Thanks for sharing the Precious Moments Chapel. I was there years ago and remember the story of Sam Butcher going into the Chapel at night and continuously painting new figures on the walls. It was his catharsis after the death of his son. Loved the Mickey Mantle home too.
I love Precious Moments figurines. I have shelfs full of them. I didn't know they have a garden and chapel. Another fun day. Thanks for taking us along. Stay safe.
Hi Jordan & Scott, wow, that Precious Moments Chapel was like a little village. Oh, what beautiful art work in the Chapel. That was funny, Scott Michaels as 'Dorothy'. Great vlog Jordan.
Thank you for stopping and covering the Precious Moments Chapel. I couldn't have imagined it was so beautiful. I have figurines (including Elvis) I've collected for decades. I've loved seeing the murals and neon signs on your trip, too. One last comment...I love Scott's shirt! TCB!👑
This Route 66 adventure keeps getting better every day! So many way cool things and places. I've never been a Precious Moments fan ever but totally get why some folks might be. Thank you to you & Scott for another great day.
My favorite part was the Mickey Mantle house because my dad was a huge baseball fan and knew everything there is to know about baseball. The information about Mickey Mantle’s home was great! Thank you!
Thanks for showing me the PRECIOUS MOMENTS CHAPEL... I have collected them since the 80s and received my dads collection when he passed away ...over 250 pieces now in my collection
Thanks so much for showing my home area, I'm overseas and it's great to see familiar sites; nice job as usual. I hope you and Mr. Michaels have a safe trip, have a great time.
Thank you so much Jordan and Scott, I am thoroughly enjoying this Route 66 Vlog Adventure!! I enjoy both of your channels very much, and I think it is so cool that you two have teamed up to do this Route 66 documentation... I am excited every day for the next episode... Again thank you guys so much!! peace and safe Journeys! ✌
I never knew that about the Cars movies. Thanks 🙂. Loving the adventure you guys are on. An absolute blessing to be able to spend time with a friend while enjoying freedom.
My dad is a tour guide for the chapel. He has had to step back because he is going thru cancer right now but he loves his job there. It is a peacful place for sure!!! So glad you got to expérience it!!!!
I'm such a NYY fan and my brother was such a Mickey Mantle fan he named his dog Mickey. Enjoying your side trips and historical knowledge while you drive along. Have a wonderful trip and keep getting your kicks on Route 66!!! ☺️🥰😊🐎🌴🦩☀️
There used to be a music joint, bar, and club in Galena called the Ranch. A band called Crawdad, founded by pre-Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Steve Gaines, often played there. Steve’s final pre-Skynyrd gig was with Crawdad at the Ranch on the 4th of July 1976, not long before he went with Skynyrd to the Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia to record their live album: One More from the Road.
Just seen Scott's live stream. You guy's this is just awesome to see & that you are having a blast! And so are we, Ty Jordan Luv&Peace Sean&family, Cheers to continued fun along the way!
Hey Jordan! Glad to see you in Oklahoma again. One Mickey Mantle statue is in his hometown of Commerce and the other one is in Oklahoma City where we met. It really is a cool part of Oklahoma Sports History.
The precious Moments chapel was very serene. Sure they host weddings there as well. Phillip little chapel was emotionally powerful, it got me with the mural of the boy welcomed to heaven. You could have not picked a better road travel companion than Scott for experiencing a game of catch on Micky Mantels boyhood home. He's a great sport. We are really have been enjoying this trip! Somebody got tired of the Muffler Man following them on 66 so, they blew him up and all was left was the feet.
Omg!! Precious moments!!!! Thank you for showing us this. It's so cool! I am definitely adding this to my wishlist/bucket list of things I want to do and see. I grow up with getting some of them.
I remember the Precious Moments ceramics in Hallmark store in the 80s. I didn't realize the story behind these or the lovely church. Seeing Mickey Mantel's home was great too. There is alot of interesting history in the USA.
Wow what a trip and omg to be at mikey mantle's house and see that barn and just gaze into the house. Really enjoyed this trip. Good to see scott liked it too. AWESOME😊❤🍔🍦⛽🚖🚘⚾⚾⚾⚾
Thank you, Mr. Jordan! I remember watching that vlog when you visited Micky Mantle's home! Im so happy for you that you got back there with Scott, and actually played a little catch.
What a neat trip you are on, all kinds of fun things to do. It was great seeing the two of you throwing the ball around at Mickey Mantles house. Today I have realized that Scott is like the brother I never had. My Grandma and I would travel all over, she loved taking me, she said, I was a good traveler, I appreciated everywhere we went, and was always thankful for the chance to go! Scott reminded me of myself at the end of the video. Anyway, great video, Jordan, looking forward to tomorrow!!! Papaw 🙏
Loved seeing this side of Route 66❣️Never saw the Precious Moments Chapel & grounds. Glad you and Scott took in your Mickey Mantle moments. Keep creating memories and moments❣️👍🚘⛽️⚾️🏠
Hey Jordan, Scott..that was awesome bc mantle was also one of my fave ballplayers growing up & I'd like to add that Scott seems like a good friend to have along on this trip, thanks guys.
Hi Jordan and Scott! Love this road trip!! I had a giggle when you showed the ceiling at the Precious Moments ceiling with those little cherubs. Scott is so kind in throwing the baseball at your heroes home, Cool! I am only on day 7 and looking forward to the rest of the trip!! I am Beth from Winnipeg!
Wow Joplin, Missouri had a lot happening in that town Bonnie an Clyde apartment an a few years ago a huge tornado ripped through that town almost wiping out the whole town . i hope that is recovery well . Thank you Jordan and Scott for talking all of us along with you on this very eventful adventure . I have a vintage precious moments nativity scene . . Mickey Mantle is a legend for sure ...keep on truckin on route 66
Back in the early 1950's my brother and I traded baseball cards, that came in Bazooka Bubble Gum packages. I had a Mickey Mantle, a Babe Ruth and other cards. As I was a girl I wasn't much interested in baseball. Wish I would have kept them now! Great Vlog Jordan and Scott!
I cried a little during the chapel segment - such a wonderful legacy. I loved those figurines when I was a girl. I have to go to that Precious Moments chapel someday!
Never wanted to go to Precious Moments but reluctantly agreed to go for my wife. Wow! What a place. When you go into the chapel all the paintings have a purpose. One side represents the Old Testament while the other side the paintings represent the New Testament. The large painting in the front represents heaven. You can see Jesus welcoming children. Each child painted represents a story close and special to the artist. Really a neat place.
oh my love the Precious Moments there so beautiful. the church so lovely and peaceful I could just sit there and think of nothing, just peace. Iike I said before never thought of Route 66 starting at Illinois and ending in Calif., and to think Texas is part of it to .holymoly all theses years thought it was just only in Arizona. well you guys thanks for all you do Jordan, and Scott it's cool to see you on this jouney. take care and safe travels.
Breakfast with Jordan and Scott, it doesn’t get much better than that. You’ve inspired me to break out my baseball cards I also have the original series of the 7-11 baseball trading cups. do you remember those?
Not a regular viewer, but I'm slowly plodding through your R66 travels. Lots of cool stuff along the way, no doubt. And little chance I ever drive it myself. So this is as good as it gets for me. Glad you're enjoying your opportunity.
Hi Jordan and Scott, Day 7 I love stained glass windows. Let's all go to the lobby. Let's all go to the lobby. Let's all go to the lobby to get ourselves a treat delicious things to eat. The popcorn can't be beat the sparkling soda is dandy hot dogs in the candy. Let's all go to the lobby and get ourselves a treat.I just love sites. Thanks again, stay safe.
Thank you, Jordan, for taking me again on a field trip. Route 66 in segregation time,Jim Crowe Era had a lot of sundown towns along it, and there was nowhere to use facilities or eat in ma and pop restaurants for blacks. It is a lot of history on Route 66 that is not yet completely safe for Blacks to travel. I just wanted to say thank you again, always with Scott enjoyable❤
I was wondering if you would go to the Precious Moments Chappel. I took my Mom and sister years ago and it was rainy. It just seemed to add to our trip! Thank you!
Wow, you guys are so fabulous! ❤ You know with all of the fantastic murals on your way, I am happy that they are not sprayed over or ruined. Keep on truckin'! ❤❤❤
The Great One "Mickey Mantle". Saw him and his wife on the 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. NY police escorted his limousine: "Make way for the Mantle!"
My ex-girlfriend’s now late grandmother actually knew Bonnie & Clyde personally, but she had no idea about their life in crime until after they were killed. She was about seven or so years old, living with her parents in Shreveport, Louisiana when Bonnie and Clyde came to their door one day, seeking a place to stay for a while. They set up camp in the backyard of my ex’s grandmother’s childhood house. “They were such nice people,” she once told me. “They showed no signs of being anything malicious or evil or anything like that. They hid that from me and my parents. I remember seeing them at breakfast and dinner in the dining room. I got to talk with them a couple of times, but they mostly talked with my parents. They mostly just talked about life and things most people would. They were our friends! So when we found out about their deaths, and what they were known for, there was a LOT of crying in my house that day and night.” This is a side of the infamous duo nobody’s ever brought to light before, and probably never even known. It blew my mind when I heard my ex’s grandmother tell me to my face about it.
My mom loves precious moments and I didn't know that even existed! Thanks for that!
Thanks for sharing the Precious Moments Chapel. I was there years ago and remember the story of Sam Butcher going into the Chapel at night and continuously painting new figures on the walls. It was his catharsis after the death of his son. Loved the Mickey Mantle home too.
