At age 54, after numerous relationships and two marriages, two wonderful adult children, I finally was hit by lighting, and so was she. You have no idea what it's like, how wonderful it is until you find that person and fall head over heels for them. And when they feel the same, it's the most beautiful thing in the world. It's worth the wait...
Sir, you are absolutely right! I dated around all my life and I never felt anything like that, until I forgot my head and started listening to my heart. Then I met the love of my life. I agree it is worth the wait!
I lived through very abusive relationships and believed that I would never find real love...but then came the absolute love of my life. We met and married in 2 weeks, and have been married for 36 years. We are still crazy in Love with each other. I am truly happy and blessed
I loved it 🌸❤️ And I loved that the movie began with this. You can always tell when someone is settling and marrying for duty BS when someone is in love. Love is supposed to excite you, encourage you, give you strength, hope and energy. This doesn’t apply to a woman being happy around you. In cultures where men don’t interact with women, they mistake a woman being happy for her being in love with the man. There’s a difference between platonic happy and love/romance happy. But men who don’t interact with women and have never been around happy women, over estimate themselves and think that they’re the reason for her smile. If you’re not doing anything special and the two of you aren’t compatible in any way, you are not the reason for her smile. She’s just happy and there could be a million reasons for it but your mediocre company isn’t one of them. This goes for all guys who are mediocre. Also, when a woman has rejected you, she’s not interested in what you think, feel, want or desire. She doesn’t care about your opinion. She doesn’t care what you like. No, she’s not sad or depressed. She is disinterested and checked out. There’s a difference. With the right man and friends, she’ll be excited and upbeat. You and the people who she dislikes, just don’t have that effect on her. So stop harassing her just because you’re bored, out of love, don’t have a date and want to distract yourself from your demons.
i sat and watched this film over and over, and knew i was in a doomed marriage, so we parted, and i wandered through life lonely and empty for nearly 2 years thinking "these things don't happen", and now I have found the person he speaks of, and she does each and everyone of these things and more to me, she is the most beautiful thing this earth has ever created, and for that, i am the luckiest guy alive.

"stay open, who knows, lightning could strike" i always think of that phrase whenever i feel down, and when problems just keep coming up non stop, that phrase really gives me some peace and hope :-)
Bear in mind always- Tough time don't last, tough (as in resilient) people do. Arise each day with a mind full of resolve and a closed fist. But not so closed of mind and clenched of hand that that you can't see the travails of your fellow man and shake his hand.
Love can’t be controlled. There’s no date and time for love. 2 weeks from now isn’t the time to fall in love. Wasted time, getting bored and passing time, isn’t the time to fall in love. Love can happen anywhere and everywhere. People who try to control it for themselves or others, don’t understand love one bit and aren’t made for it. It’s no wonder they haven’t found it and never experienced it. Their anger, frustration, need to intrude and control, obsession, frantic behaviour, aggression, need for violence, condescension and bullying isn’t a sign of love, being loved or falling in love. It’s a sign of sheer hatred. Self hatred. Failure. Embarrassment. Shame. Guilt. Their intrusion, advice, plans and opinions are neither sought nor welcome. You don’t have the right to control someone else’s love life based on your understanding (ignorance), false assumptions, triggers, definitions and how you want things to be. You are not a player in other people’s story. You don’t matter. It’s not your story. The two people involved matter because it’s their story. You don’t have the right to rob them of their moment, story and timing just because you are bitter that you don’t have yours. Focus on your loveless life. Make something of it instead of being bored and distracting yourself. Passing each day as it goes by, amounting to nothing.
Yes, and so right you are! The very best at his craft, Thomas Newman. Also loved his score in "Little Children" - the ending credits piece is his masterpiece, imo.
This is a scene I come back to at least once a month. I think we all need a reminder of what’s important in this selfish, cruel and unforgiving world that we live in !

My favourite actor of all time, Sir Anthony Hopkins. 20 years ago I started my first full time job and on my 1st day my boss told me her daughter (who was studying at drama school in London) had written to Anthony Hopkins asking him to be her mentor etc, he wrote back and agreed on the premise that she sent him all her written work/reports etc. He even turned up to one of her performances ! What a guy x

Anthony Hopkins, by his own words, was for the better part of his young adulthood a stark raving drunk who hadn't a clue where he was, what he was doing, where he was headed or which end was up. STILL, through all that chaos...all that destructive inertia of a wrecking ball in motion, by way his acting, he became a prism for the light of human nature...giving us discrete portrayals of various aspects of our nature, tiny glimpses of ourselves. From the Bounty to Remains of the Day, to Silence of the Lambs, to Howards End to Legends of the Fall to the Edge to Westworld. Hopkins somehow manages to display with vivid focus the nuances of human frailties better than almost anyone else I have seen. Or maybe it's just his British diction and accent and delivery.
Everything about this movie is so beautiful. Shes gorgeous, hes classy and inspiring...theyre in a helicopter....and Brad Pitt... Life will never be so grand
Claire is probably my favorite person that I could ever hope to meet in person !! So beautiful and talented. Thank you for all the joy and wonderful entertainment. 👍👍👏👏😀
This movie was not appreciated in its time. But looking back at it now as then, it gave me the ability to suspend disbelief. To actually see it happen. To look upon death as a person... in the guise of a baby face Brad Pitt. The interactions between the daughter, the father and death. Even the meeting she had with Pitt before he turned in to death... It was pulling at my mind to except that this could happen and that is what makes this such a good movie. The acting is just a wonderful cherry on top
After 42 yrs with my wife and it’s still not enough ❤ I love her more today than I did yesterday She lights up a room when she walks in I would die for her and more 🙏❤️

This is in incredibly dangerous message. Saying life isn’t worth living without love is so sad and dangerous because you’re basic your experience off of someone else’s emotions that you can’t control. Love sounds great but many many many people will never experience it. Are their life’s without meaning? No
I'm a 90s kid. And I only happened to stumble across a trailer of this movie this week lol. It got my attention when some of the comments explained how good this movie is. Given how old the movie is I wasn't going to watch it but I just felt I had to, so I did. This scene and the movie as a whole has such a message! And I'm glad I watched it. It was worth every second. It reminded me that finding love takes time, the power of integrity, honesty, reason, love, time, and living in the now. It also made me learn about Claire Forlani 😉 oh my goodness haha I just can't even.

They are both so perfect here. What great scene.
Claire forlani is one of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.
Yes she is
That is the best speech ever about finding true love.
It's also lovely when Joe asks him about his late wife in the Board room.
Sometime ago, my dad give that advice too. Parrish remind me of him in some things :) A really great dad!

"Love is passion, obsession, something you cannot live without"...
I had it for a month and it was sublime. I’ll never forget it. ❤️
@@CRFSUIGENERIS good even just for a month :) although I think what he meant was the love for life.

C R F Absolutely, in fact, more than nice, it would be a dream come true :)

Anthony Hopkins is the greatest living actor.
One of the most wonderful films ever made - Just beautiful
2019? Anyone? Love this movie and this is one of my favorite scenes
A really special scene so powerful. A great movie too.
HE IS A TOP ACTOR ... THE BEST
I found the man of my dreams recently and Anthony Hopkins describes exactly what I feel. It’s one of my favourite movies too 🤗
As much as i love the titanic lines, this one is forever
This has always been my favorite scene
He comes across as the total romantic who seriously loves his daughter and wants the best for her.
Best actor ..... ever .... nothing else .... HOPKINS !!!!!
Am 52 years old, am so grateful for this movie and it always inspires me greatly, best wishes and positive energy to everyone.
One of my favorites movie I have ever seen!!!!
The soundproofing on that helicopter is stunning 😂
After 42 yrs with my wife and it’s still not enough ❤
I love her more today than I did yesterday
She lights up a room when she walks in
I would die for her and more 🙏❤️
2:08 "to make the journey and not fall deeply in love. well, you haven't lived a life at all."
I need to watch this movie again. it is such a classic and timeless piece of art.
I really love this scene.these words are so beautiful
Great speech by Anthony Hopkins! He's such a great actor! You haven't lived until you've tried!
When, he asked her...are you going to marry Drew? She sighs and says, probably. Don't get too excited! LOL!
Love Anthony's face. Who knows, lighting could strike O.O
Does there have to be clouds for lighting?
unfortunately yes
Xong Lo I would say very deep movie!!!
Could U imagine being on a working vacation and meeting someone as beautiful as the daughter of one your assignments..?
Xong Lo could be, but SUM are different and can separate work from play. What do U think?
Same thought!!!
I would have told this to my Daughter but hey, I don't have a Helicopter... Quite a Scene
beautiful story.. always loved this movie.. Even Death could fall in love. No wonder humans can be greater then angels or worse then a devil.. We have a choice..Ameen
Wow.....that is good.
That’s beautiful
An amazing movie an amazing script writer, amazing director an everyone played their role superb
Mark of a great actor. Hopkins can play a cannibalistic killer one moment, and the best Dad figure ever the next.
Claire Forlani has that natural “cat-eye” look that girls nowadays are getting plastic surgery for. Can’t beat a natural beauty ❤️
One of the best movies. Top class.
"love is passion. Obsession. Someone you can't live without." It's true, if you are with someone and both don't feel this way, then it's not a relationship it's a business deal. If you decide to have kids, they deserve better examples.
This scene has long imprinted in my head ever since the first time I watched it.
This is so inspirational! This is just what I needed! Always try and never give up!
This movie is full of great characters and acting.
A pleasure to watch it.😊
Thomas Newman completed this scene with his music! Wonderful..
Dee C One of the best soundtracks of his career.
In this movie/scene he is everyone’s father he gives great advice and he is right in so many level
without love we are nothing 😌
People comment at length about underrated guitarist and bands.
Well, I think this is an underrated movie - everyone played their rolls well and the editing was great to watch.
He is such a good father
I have to recite this for drama class at school next month oh my god XD
This film is over three hours long and when I took my wife to see it back in the day, we both agreed we could have watched another three hours of it
This really was a beautiful movie on multiple levels.
Great movie! Anthony Hopkins always an awesome actor.
It also made me learn about Claire Forlani 😉 oh my goodness haha I just can't even.
her eye-liner person is very talented
it's my favory moment of this great Movie legend ! and like love Anthony Hopkins
Anthony Hopkins said it so well ..."This relationship has all the passion of a pair of tit mice ..." I laughed out loud. There is so much wisdom in the truth of love. Great acting!
