That is the first time I had ever seen the video for this song. John Ritter and Carl Wilson are missed deeply by many. They can never be replaced. Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories with this video.
Awesome song, awesome vocals. I remember hoping this might be a hit for the Beach Boys, but it wasn't even close. Carl Wilson and John Ritter...we miss you both very much.
I miss John Ritter. His son Jason is a great actor and I had the wonderful chance to meet John's wife, Amy. She was SO incredibly nice. I'd love to meet Jason as well. He seems so much like his dad and the resemblance is amazing.
i grew up watching this with my mom-a very Christian lady who enjoyed this movie (and its sequel) way more than i thought she would. great memories attached to these two films.
I totally agree I was 8 years old in 1990 and I remember this movie and just watching the entire movie this morning it doesn’t feel that long ago , the other night I watched the remake 1988 movie Pippi LongStocking I miss them days
I'm a '90s kid and I've loved the Beach Boys for as long as I can remember. This was one of my favorite movies, too. Must be some connection =P. Anyways, I ADORE this song. Sure, it's no Good Vibrations, but it is absolutely perfect for the time and for this movie. Love it forever.
Michael Oliver is a friend of mine! We airsoft together occasionally. When I first met him, I didn't know he was Junior until I said he looked like him. I only knew him as P.C., which I didn't realize stood for Problem Child!
Love the Beach Boys I grew up on their music. The movie was a childhood fav of mine as well. A great collaboration here in my opinion. I know John Stamos drummed for the band during this time and also played conga drums their hit, "Kokomo" which was written by John Phillips of Mama's and Papa's and Scott Mackenzie, Kokomo is a city in Indiana, and not a real tropical destination.
The movie was a critical and commercial failure. Plus the only good and popular Beach Boys song in a decade was Kokomo. So this not being a big hit was inevitable.
Carl definitely had the “I don’t why I’m doing this or why I’m even here” look all over him. Which is ironic since multiple sources have said that Carl had a great sense of humor.
He did, but he knew very little of what they were doing at this time was good. It's pretty obvious that after Dennis died, Carl really just stopped fighting to be creative. It was like, "Well, I might as well just cash in now".
Gilbert was one of the most frequent guests on howard stern so I think he was describing this video one time. I just looked it up and as soon as I heard the kids nya nya nya...I was like ohhhh I remember the ending credits of the movie.
Two Seinfeld characters in Beach Boys music videos four years apart: Sue Ellen Mischke in "Rock n Roll to the Rescue" and Cosmo Kramer here in "Problem Child"!
As a child I use to watch Full House all the time. I would see the Beach Boys make an appearance on the show but until now I didn't know that John Stamos was really apart of the band.
My fifth #throwbackthursday post. A 90's music video from the "Problem Child" original Motion Picture Soundtrack, originally performed by The Beach Boys, and copyright to MCA Records. P.S - The guy on the drums was actor John Stamos from the hit comedy tv show, "Full House". Hope you Enjoy this music video. This is for you, Dan Mazhar & MyJazzyMac .
This movie was suppose to be a dark comedy. It was never intended to be a family film. And it didn’t copy or was inspired by Home Alone. It came out four months before Home Alone 1. Also, McCaully Culkin auditioned for the role, but Michael was their pick.
Michael Oliver dropped out of acting after Problem Child 2 when Michael's mom had a financial dispute with the production company. She then forced Michael out of acting after that.

Yes, that's Stamos. He was a touring drummer for the Beach Boys before "Full House."
During... After...
@trfesok John Stamos didn't and doesn't tour with the Beach Boys on a regular basis. He just sits in on drums every once in a while.

Not a bad song in its own right. And for being for the soundtrack of a kids movie, it kicks ass.
Just watched Problem Child 1 and 2 again last night. Still great. Junior in this video is just great.
I like how Junior messed with all of the band members in this vid, except for Carl. He has good taste not to mess with the best!

Heartwarmingly candid… childishly charming! I hope that all of you guys are staying true to your inner Problem Child!
I love this song because it's by the Beach Boys! But what sucks is that it was recorded without Brian Wilson because he was sick at the time!

I was suprised too, I found it by mistake and I love the song and video as well.
