again the following year as a Spirit. If they don’t have some sort of agreement with the landlord so they can store their merchandise, then they should, because that’s space not being used. Also, the fact that they keep reopening in the same spot every year means that it’s a successful location, so it’s not that the previous tenant failed due to underperforming sales. It was typically something dumb that was done at the corporate level, like a leverage buyout. In any case, it’s clear that the landlord is probably charging too much for rent. I mean, I’d understand if they are still paying off development costs, but a lot of these repeat Spirit locations are in shopping centers that have been around since the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. So they should be paid off by now and all they are paying for is property taxes and whatever utilities and maintenance required to prevent damage to vacant store fronts. Yes, the land, led wants to see a return on their investment and profit, but if you are paying taxes with no lease money, you are coming up negative until you too go bankrupt and then the whole community suffers from the blight.
They get the closed Rite Aid stores and Michaels locations in Philly!!! I guess I need to get the vacant buildings and sell as pop up store for 2 months to make 1 billion dollars!!!

I'm assuming they're going to have to store half that stuff till next Halloween, that means they'll need Warehouses. It definitely cost money.. the locations are normally consumer dead zones.. that's why the previous business died at that location.. Shipping that stuff back and forth cost money.. Let's not forget the big thing that's been going on for the past 4 years horrible retail theft.. I'm assuming they got terrible theft issues.. I doubt that two employees that they hire are going to stop any of that.. Also it kind of has like the auto part store.. you pay double or triple to get it now.. in today's society people willing to wait. To get it for a fair retail price. So the consumer goes to eBay or Amazon.. Halloween is not as popular as it once was 30 years ago.. I don't think they are as profitable as the interviewer and the CEO are making them out to be...
Why not a store that does only seasonal? Coats in winter, tuxes/easter in spring July 4th/swimwear/wedding rental in summer, Halloween/Christmas in fall?
4:30 is brilliant. 5:30 too. 50,000 seasonal workers? Labor will be their largest issue. No demand from Nov to Aug. It will be a good second job for people in season. Or people with little obligations. What about store management? Will they be seasonal or full time?
@UrFavoriteFurry400 unfortunately so. Profiting big time due to ignorance of consumers. it takes $30 to be a pickle at Sprit, only $15 at AliExpress/Temu. Both are probably the same thing, but perception is that if something is sold by an American company, it's an American Good. Shop such as this where they don't produce their own good can only generate profit from from 2 sources; lowering cost on their vendors and increasing sticker price for consumers. Lowering cost is much harder to do unless US Corporates can find another sweatshop country, so doubling stick price works like a wonder.
